And I've never had a hangover, but I think that's genetic.
I got hungover when we went out with one of DH's friends. I had six rum and cokes which were way more rum than they were coke.
It freaking hurt to blink.
Then I was slightly hungover in Malayasia, but I think that is because I was slightly dehydrated. Once I got some drinkable water I was fine.

Can we be friends? I'd love to be friends with someone who thinks 415 for a bottle of wine is moderate!

I don't drink at all. Not for any other reason than I don't like the taste or the feeling of being buzzed. (The warm fuzzy feeling creeps me out). I may take the random sip but the most I've ever had at one time was half a bottle of something similar to Mike's Hard Lemonade and that took me 6 hours to do. One benefit though is that I'm invited to all the parties because I can always be counted on to be the DD without argument.

Do you drink alcohol? Yes If so how often and what types and in what situations. Very often, in pretty much any situations where drinking would not be strongly frowned uponAnd in the interest of keeping this kina money related, how much do you spend on your drinks? Hmmmm, I try to keep my per bottle price on wine at home fairly moderate, in the $10-$15 range. When I go out I just order what I want. Last night I had a few fancy "martinis", about $8 each. And of course general thoughts on adult beverages. They are delicious, and I would be sad without them. I'm gonna ditto Bis here.. except my per bottle price range is in the $7-ish range.. but that's because I can get CA wine pretty cheaply here in CA... and also because I'm not quite the "Miss Fancy Pants" that Bis is... I'm nothing if not fancy! Sometimes I even pour my wine into a glass before drinking it. One day, you too shall be this awesome.

I'm more of a "situational" drinker. There have been times in my life when I drank a lot, and often, and others, like the past several years, where I barely drink at all. I'll have one or two beers if I go out with friends. I'm kind of a lightweight too and start feeling buzzed after 2 so I tend to nurse it, or maybe get a third and just keep watering it down with ice. I've been dating a guy that likes to drink, so, I have a couple drinks when we go out. So, technically, i've probably drank more, and more often, in the last couple months that the last couple years. I really can take it or leave it. I almost never drink at home, ever. I usually have a bottle of fruity wine in the fridge (blackberry merlot...that I can polish off in a heartbeat, but usually only drink it at parties or holiday's). I sometimes have beer in my fridge, sometimes not, but only drink if someone is here. I don't LOVE beer, but like a nice cold one with wings or pizza. So, I guess I spend little or nothing on alcohol, maybe $50-100 a year, sometimes closer to $0.

I do drink alcohol. Maybe 4-6 drinks a year? I'm happy to spend 5-15 on a drink in a restaurant, and occasionally spend rather less in a grocery or liquor store. This year my tally was a little higher than usual- I think I'm at 10.
I rarely drink more than one drink a go, never more than two. I just don't like the effects of alcohol beyond that point, although I can enjoy the taste.
I did try a sip of a beer my brother was drinking a few weeks ago. Tasted of bananas. Odd.

I usually have a glass of wine with dinner and maybe another after the kids go to bed. I have a drink or two if I go out to dinner with friends or at family football/birthday/holiday parties. Sometimes it's more than two if I don't have to drive. I just make sure I don't get drunk in front of my children.
I drink because I enjoy the taste, and it also helps to relax me at the end of a stressful day.
I don't know how much I spend. I've never really kept track.

How much I drink depends on the week. If we go out for football, I'll have a few beers. Depending on where else we go for dinner that week, I might order a drink.
At home we always have beer, wine and assorted liquors.
Mom's side of the family get togethers always involve drinking. Tailgates involve drinking.
As for how much I spend in a year, I have no idea.
For stuff for the house I tend to buy $10 bottles of wine, some up to $30ish. Liquor we tend to drink some higher end stuff but the stores here have great prices. Beer it all depends on the time of the year and what we buy.
If I'm out and I want it, I will generally order it. Yes, I could have nearly bought a case of Sam Adams by the time I drink 3 tall Octoberfests but I'm out with friends having a good time.

