I was thrilled with this new format when Moon opened it for us and loved the changes from MSN. But I love this format so much that the new one does not excite me. I know I will adjust - but I just love the ways things are now. I'm sure Moon and Virgil will make it as wonderful as it is now and then some - I just wish I was as excited as I was when this place was first made. As I learn it I hope to feel like that again. If the looks stayed the same but there were more features - I would be very excited. Change for the sake of change does not excite me. I'm sorry that I feel that way. I just do. I'm getting old... Maybe that's why I got nuked! Proboards heard me last time I said that.

POM don't worry, Moon and Virgil will make V5 completely superb. Yes there will be learning curves, but if you sign onto the copy now, you'll start to learn. Learning, it's a good thingy. Come on Peeps, let's have some fun. notmsnmoney.freemessageboards.com/

POM, i understand the reluctance to go through another change.. but honestly, it's not all about looks. there are TONS of functionality changes.. and for virgil, it will be much easier for him to give us our special customizations because it uses the most modern html, and he'll have full access to modify the CSS..i know that probably doesn't make any sense but.. trust me - it's good for him.
no, it doesn't look or act exactly like this board does..or have our widgets yet.. but that will come in time. and i'd really love for people to come mess around with it so that they're not completely stressed when we upgrade- because it's a guarantee that when i have the chance to upgrade early (before general release) i will be doing so. that could be sometime this month. i really don't know yet.

Tell that to my eyes. But I do understand that technology changes all the time and it needs to move with the times. I don't like the times. Enough is enough for me with technology and it's just not my thing like it is all of yours (in the general sense).
I've been on it before but when I tried again today I got the usual: We're sorry. The password you entered is not correct. Please try again.
I've not changed my password so I'm not sure why it's saying that. Again, I'll wait and then adjust when I have to.
FB did the same thing and kept changing and changing and changing to the point I just closed it. It wasn't worth it to me. This place is worth it so I will persevere. But I'm just not excited about it.

So far, I have really been liking it. It will take some getting used to the new format and etc. but really like the privacy options. I like V5 too. The privacy options seem more extensive, which is great, and the feel/layout is nice too. Agreed, I think it will be fairly easy, once gotten used to. Every forum, when brand new, is a little aggravating. I'm sure in no time, we will be loving it.

There are a few of our current features/options I'd like to see preserved or implemented on the new Beta - which I'm confident can be done - but I'll relay my thoughts via PM. I don't want to bombard you with all the questions here all at once while people are dicussing the changeover in general.

POM, just hold my hand, and everything will be alright, sugar!! Thank you, Femme! I'm going to copy this so when I start bugging you to death I'll have proof you said it was okay. You better not block me! One of the things I love here is the PM feature and how we all can talk privately if we want to and that you all are so helpful - all the way to the top. ETA: Awwww! Look at all the little Snowmen!!!

POM when you first sign on to V5 you use your currant username and password. Then it will ask you to put in your email addy for your account and THEN you put in a brand new password. Don't use the same password. This is all I know what to tell you hon. And thereafter you put that same email addy that you used and that same new password, when signing onto the V5 Board.

That's what I did wrong the last time so I made sure I did it right and now they are saying my password is wrong. I'll just wait. That way it will be more "perfected" and have less bugs and I'll be less frustrated. But all you ladies are on my "Help!" list with Femme. Be for-warned!

But, from what I have seen over there POM, you can still keep that private and also still have the option to block people if you want.

Yeah POM I think you should wait, cause it will be here soon enough. I take it new tech frustration isn't your forte eh POM ? See I love puzzles and computer stuff is just one big puzzle. Just relax, stay calm and take it one day at a time, and everything will be alright.

POM i think if you request a reset, you can change it back to what you use here.. Wait, what?! I can? Will it still be compatible with all of you? Ok - I feel way less dread now. Thanks, Moon! I promise to try it first though - when the real change is made! I was thinking more wine and less focus. It seems to work better for me. ;D This place was just so user friendly for me that I was even helping people more computer literate than I am to figure stuff out. I just "got" it quickly and loved everything about it. So it's perfect for me as it is. My problem and I'll adjust. I usually do when I really want to. Thanks everybody! I do feel better now about it all. I think I panicked when I read Sug rushing things on the previous page. So it's her fault.

POM---> <---Sam No one understands that POM and I are super sensitive to change. IE has screwed up my life lately and POM's recent experience was life shattering for her. Not only do I see a change in accessing Proboard, but yet again another one of my banks is going though a security change requiring a reset of access information. Oh, and all of this is for the good of the masses. I doth protest!

For a time I wondered why so many people on this board used IE, until I realized a few years ago that the old MSN boards were "high traffic" because they were one click away from the MSN.com homepage, and this was (and possibly still is) the default homepage for the IE browser. Hence our audience was slowly compiled from the set of Internet users who were too lazy to switch to a browser that didn't come with their computer, too lazy to set their home page to something other than the default home page, and too lazy to click on more than one link to access a message board. And then the whole "Why does EE exist?" question got a whole lot more perspective...

LMAO!! Actually I was bummed I got back so quick because I wasn't caught up with my work yet! I was amazed how much I got done in one day. You guys are addicting!! So come over here and finish my work since it's all your fault. mmhmm - That's good. Mine didn't and I tried it a couple of times. No biggie because - as I said - I'll just wait. Or reset. So everybody can make fun of me like they do now because I have IE. ;D

And then the whole "Why does EE exist?" question got a whole lot more perspective... You also forgot "too stupid". I do like MSN's home page and their news layout. IE was just on my computer and DH also uses it for work and it's what he knows. I put Chrome on my computer but have no idea how to use when I'm over here or to activate it. Neither does he as he's not familiar with it. And those that use Firefox and Chrome that I've talked to say "It's easy" but can't explain it to me how to use it. And somebody had talked me into putting Skype on my computer and told me it was "easy" and it took over my computer and changed my homepage and I didn't know how to fix it and they said "I don't know what to tell you" after having me put it on and promising to talk me through it. So I'm not falling for that again! What's easy for you all is not easy for me. It's just the way it is. I also have no sense of direction and get lost in a big box store. My brain is speshul. The world is changing and not in a speshul way. ;D What's really funny is back when I worked I used get special mention for being the first to implement new software or new modems or learn new technology where I worked. I was also the one that had to train those that didn't get it. Then Bill Gates came along... Ok - I've whined enough and need to cook dinner. That I know how to do!

I like a smorgasbord. ;D that's the beauty of FF though. you can have as many homepages (tabs) open when you start your browser as you want. For work, that equates to 14 tabs - all required. All i did was put all of those bookmarks into a folder, then in my preferences, where you set your home page, choose that *folder* as my homepage...add and subtract as you like but if you do, you have to manually update in your preferences as it won't pick up changes automatically.
