We had our meeting with the principal today and it went ok. We have an appointment with a specialist to discuss meds/behavior on Jan 4th.
Still stressful. And it always has to happen around Christmas!
On the bright side - we got approval for our re-fi today! We're going to a 30 year at 3.625 from a 30 year at 5%. I wanted to go with the 15 year option at 2.875, but in talking with DH we'd rather have the lower payment and flexibility. The payment will be about $200 less than what we pay now.
DH has a job interview tomorrow, so I'm hoping he'll be employed again soon - he's made it through 2 phone screens for this, so it's a 2-1/2 hour on site interview.

We're refi'ing too. Wells Fargo, 3%, no escrow, 10 years for $65K. I don't think we're paying points but there's like a 2K fee.

We're going through the same bank we have our mortgage with now. It's a local bank. I wanted (and we were approved for) a 15 year at 2.875 with no points, but DH wanted to the flexibility of a lower payment, so we got 3.625 30 year with .25 points. They offered a 3.375 30 year with 2 points, but I thought for 2 points I should get a bigger rate reduction. I'm sure if I wanted to switch banks I could have gotten 3.5 or better, but I like our bank. Closing costs are about $4K to us. Loan amount is about $190K.
Closing is 12/27 - so I'm excited. In a way though, I feel like this is my last big financial goal for this year - next year I am so far goal-less.
Owen's Holiday program is today, so I get to run out at lunch and watch him sing. Lately it seems like I've had to miss work for a kid thing 2 or 3 times a week. IEP meetings, doctor's appointments, etc. My boss hasn't said anything or even given me the impression that she'd concerned, but I'm starting to get comments from co-workers. I also feel like I'm being pulled in a million directions - housework is being slacked on, I don't have time to decorate for the holidays, maybe DS would have less issues in school if I could spend more time working with him on things, spending time on my marraige, volunteering for church and my mother's club. Lately I've been wondering if I should just quit my job, but I really like my job and I like working. I just feel like there's too much stuff to do.
I also admit I'm starting to feel a little jealous in some of the office politics. Things I used to do are being given to other people. There's a 9am meeting I used to cover for my boss for, but now someone else does it. I know that's because I don't get in until 9am because I'm putting my kid on the bus - it's not because I'm a bad employee - but it still irks me. So part of me is throwing a mini temper tantrum and wants to quit, but I know I'd be more miserable at home.

I slept through the alarm this morning and have felt like I'm trying to catch up all morning. DH made me breakfast to go while I was heading out the door so that was a nice surprise. Wonder what he wants....

What is important is what your boss thinks since she signs your paycheck. If she is all right with it then your co-workers need to MYOB. This mindset is probably why it is a good thing I work by myself.

Damn. I can hear Cabe talking to himself in his room. He should have been asleep 1.5 hrs. ago. He got to bed late last night but took a 2+ hr. nap this afternoon. Which is probably why he's up now. I've already changed a poopy pullup so that shouldn't be why he's up.
Keira had a sleepover at my older sister's house Friday night. She loved it and wants to do it again, like Sunday night. ;D She's asleep, I think. I'm not hearing her and she's staying in her room if she's awake.

Neither kid got enough sleep over the weekend. We'll cope. But I keep hugging the kids and thinking about those parents who won't be able to do that again. I'm going to have a hard time getting past it, just because of the ages my kids are.

That's what's tough for me too since my kids are 6 & 7 and that's the ages of the victims. I haven't watched or read much of the coverage.

No, we had the TV off for most of the weekend, except for football and the Disney channel. And the radio off when we were out and about. I can't say that I missed hearing about it, in all honesty.

We watched Netflix all weekend. And then hid the front page of the paper when we brought it in since both kids know how to read.

I spent most of yesterday with Owen. We made a bird feeder from a pinecone, told stories, played trains, did some coloring, etc. I kind of felt guilty for not spending enough time with him lately, so I did make it a mother-son day. He even went to bed early!
Today he was so excited for the 2 hour delay we had.

I was so excited when she told me. I think I squealed. I know I gave her a big hug and babbled about how my baby was growing up. ;D
Yeah, now we get to figure out what the Tooth Fairy brings.

We're cheap. $5 for the first tooth and a $1 for every one after.

My niece was like that! She'd rather have 20 singles than a $20. Now that she's 9 she'd rather have a $50.

Apparently a classmate got a gift instead of money. I asked what the gift was and DD didn't know. I was kinda hoping she knew and it was cheapy gift from the $ section of Target or something like that. lol.