I'm a "situational" drinker too. Every situation is better with a glass of wine!! I'm with MM and bis, wine is tasty I have at least a glass of wine pretty much daily, I pour a glass while cooking dinner and top off as I'm relaxing for the night. I don't really keep track of how much I spend on it, but most of my day-to-day stuff is around $10/bottle. I've got a few labels I like that are more expensive, and if I feel like grabbing that bottle at the grocery store, I do. if I venture outside the wine racks, I also like vodka and whiskey. those get pricey when I'm out with friends, so I usually end up DD'ing because I don't drink as much as the beer crew.

I drink pretty much everyday. Wine with dinner and while cooking, and while cleaning, and while watching tv...., beer while watching football. Loooveee margaritas in the summer, and dirty martinis all year long. DH also drinks wine and is a big fan of specialty beers, but also loves bourbons, whiskeys and scotches. We have always loved trying different wines and we seem to drink often so we spend about $400 month on alcohol. Some months more, but that depends on whether we are buying pricier bottles of wine. Well worth the money for us though! But with beer, wine and vodka! Oh, and sometimes Baileys ;D Whatever, don't judge ETA: Oh, yeah, I'm drinking a glass of wine right now

I gave up the mixed drinks for the most part when I had DD. Not for any real reason other than I am too cheap. Although the BL Lime-a-ritas are pretty good, IMO. Most of the time I prefer a nice, dark beer or some wine. I don't really discriminate on the wine - red, white, sweet, dry, its all good. As for frequency, I like to have a drink 2-3 times a week after DD is in bed. Usually just one glass of wine or two beers, but sometimes I spring for a 2nd/3rd. And I am not above drinking the Aldi/Trader Joe's $3 bottles of wine, although I prefer the $5-7 bottles. I won't spend much more than that. I have been known to buy the gallon jugs for $10 or the box wines when on sale. And its almost a given - if I am posting here after 9pm, I am probably reading & drinking. Sorry...

I'm too lazy to drink on my own usually. I'll occasionally get a cocktail when DH and I go out to dinner, but he doesn't drink so I probably drink less as a consequence. On the other hand, going out to dinner for work pretty much always means drinking. I try to keep that to no more than 1-1/2 drinks both so I can drive home and also because last time they tried to liquor me up and then pump me for gossip Oh, I like mixed drinks--especially sidecars or strawberry daiquiris I'll drink wine if it's socially indicated but I try to stick to kinds I know won't trigger a migraine, which is a pretty short list

I currently don't drink much - maybe 2 Adult beverages every couple of months. I've never been a big drinker - which seems odd considering I'm part of a family with alot of high functioning drunks. I personally don't find drinking fun or liberating or enjoyable - I only get a buzz for about 30 miniutes to an hour and then after that I just feel sick - no matter how much more I continue to drink. When I was drinking more (back in my 20's) I could down 5 or 6 shots/mixed drinks or a couple of glasses (the big kind) of wine before I'd get a buzz/feel different/whatever. I wasn't all that impressed with the 'feel good' the "feel bad" was too closely related to it and lasted alot longer. 3 years ago I wanted to loose weight so one of the first things I did was to stop drinking calories (other than milk). Once I joined Weight Watchers I continued the 'no liquid calories - except for milk' - but since nothings really off limits on WW - I do have a social drink or two (versus a social drink or 4 -5) if it's something I want to do. Less calories and no 'feel bad' - emotionally or physically win win I have to admit I don't quite understand why people seem to enjoy getting drunk so much - it's highly unpleasant for me.

I don't currently drink, I think I might have quit.
I used to have about 1-2 drinks a year so hard to tell if I really quit or just didn't have any this year, I think I had one in 2011.
I don't spend money on alcohol so will only have a drink while camping or maybe a half glass of wine at someone's house usually a holiday.
I think they are fine if you enjoy them and don't drink and drive or cause health issues or financial issues.
I had a few drinks as a child then quit from 18-35 so never got used to drinking. The year after my divorce I drank about one drink a day, so I tried everything I had ever heard of and wasn't impressed.
I might not have quit if someone offers me something interesting I might sample it. I had diabetes this year and alcohol is bad for blood sugar and has calories so I might just never have another drink.

