Good question, Saving 4 Norway I'm waiting for June 2nd, when over $825 of monthly payments will be finished. Since June- August are low-expense months, I'm intending to use the time to sock away a good chunk of savings.

I can't wait to get my house and to be completely debt free. A cabana boy would be nice too.

I can't wait until I figure out how to put the chart on my post. I also can't wait until I get my Covenant Card (free gym day care and 16 hours/month of free child watch)! Soon as I get the CC, I'm going to put my girls in the hourly care for a few hours every week and go sell my plasma.

Saving4Norway - The cabin is a family property that my brother and I want to make sure we keep in the family. Trust me, if this wasn't already something that we had we would not be working on it now, but we LOVE it anyway. My parents are not going to be able to afford to put the money into it to do some needed updates so we are trying to figure out a way to go into joint ownership. I told my parents I needed 3 years to get my part of the "down payment" together because I don't want to take a loan for it. We still have to work on the legal aspect, but that can come later for now DH and I will just save, save, save!

Just checking in - I'll update my goal info sometime later this month. I can't believe that we already as a group have over 75k saved and it's only February. Woohoo!!!!! I hope you are feeling better from your sinus infection, Norway. I, myself, have a bit of oral surgery tomorrow so I get a few recovery days at home too.

The Home - if you take a look at the file I've attached, it is the basis for creating your own nifty chart. It was originally posted on the first page of posts and I think it was message 23 or 24. I hope this helps you out.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day, I've come by a day late but wanted to share my love for all you ladies on WIRS To everyone who has the sniffles (I've been off the board due to cold/flu too) - stay bundled up and get well soon! writer88 - from your words of wisdom waaaay back on 2/4 lol - that's a good heads up and definitely something to be mindful of! I definitely do not want to be the sole decision maker in the relationship, so we've decided on a his-hers-ours approach to finances and the "our" pot will require both our inputs. Hope June 2nd comes quickly for you YAY! Saving4Norway - I am eagerly waiting for our official house hunting search to begin (tentatively slated for summer 2011) with the intent of actually buying by end of 2011 or beginning 2012!!

So many new fabulous posts!! Sending good karma to you all! mak - If you tell me your avatar photo is taken from your cabin I'm going to throw myself on the floor and roll around in jealousy! Seriously, though, is it a beach cabin, mountain cabin...? Either way I'm still drooling with envy. We are part owners in a similar family property situation except it's a crappy beach trailer on the Washington coast. (And if right now you're saying to yourself "I didn't know the State of Washington had nice coasts!" You're right, they don't, it's just a sandy stretch that gets rain 360 days of the year.) kansas - Oral surgery!?!? You poor wooliegirl! I'm sending you a special karma for speedy recovery. Or really good painkillers. The Home - Your table is fabulous! You know... with categories like 'dress, fabric, and flowers' it sounds like a wedding is brewing! Just a coincidence? SaverBee - I'm sorry to hear that you've had the flu, too. Thank you for the Valentine wishes, you are too sweet. You mention "our" house search... do you have your special Mr. SaverBee in mind?? Do tell!

S4Norway~OMG, I didn't even realize how my table could be construed! No, no wedding in my future for a LOOOOOONG time! DH and I are happily married and my 2 girls are 4 and 2. (a little young yet). Besides, the people over at YM would excoriate me if I spent $1,000 on a dress that I was only going to wear one time. I'm hoping to buy at least 10 dresses with my dress fund. I am really into the pin-up and retro style dresses. And the 'flower' fund is flowers for my garden, which will come back year after year. Or for as long as we stay in this house. Fabric is for my quilting projects and also DH wants me to make curtains. I'm so crafty...

Saving4Norway - The picture is not from our family cabin, but is from the lake that our family cabin is on. The lake is beautiful and we are on the lake. No beach, just rocks and a dock, but awesome either way. The cabin itself is only about 900 sq feet and there is not indoor pluming, but the $$ is to work on this in the future.

S4N - My BF of 6 years and I are going 50-50 on the house, and have begun marriage talks eep! An engagement is in the works lol, but will probably happen after the home purchase mak - I agree the lake looks so beautiful and serene, what a great getaway spot! kansas- wishing you a speedy recovery too! twin mama - only 2 more days till your refund YAY! The Home 6 - I love fashion (though I'm no fashionista )...do you have a wish link of the 10 dresses already? If not, I hope you come back and share pics of the dresses, it'll be great to see the rewards at the end of the savings "rainbow" Come to think of it, it'd be cool to see images of our successful goal purchases...I don't have any myself yet, as the money is still sitting in savings and I haven't actually purchased any of my goal items.

UPDATE: HappyCat: Cat Stash $605; Christmas $5
I am going home to see my MomCat this weekend so most of my savings will be used for that which is OK because I knew it was coming and I saved for it. =) I received my first tiny paycheck from the new job (3 days) so I'm in the system and I will be back on track with regular paychecks starting March 2. Also, my first $125 direct deposit from the new job hit savings today! Woo hooo!! So all systems are go and I'm going to try not to spend all my cash during my trip.

I'm trying to put any extra money I get into my house savings. I can't wait till they start. My aunt told me I should just stay in my apartment instead of buying a house. I don't think I'll listen to her this time. I really want to move into my own house.

sealy - we have the same house savings goal, I'll cheer you on! Do you mind sharing what kind of sculpture you are saving up for? I visited Albuquerque, NM last year and did a quick tour of the art district where there were a lot of beautiful sculpture galleries.
HappyCat - have fun visiting MomCat, I'm sure you'll find some low cost ways to enjoy your time out there!

saverbee - I don't mean to be selfish but its a one of a kind sculpture that I will get once I save for it. I don't want to say what it is until I have it in my house. You can see some of his other work at ben victor dot com. I will definitely be cheering for you to get your house. I appreciate you for cheering me on too.
jenna30 I like those shoes they are perfect with that dress.
