hy does not the NEW button (when clicked upon) take you to the last post, rather than the start of the page the new post is on?

Not sure if it is a bug, but I just ran into a post in which parts of the post back ground are a completely different color than the Theme I am using as if they over rode the theme.
The pst in question is the second one down on page 75 of the Long term Investor thread in IBB - not sure if this is cropping up in other places. I use a darker theme of grays and blues as it is easier on my eyes.

Also when I enter threads on here for the first time I'm put on page 1 of that thread, not the current page.
that's because it assumes you've never visited that thread and it automatically starts you from the beginning. after you have read it once, if you click the NEW icon, it should take you to the first unread post since your last visit.

Okay so I have to go to the beginning of all new threads. I've sort of been doing that already, so no bother.

Sorry, Pro Boards person (Patrick?), I saw something shiny and wandered off yesterday... I was getting the "forgery" error and the deletion of my entire message (if I hadn't preventatively copied it to my clipboard). I am going to try and send this message via "Post Quick Reply" based on Virgil 'fessing up yesterday. (Hugs, Virgil. I KNOW you are behind the curtain furiously throwing switches and turning dials trying to keep things running.) ETA: It worked!!!! But, what did Virgil have to remove to get Quick Reply to work again? Will we want the removed codes back -- is there a way to do it all?

Is the spell check feature on this version someplace? ...There is no spell check in V5. Most current browser versions have their own, so it's redundant and wasn't implemented. If you'll check the V5 Updates thread, Virgil has a list of what's being worked on, its level of priority, and where it stands. I think spell check is one of those listed.

Moon, should I post to main proboards support page for my Chrome issues? I'm sure it's a version problem at this point. ::asks Sroo quietly as not to be a pest:: What kind of error are you getting, Sroo?

Okay, thanks, sroo. I've got Chrome Version 24.0.1312.52 m, which is the same as your work version. I can't duplicate the problems you're having, so it's not the browser version that's giving you fits. I was able to "like" your post without difficulty. I usually use Reply, but I'm going to use Quick Reply for this post to see if there's a problem there. I do have the gear box next to the "like" icon.
If this post goes with Quick Reply, it's not your Chrome version that's a problem. It's something else with the work computer. Perhaps, there are some "adjustments" made to your system at work that are causing the problems.
Posted with Quick Reply and encountered no difficulties.

When I try going to previous page on a thread, the previous page isn't coming up - it's just staying on current page and "cycling".

Can't duplicate that one, either, SL. I'm on Windows 7 Pro, Chrome. Previous page is working fine for me (through the floating access at the top of the page).

Yours has got to be something different about your work computers, sroo. Something there isn't allowing the page to show properly, and it's not the version of Chrome that's the problem. It's something else. Does your workplace have screening software in place to prevent people from going to certain sites?

Looking at your last pic, sroo, when you quote a post, look down at the bottom of the screen you're seeing, then click on Visual. It looks to me like you're set to view BBCode. By clicking on Visual, you should see your quote as it will appear.

I am posting this from the most recent version of chrome as well, and I have to duplicate mmhmm's comment. "Like" actually likes the post instead of taking me to the top. All my icons are there, etc.
Have you cleared cache and cookies? I'm assuming yes, since that's one of the most common things to try as a first step.
interestingly enough, posting in chrome helped me to see that a bug i'd reported on support is FF specific. i don't have it on chrome.

Another Bug:
I hid someone's avatar this morning. It disappeared after I chose the "Hide Avatar" option. But when I went to a page where they'd posted a few minutes later, their avatar was once again visible.

When I'm on a thread, and try to see previous page, I click "Previous" at the left of the page numbers but it just keeps cycling trying to load the previous page - and it doesn't come up I've also tried by clicking on the previous page number.

Not sure if it is a bug or not but for a very short glorious time there was a drop-down menu that appeared when I hovered my mouse over the "Home to the MSN refugees" section of the ribbon at the top. It was very nice and quicker than having to scroll down the the particular board/sub-board. It appears to be gone now....

I've got one avatar hidden, SL. For me, it's hidden on all posts by that poster. Again, Windows 7 Pro with Chrome.

I'm getting an inferiority complex and think this board doesn't want my logic and common sense any more.
I have to log in each time I want to post, most of my posts don't get on the board, the 'actions' button is missing most of the time.
Still love mmhmm kitten.

Aww, sesfw, it's not that the board doesn't want ya! We're getting some weird glitches, as you can see if you read through about the problems others are having. I think SL was having to log in each time she came back, as well. Are you checking the "Remember me" box when you log in? It's at the bottom of the login entry area. My kitty has helped enormously to keep me calm and purring through all this!

It must have just been a small blip on the radar when that happened, mmhmm. The "Hide Avatar" function seems to be working now for me.

It must have just been a small blip on the radar when that happened, mmhmm. The "Hide Avatar" function seems to be working now for me. I made some repairs to that recently. All plugins are contained in separate script files now, and the script files are cached. Your browser won't update plugins unless you explicitly hit the refresh button. For example, if the link highlighter isn't working for you, hit the refresh button.

mmhmm and moon - may be a work vs laptop browser issue - I'll check on the train tonight and let you know.
Still doesn't show up at work (and now I think I may have only seen it on the laptop/personal computer)