Sometimes it's more than two if I don't have to drive. I just make sure I don't get drunk in front of my children. ------------ Uh oh! That's at least 14 drinks a week. Moderate or “low-risk” drinking Research shows that people who drink moderately may be less likely to experience an alcohol use disorder (AUD). These drinking levels, which differ for men and women, are: For men: No more than 4 drinks on any single day AND no more than 14 drinks per week For women: No more than 3 drinks on any single day AND no more than 7 drinks per week www.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohol-health/overview-alcohol-consumption/moderate-binge-drinkingwww.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohol-health/overview-alcohol-consumption/moderate-binge-drinkingThat won't do at all! May I suggest you replace half of those drinks with a few doobies, in order to remain within normal paremeters?

I average about 1 drink a day. Mostly a glass of wine. But sometimes beer or a mixed drink. We have 8 cases of wine in the basement right now. Mostly red. We spend $10 to $40 per bottle. If I have a cocktail after work, I usually skip the wine. We drink more cocktails in the summer. Drinks at home are gin and tonic, margaritas, mai tai, and if I feel like the work, lemon drops. When I go out I will try more exotic specialty cocktails. I drink more beer now than when I was younger, mostly because I discovered craft beer. Also DS home brews, so we have 6 cases of beer around here also. My favorite beers are browns, porters, doppelbocks, and chocolate stouts. DS made a chili beer that was awesome last summer. A light ale with a hint of heat from Anaheim and Serrano peppers. But I think my most favorite of all are mimosas with a weekend brunch

Great job on starting your disaster preparedness! My friends were saying the same thing to me this past week "if you lose power you can stay warm for a few months with all the alcohol you have in the house!" I can't say I'm as prepared food wise...priorities...

Vodka and wine, at home or out. If we're out, I try and drink conservatively to go easy on DH or my father's wallet and AmEx respectively. ;D Basically what she said. I can go for months without drinking anything though. DH doesn't drink alcohol at all so it rarely makes sense to buy a bottle of wine for me to have a glass. I live in a staunch non drinking area and the closest liquor store is a decent ride. I don't just pop over to buy a bottle because of how far it is. I tend to buy vodka more than wine because the bottle doesn't get stale quickly. I have had an open bottle of vodka last six months or more from time to time. I have no idea how much because some years it could be less than $20 for the whole year and others as much as $10 a month.

I like to drink a glass or two of wine a few nights a week. On date night DH and I party like rock stars. I tend to spend less than $10 on wine. We like to drink at the golf course where the drinks are poured with a heavy hand and they charge about $6-8 per drink, which is practically a bargain.

Note before reading: I'm mostly Irish and DH used to be a bartender. Right now I'm not drinking much because I am nursing, and also because I feel like the holidays get very very drinky in our circle, and am taking a pre-emptive respite. Normally, though, I would drink between 1-3 glasses of wine/night on any given night. If we go out for dinner we usually order a couple beers or a bottle of wine, if we go out with my parents we order cocktails and then wine. DH likes to drink whiskey or bourbon and will have a glass at home. I'm a total champagne slut - love the stuff, and my family's house is awash in it pretty much from Thanksgiving to New Year's. As far as cost, we drink cheap wine at home (the boxed stuff from Target, it actually doesn't totally suck) with occasional more nice bottles thrown in (anywhere from $8/bottle from TJ's to $25/bottle). We don't really track home much/month though. I used to, but then it got depressing.

Yes, I drink wine at home or out with dinner. Sometimes I will have cocktails instead of wine. My favorite wine is about $10 a bottle. I would like to have a glass a night but I don't let myself do that because I find myself really wanting a glass on a stressful day. I have a lot of alcoholism in my lineage so I just don't indulge as often as I'd like to.
If you do not, why do you not consume alcoholic beverages? N/A
And of course general thoughts on adult beverages. As an adult child of an alcoholic (now sober for 10+ years) I can say that I feel so sorry for families who experience alcoholism. My dad was a completely functioning alcoholic and it was hard. I can't imagine what children endure growing up in homes where there's a raging alcoholic.

I have terrible taste in wine. I like the alcoholic Koolaid varieites. Had to switch my brand of wine because whenever I served it, folks would say 'This takes me back to high school'. Currently blueberry wine, blackberry wine and margaritas are my drink of choice.
