I love Abby and Brittany. And, Hoarders. And Intervention. And all kinds of shows about mentally disturbed people!

It seems like the only point of reality TV anymore is to find the biggest train wrecks they can, and televise a highly edited version of their lives so the rest of us can laugh at them and feel better about ourselves. I don't see the point. I'm happy enough with my life that I don't need to make fun of the less fortunate to feel better about it.
I used to like the "reality" game shows though. Survivor, Amazing Race, etc. We don't watch those much anymore either. After a few seasons you've kind of already seen it. I still like the Biggest Loser though. It's one of the few shows about actually helping people, instead of making fun of their circumstances.

I love Amazing Race. They have to actually meet deadlines, race the clock and do real cultural challenges based on which country they're in at the time. It's one of the more real "reality" shows since there's very little (if anything) that can be 'staged' or scripted in that show.
ETA: The new season of Amazing Race (21?) premiers this Sunday nite on CBS.

And, the 17 yr old daughter and sis of Honey Boo Boo just gave birth in the season finale. And, the baby was born with an extra thumb. I mean, could they really write a better script? But, i love how this family just takes things in stride. I am sure some people might feel sad or devastated in a similar situation. But, they just went with it and it didn't seem to bother them in the least. And, "pumpkin" was "high sixing" the baby. They really are a loving family in their own way. And, Sugar Bear who is HBB's redneck dad has a gay brother and HBB calls him 'Uncle Poodle" in a really endearing way. You guys are missing out on a good show!

You guys are missing out on a good show! ---------------- I saw it one and a half times and I found it beyond gross. Farting in public, overeating, especially roadkill, wallowing in the mud and "shopping" from a dumpster I could do without.

It's the 21st century version of travelling freak shows. Point and laugh, then go home, feeling grateful you're not one of those people.

I think it's more than probable hell is nothing more than being tied into a vinyl Lazy-Boy and forced to watch reality TV for eternity.

A new show on TLC called "Secret Princes" is pretty cool. 4 young male princes from overseas are in Atlanta working minimum wage jobs, living together and trying to find true love. Pretty interesting so far.

Is anyone watching DWTS or the Voice? I really dont' want to watch retreads of DWTS. I have seen them and i don't want to watch them again. Put some new people on. And, i am kind of getting burned out on singing shows.

Reality game shows are more for me - I watch Wipeout so much it's so funny! Got into watching Hard Core Pawn - but Ashley got on my last nerve!! Was watching Lizard Lick - but Bobby, well felt bad for Bobby and just lost interest. Was watching Billy the Exterminator until I saw similar pest control shows or scenes from another show or movie, which pointed out how Billy is OVER dramatic, the show became a joke to me and I lost interest. I watch Fear Factor when they show it. GF is another story she watches a few...oh I like Dog The Bounty Hunter, but they didn't get a new contract for another season

I can watch it for a little while cause Christina .....she is really sexy and turns me on so then I stop watching the rest of the show. To watch an entire show she has to be wearing the right clothing, but usually she is barely dressed showing a lot of skin.

And the term "reality TV" is an oxymoron when it comes to most shows of this nature. Especially the trash on TLC - that's not entertainment - it's just garbage taking up television airspace like an overcrowded landfill.

I am one to talk uh huh huh because I have a collection of Elvis movies given to me. It is a bit dodgy doing the Elvis lip in public, because this day and age, someone would take offense, thinking I am giving a dirty look.

I like Dance Moms and now we are watching Abby Lee Miller's Ultimate Dance Competition. Unbelievable that some of these young girls can dance like pros. Once girl is only 6 and is really talented. Fun to watch the moms having their catfights. lol ;D

Anyone watching any of the Sister Wives shows? I don't understand why they moved to Vegas and why they are buying 4 individual homes versus one large home and living together. I don't get that.

I always watched Hoarders. It's revolting, vomit-inducing and mesmerizing, all at the same time. Then one of the guys from my neighborhood was on it!!!
