The hospital to have a baby. We'll try to go to my parents in March 2013. Then we have a group vacation to the Current River in June 2013. Our only big trips on our radar are to Florida to see our niece graduate college in hopefully May 2014 and to Portland, Or to see our other niece graduate high school in June 2015. After that, we might actually take some vacations, but I have no desire to take a huge vacation with two small children.

...probably Oregon... we the Pacific Northwest... Ha! I live in Oregon year round. Most of our trips are trying to get somewhere nice in the winter! But yeah, short trips are great. This weekend we go to Seattle to see DS. 2 weeks ago DH and DD went to the San Juan Islands 4 weeks ago we went to the coast. And last summer to Ashland for the Shakespeare festival

In 9 days I will be lying on a mexican beach, cocktail in hand!!! Woo-hoo! Doing weekend in DC in November with some friends/in-laws to eat oysters and listen to blues apparently. I was not in charge of this event. I'd love to get away in February, but I don't have anything planned yet. Suggestions? Just a couple days, someplace warm and preferably cheap. Poor thing, there are much better things to do in DC! Actually, it's a fancy shmancy to-do. DC's "premier wine and oyster event" or something. I think it'll be a good time. Not sure what's on the agenda for the rest of the weekend.

We are talking about going to southern california next week. We are skiing in Utah around New Year's. I don't know about spring break or next summer.

Well hopefully the wine is good! It should be! There's some wine competition beforehand, usually with some interesting judges, and they serve the winners during the event. Yay for wine!!!

I love oysters! Though a few hours of nothing but oysters and wine might get a little rough.

I have no life. Aw, don't say that, SK. I don't have any trips planned either, but I still feel like I have a life. Me too. I haven't been at my job long enought to get a good block of time accrued. Plus no room to budget for trips like some of the others. But I did go on a weekend getaway this summer to one of our National Parks in the southern part of the state. My friend won a weekend stay at one of the cabins. It was awesome, and I think we're going to try to make a yearly "girls weekend" every year.

My old stomping grounds in AZ Nov 14th-19th. We'll start out a couple days early and stop at the cabin in So. CA.
Christmas in Portland, OR with MIL.
Nothing else planned until Fall when I hope to hike Mt. Kenya and go on an African Safari.
Too much work at the house and I will need to train for the hike.
ETA: Will probably need to spend some time in San Diego in May and June. I think my renters in the condo will probably move out when their lease is up at the end of June.

We've started planning our next trip too. We're renting a Juicy RV from San Francisco, and driving up to Lake Tahoe through gold country. From there we head down the Sierras to Yosemite. Then down to Sequoia National Park. Northeast through Death Valley. Then Vegas or Lake Mead. Then up to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Possibly through Zion National Park since it's up that way somewhere, but I'm not sure how far. Finally swinging around the Grand Canyon on the east side through the painted desert, maybe the south rim of the Grand Canyon, then dropping the RV off in Las Vegas and flying home.
We may cut out the drive up to Tahoe through gold country, since we've already kind of done it. My kids have driven back and forth between the bay area and northern Arizona plenty of times, but we always go just to see family and they've never seen any of the sites along the way.
Right now I don't even know if I'll have a job at the end of November, so who knows when we'll actually take the trip.

DBF just bought our 3 day pass for PAX East in March. He's been before and really enjoyed it, so that should make a fun 3-4 day weekend. We both want to go back to Hawaii next summer, and he wants to try to do a week in Japan to visit his sister who lives just outside Tokyo, so we may do a week there and a week in Maui, if we can coordinate the time off. Then next November, my biking family is doing a week long organized ride through the Florida keys. I'm hoping to have the time/budget to squeeze in a weekend in NYC with my brother for his 30th birthday in January, a weekend in Vegas just because I <3 Vegas, and some random weekend road trips, hopefully to Chicago and Rocky Mountain National Park. I'm really going have to tighten my budget travelign skills to make all this happen though!

Dark I envy you! Nothing else planned until Fall when I hope to hike Mt. Kenya and go on an African Safari.Bonny forgot to mention that she is flying through Paris either on the way there, or on the way back, because her BFF lives here, as well as me. Right, Bonny?! ;-) We are going to the south of England later this month for DH's Aunt's 80th BD. Just quiet time with DH's family, plus probably a couple of days in London too. And we're driving, because for three people, driving is MUCH cheaper than taking the Eurostar. NO other travel plans at all, last summer pretty much blew that out of the water (no regrets though!)

Costa Rica is beautiful and the food is amazing! Driving there is insane. Teen tiny winding roads + big trucks + giant potholes + one lane bridges. If you rent a car, get full coverage and pray.

Dividend, we swam with the dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon. It was on my "bucket list" and I preferred to do it there than at some Disney resort.
We also LOVED the Butterfly Center / Museum in Key West. It was raining the day we arrived so we went, and we all LOVED it! The best part were the quails, they were so funny lol!

And for those of you going to Costa Rica, we only spent a few days there a few years ago. We spent a month in Panama because DS1 was working in Panama City on a gap year during grad school.
Per DS1's recommendation, we stayed at La Leona Ecolodge, on the outskirts of Corcovado National Park. Corcovado is the most biodiverse national park in the world. It took us FOREVER to get there, but it was SO WELL worth it. They have both a lodge and a campground. DS1 and his friend stayed in the campground, but he (rightly) suggested we stay at the lodge.
It is the only place I have ever travelled to that I dream of going back to. I want to walk further into the park to the research station.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested but I'm going to bed now so I'll only see it in a day or two. It is NOT the part of CR where the resorts are though.

Things are pretty dull for now. I have 2 trips uploaded to tripit.com. One is to Springfield, MO for a Diocesan Convention next month and the other is a hotel booking in May, 2013 for the Berkshire-Hathaway meeting in Omaha. Like, woo-hoo.
We will go to Myrtle Beach over Christmas to visit my parents- that can be planned at the last minutre because we drive there and hotels are always available in December. In 2014 we'll take another Innersea Discveries cruise of Alaska- loved the last one. We're also planning a trip to Maine around this time next year.

Nothing planned, but I did just get my renewed passport and am determined to use it! The last one expired without ever being used ;(. I'd love to go back to France. I REALLY want to go to an island in the South Pacific, but, that's a huge dream. Don't have the money, or anyone to go with, or anyone to watch my dogs for that long...someday... It sucks to not have a travel buddy. I'd like to even do a long weekend in the Carribean. I will almost definitely go to Florida in March for spring training and to visit mom. I go almost every spring but couldn't this year and really missed it. May get down to visit mom before then, if I find a great deal on airfare, I don't need much time to plan.

There are so many places I *want* to go but won't get there any time soon. I have already planned a trip to Alaska and one to Ireland and one to England. Now, if my travel budget would just magically and spontaneously self-replicate several times over I'd be out of here.
We do have various road trips planned though over the next year or so for lacrosse tournaments and the college search for DSs.
As I like to say, "it's good to get out of [my town] now and then for a fresh perspective even if it's just to the town next door".

Going to my basement in late Oct.
HAVE to replace my furnace and a/c. that is eating up ALL the budgeted $$ for vacations in 2013 and 2014.
