So, let's take a informal survey/testimony on your drinking habits (or lack there of).
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often and what types and in what situations. And in the interest of keeping this kina money related, how much do you spend on your drinks?
If you do not, why do you not consume alcoholic beverages?
And of course general thoughts on adult beverages.

I'm essentially a non drinker. I have no moral or ethical dilemma with it, but the truth is I don't really like most alcoholic beverages that much.
I'll occasionally drink a bit at special occasion as such as holiday parties and weddings. But it's not uncommon for me to go months at a time without drinking. When I do consume alcohol, it's mostly to try something I don't normally try, like a novelty.
When I do drink, I typically like hard versions of existing drinks. Like hard eggnog or cider, or rum and coke. I'll occasionally have a beer or glass of wine if I'm in a social gathering and it's offered.
Let me think... the last time I've had anything to drink was probably back in April..... The next time I'll drink will probably be Wine at Thanksgiving.

Currently:
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often and what types and in what situations. Nope If you do not, why do you not consume alcoholic beverages? I'm pregnant.
Pre-pregnancy:
Do you drink alcohol? If so how often and what types and in what situations. Yes. Once a month or so, usually a Friday or Saturday night at home. Either wine or a malt beverage. My DH can't drink due to pain medication, so I don't drink that often because I don't like to spend the money on me when he can't enjoy. If we have a date night, I might get a drink when we go out, but I find it too expensive to have a drink out too often.

If I do drink it's usually out with friends or a nice dinner with my husband. That wasn't that often to begin with, even more rare now that I have a kid. I prefer mixed drinks, I really enjoy a good mojito or martini. I probably spend $5-$10 depending on the drink. I usually only have one. Mainly because I am cheap. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been drunk. I don't really have a reason why I don't drink that much. I've never really thought about it. I guess one reason is I don't like most alcoholic beverages and those I do are kinda expensive. I'm also kinda a lightweight. I have a point of not drinking at all if I am driving. I usually only indulge if DH or someone else is driving. Better safe than sorry.

I come from a long line of drunks, and my family is always together, so I drink often. Whiskey if I'm out or at home. Beer if I'm at a relative's house.

I drank maybe once a year from the time I graduate from college until two years ago.
Two years ago, I decided to take up drinking because DH and I often went to business dinners or out with friends for fine dining. Sometimes we go out with people who drink fairly heavily and it was awkward when neither of us drank. DH doesn't drink, but considers himself a soda connoisseur and would ask lots of questions about sodas.
So, two years later, I gained weight from taking up drinking and have recently cut down to two glasses of wine, one night a week. I am back down to 119 lbs., but can still order a drink in a restaurant, so it is a good compromise.
As far as spending - maybe $30 a month. I use some hard ciders and white wines in cooking.

Yes, I drink alcohol. Almost daily -- usually wine. Red or white, I don't discriminate. I like gin and tonic in the summertime. Yum. Very refreshing. I enjoy champagne occassionally as well. Manhattans are nice too. I do not like beer. Like swamp, I don't know how much we spend on alcohol. And, I don't really care. We live within our means, and do not keep track of the cost of everything we buy.

Every couple months the guys at work might stop at a bar on the way home. If I have a good "vibe" I'll have a half-pint so that I can drive home a couple hours later (yeah, I'm a total light-weight). It used to get a lot of drama so I would often stop for a half hour or so, have a coke, and go home. I'll do that if everyone else is leaving early as well. At home I rarely buy any. If I buy wine (don't usually like it unless it's sweet and mixed with ginger ale) I'll a bottle over the course of a week. If I buy a six pack it will lasts for months. How much do I spend, less than $50 a year I'd guess. I have a bottle of vodka that's been in the cupboard for about two years now and it's over 3/4 full. When I go out with "the guys" I have the drink bought for me half the time (because they "owe" me for some reason or other, last one bought me a drink because he (and several other people) took the day off when drunk coworker was going to sit in as foreman for the day, leaving me to deal with him by myself) or I'll buy theirs because they bought for me last time without "owing" me

I drink almost daily. Vodka & Tonic. I proably spend more than I should but less than when I was going out for drinks.

I'm a weekend drinker, but I'm easily corrupted into drinking during the week. Beer is my beverage of choice. I also very much enjoy beer with steak. It's good with all other foods too, but with steak is divine.

I like to drink decent beer. I just bought some Founders Breakfast Stout. Holy crap is that good beer. A little expensive, probably around $9.99 for a 4 pack, but it is good.

Finally, a thread that is interesting to me and that I'm kind of an expert on! ;D
Yes, I drink alcohol.
I try very hard to have a glass of wine or two most days. Sometimes I try even harder and will have a bottle but that is mostly at parties that last for many hours.
When out to dinner I'll only have one or two drinks because I can buy an entire bottle for the prices they charge for one! That always bothers me.
I don't keep track of the costs because 1. I can afford it; 2. I'm lazy; and 3. It depends on what we buy and if we entertain so it's always different.
The drinks I like to have now and then during the winter months are:
White Russians Scotch and Water Brandy Champagne
During the summer months:
Margaritas Cosmopolitans or any fruity/Vodka combo Champagne
I used to love Tanqueray and Tonics with Lime but for some reason I forget about those or I don't have the ingredients when I want one.
ETA: I also cook with various wines, cream Sherry and Vermouth.

