Is it just me or is the quoted text sometimes sitting on top of a poster's response. I am using Google Chrome ...

I'm using Chrome, as well, pepper. I don't see what you're seeing. I'll keep watching, though.

'Are you checking the "Remember me" box'
I check this box every time. I'm feeling used and abused. <sigh>

Ouch, sesfw! I know some folks are having problems, so you're not alone. Scottish Lassie was having the same problem you are. You might want to PM her to see what she did to get it to stop (I think she's doing fine now). What version of Windows are you using, and what browser and browser version?

Proboards Version Five-a
On a long info highway, Proboards on my screen, A small check in the corner, says my browser is clean.
Up ahead in the distance, saw an ad flashing red. "Your board is lousy, you should upgrade now. And it's free," s'what it said.
There she stood in the doorway, I heard the Windows bell. And I was thinkin' to myself: this could be heaven and this could be hell.
Then she started the contest, and we got underway. There were voices on the support board, I thought I heard them say:
Welcome to the Proboards version five-a. It's such lovely wares. With such angry bears. Plenty of room in the Proboards version five-a. After twenty years, yes it's finally here.
Her mind is differently twisted, she got the beta release. She got a lotta techie techie boys, on every piece.
How they code in the backround, sweet Proboards sin. Some work to take bugs out, some put new ones in.
So I called up to Moonbeam: "Please spellcheck for me." "We haven't that kind of feature here since Proboards v 3."
And still those voices are calling from far away. Send PMs in the middle of the night, just to hear them say:
Welcome to the Proboards version five-a. It's such lovely wares. And such angry bears. You'll be livin' it up in the Proboards version five-a. Hope your browser's new, or you're kinda screwed. ...
CSS is missing; strange bugs galore, and she said, "We are all just prisoners here, of our switch from v4."
And in the Proboards office, they hammer at the wares. They stab it with their PHP but they just can't kill the bears.
Last thing I remember, I was running for the door. I had to find the passage back to the boards I loved before.
"Relax," said the software, "We are programmed to receive. You can upgrade any time you like, but you can never leave."

Ok - I'm on my laptop running ie v9 (I will update this post to state the version I run at work)
Dropdown to various boards when I hover my mouse is working on laptop I can "like" posts on my laptop The participate button works now on my laptop (did not earlier this week) I can see the little cog wheel at the top of each message on my laptop
None of the above work on my desktop at work. May be a browser version, pop-up blocker, or restricted site issue.
If I figure anything out, I'll add it.
At work I'm running IE v8.
When I hover above the ribbon the drop downs do NOT appear. When I "like" posts it take me to the top of the page. The participated button does not work There is no cog wheel at the top of each message

Just wondering, did we win the free ad participation, or is it already used up?

Just wondering, did we win the free ad participation, or is it already used up? the contest isn't officially over until jan 28 i think. so we won the 500,000 ad free views unless the current 3rd place passes us up again.. they probably won't give us the ad free until beginning of Feb.

Is there a code of some kind that you Moon (or Virgil) could put in so that our avatar taglines are centered again like they used to be?? Right now they're all toward the left margin and don't look symetrical.

Plus we used to be able to have a colored font and other extras that we can't do now. Is that not and able feature on V5 ?

My former post (5 up from the bottom of the prior page) has been updated.
Just noticed - no post numbers? Not a big deal but it used to make it easier when someone put an update in a long thread.

Centering the personal text should be a simple template mod, though i'd have to ask someone how it goes in there.. one of those things that has to be done on every theme, too.
as far as the colored text, we had it in siggys, but NOT in personal text on the old version. I just tried it on icey's and it comes out like this testing color in personal text

Not a big deal but it used to make it easier when someone put an update in a long thread. ...understood... seems to me that "we" used to reference "update on page 4" but the old old boards gave you the choice to display 10, 15, 20, etc. posts per page... ...we began to see references to post numbers... since so many had different totals of pages in a thread... ...then we started to see post numbers renumbered after deletions... ...and I can't find a setting to display 10, 15, 20, etc. posts per page in v5... ...maybe we'll gravitate back to the original "update on page 4" designation?

I don't know if it is a bug or not but the opening post on an Everything Else thread ( Ah retirement - My latest part time job) contains a YouTube video.
When I view the opening post on my tablet, I can see the video and play it. When I look at the opening post on my computer, there is no video. Going into edit mode on the opening post, I can see there is a YouTube video link posted there. But when simply viewing the post, there is no video.
Maybe it's just my desktop computer.
Here is a link to the thread with the Youtube video.

My page numbers aren't floating with the page as I scroll down anymore. Was that a deliberate change or is something going on on my end? I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but I didn't know where else to ask.

Ok. They have been for me too, but not for the past hour or so when I came back to the boards. I'll just wait and see what happens. Thanks moon!

I don't have that problem, at all, on any browser. Scrolling is smooth for me. Must be something on your side, hon.

We did have it in Personal Text cause I had it. BUT I also had it on Icey's and it went and has been gone on that Board for the longest time. I just tried it on here and Icey's and I get the code + Personal text and nothing else.
