yes, they've had issue all day, off and and on with angry bear/ internal server error, etc.. usually a refresh works

Lone are you having issues navigating the test board ? I'll send you a pm on the tester. PM sent to you Lone. Look up onto the top and the last thing you'll see is messages and it's showing that you got a message. Click on that.

because nothing posted here is copied there real time, nor is anything posted there visible here. they are 2 completely separate entities- no communication back and forth.. so the only threads with recent posts are the ones we're actually playing around on.

But there are threads over there that I started here. Why were some threads transferred but not all? That's a copy taken just before Thanksgiving. So threads you have started since on here will not show on there. That is a time capsule test board. |

when it goes live, it will transfer everything from here into the new software, and it will then be a live board, just like this is. sort of like when you upgrade windows XP to Windows 7, it imports your content and your settings (for the most part) and you then use the new version.
for me, i will have to import all the themes i created there to this board, plus redo any custom pages ... so it will take me a short while (a day or two, maybe) to get that done.. the skins from here will come over but they won't look like they do here. nor will they look like they do there, until i convert them to themes...

 I feel so... so new! What an improvement not having to sign in and out of boards especially the help/support board. LOL, how I wish all we had to do was stick our thumb on the screen and have it automatically sign us in to whatever site we want to visit. I have a spread sheet to keep all of my ID's straight. Between the few boards I still follow and banks plus other business I have a full page of ID's. Royal pain!

My question before I go do the upgrade is this: do I have to use the email I have listed on my profile (I assume it's the one I signed up with, yet never used again.... lol) to upgrade or can I use one of my other emails? I ask because when I went to try to log in to said profile email, Microsoft told me it doesn't exist.  |

As a computer idiot I only vaguely understand what is happening. I have, I believe, been on to 'somewhere' and got a Global ID. The only thing I need to know is this.
On my 'favourites' list which I use to get on here, do I need to change anything or will 'Home to MSN refugees' still get me here?

CL did you REGISTER or SIGN IN ? It's REGISTER that you have to do for here, if this is your first Board doing so. Otherwise it's SIGN IN and LINK UP. I haven't had my coffee yet or taken my meds.

I did register. It's much to close to a holiday to be thinking this hard.  I got registered, it tells me I have to wait for approval and I'll get an email. Yippee?? ETA: are you telling me that I had to SIGN IN on that new thingy instead of REGISTER? Did I miss something reading the instructions or was that missing??? <<Runs to look>> |

Guess that's because I'm using a different email? it's because you created a NEW account instead of upgrading your existing one. when you go back to the page, click LOGIN. .not register. click LOGIN - not register - at the top enter your USERNAME from here (click LOGIN - not register - at the top enter your USERNAME from here (chocolatelover) and the password for this board. It should then prompt you to enter an email address to use to sign in in the future when it says to pick a new user name and password, you can use what you use now. |

As I read it, using the link you have been using to get here will bring you here, but you'll have to login with your Global ID even if you've checked "Keep me logged in". I may be wrong, but that's what I've understood. Therefore, rather than coming directly to the home page for the boards, you'll probably end up on the Global login page. I'll try to find out more.  |