1) Yes. 2) Usually a beer or glass of wine after work a few days a week, sometimes more on the weekends (esp. if going to a party). I'm not a big fan of hard liquor except scotch/bourbon (what can I say, I was born in Kentucky...) 3) Maybe $40 a month. DH doesn't drink, so he is my built-in designated driver. The downside is that he is not very fun at parties (The ONE party we've been to at which he drank, very early in our relationship, he just sat and giggled at the wall all night.)

Wine with everyday dinners every once in a while (mostly when I'm cooking with a small portion of wine and want to use up the bottle :-) rather than let it sit in the frig for weeks on end). Cocktails and wine at family holiday parties. Champagne at weddings. That's about it. Neither of us are beer drinkers and we don't go clubbing. We don't have a budget for alcohol or track how much we spend. When I buy a bottle of wine for a recipe I'm making it's usually along with my groceries and gets lumped into that bill. But I mostly get by with the bottles of wine people bring us as host/hostess gifts . Same with hard liquor. With all we've received as gifts I haven't bought any hard liquor in forever.

I drink, mostly wine at home. The whole drinking hard liquor at home when you live alone just seemed off to me so I only do hard liquor if I have a craving for a margarita or something. And I can't drink carbonation so beer and malt beverages are out. When I go out with friends it's usually a mixed liquor drink of some kind. Frequencies vary. I tend to open a bottle when I cook anything more than a basic meal, so if I'm on a cooking spree I drink more that week. I also tend to open a bottle when I try to clean, but that's just because I hate cleaning.
ETA: Oh, price. Probably around $10 a bottle on average, less than that frequently (I've found some good $5 bottle wines), more than that not that often. I bottles of liquor several years old so I don't go through that as much.

I usually drink wine when I'm making Thanksgiving dinner. The downside is that I'm buzzing pretty good near the end, and I've had some, er, interesting results with the dishes prepared later in the evening.

Vodka and wine, at home or out. If we're out, I try and drink conservatively to go easy on DH or my father's wallet and AmEx respectively. ;D

I drank last year, my mom had to work so I took over the kitchen. The food still tasted good, but my mom near about had a heart attack because there were dishes everywhere since the tipsy me decided that grabbing a new clean bowl made more sense then trying to clean the bowl I had just used.

"I can count on one hand the number of times I've been drunk."
I've only been drunk once, maybe twice if you're feeling generous.
I got drunk a couple of years ago on purpose to see what it was like. I wasn't impressed. Got sick and had a serious hangover the next day, I don't know why people do it.
I might have gotten tipsey a bit one night in college when we all were watching V for Vedetta. I got up after the movie and stubled a bit.
And now that I think about it, the last time I did have a drink was hard cider when going out to eat with Co Workers on a business trip to Seattle in August.
Overall, I think I drink maybe 3-4 times a year and maybe 1-3 drinks on each occasion.

My husband and I drink alcohol. I mostly stick to wine (usually red) a few times a week at home. DH likes wine too, but beer more than me (especially craft stouts and porters). I will have beer occasionally but am trying to cut down on empty carbs/calories. We usually stick to under $10/bottle wines (trader joes has great cheap wine) but we occasionally spring for more expensive stuff (e.g. $30/bottle).

I will say that, as much as I drink, I've only been "drunk" a handful of times. Well, maybe two handfuls of times And I've never had a hangover, but I think that's genetic.

Not everyone gets sick, or has a hangover, or blacks out. For those that alcohol has that affect on them, I'm with you I don't get why they keep doing it and have told friends as such. (If you don't like blacking out/being hungover stop drinking that much!) For me it takes several drinks to get a buzz usually, and several more to get drunk. As I told my mom in college "Don't worry, I'm not a cheap drunk. They'll go after the ones that are "

I drink pretty much everyday. Wine with dinner and while cooking, and while cleaning, and while watching tv...., beer while watching football. Loooveee margaritas in the summer, and dirty martinis all year long. DH also drinks wine and is a big fan of specialty beers, but also loves bourbons, whiskeys and scotches. We have always loved trying different wines and we seem to drink often so we spend about $400 month on alcohol. Some months more, but that depends on whether we are buying pricier bottles of wine. Well worth the money for us though!

I like to drink beer. Bud Light and lots of it when I'm around my wife's family or when I'm watching football. Bell's 2 Hearted Ale or a seasonal if I'm in my house or out to dinner.
I'm more of a binge drinker which means 5+ beers about one night per week and nothing the other 6 days.

Do you drink alcohol? Yes
If so how often and what types and in what situations. Very often, in pretty much any situations where drinking would not be strongly frowned upon
And in the interest of keeping this kina money related, how much do you spend on your drinks? Hmmmm, I try to keep my per bottle price on wine at home fairly moderate, in the $10-$15 range. When I go out I just order what I want. Last night I had a few fancy "martinis", about $8 each.
And of course general thoughts on adult beverages. They are delicious, and I would be sad without them.
