BTW I think Archie's wife meant she spent $200 THAT DAY. The other $400 was spent different days.

I took it as she only spent the $200 on the kids (which answered his question) but the rest was on her or the household, etc.

...:::"btw does anyone know what cawaui means? is it his name or first intial, last name, or some word in Haitian?":::... He's explained that its the first syllable each of his first middle last. I always mentally read it as "cah-wee-owh" Or he could say its similar to the japanese word for cute (kawaii!) ETA: if you think cawiau is a mouthful, remember when he briefly changed his screen name to "time to save and increase net worth". (this is the crap thats in my head instead of important things like relatives birthdays )

You mean, your wife isn't bold? Sometimes yes. However, if you're asking whether she is bold enough to brag about repeatedly kiting checks, the answer is no.

.(this is the crap thats in my head instead of important things like relatives birthdays ) Your poor wife/family. Sadly, my head's the same way. Full of crap I have no real need for and the stuff I do need doesn't stick. Luckily, I still remember how to get home.

Well, I know the main ones (Mom, Dad, Sister, Wife). Thank goodness everything else is in my phone!
But did you know that a team of scientists did manage to create a version of transparent aluminum, and that it has more in common with a ceramic than a metal?

That question is what made me research it in the first place.

I'm still not sure how Thyme having a happy, healthy relationship with her spouse turned into her harboring secret sick desires! I think I missed an exit ramp somewhere back there... I'm pretty sure those sick desires contribute to the happiness of said marriage...... just saying.... or at least to toe curling sex...

My husband's unimportant things are the ability to name the starters for the 1982 Phoenix Suns, etc. And when one of them was traded, who they were traded for. But, heaven forbid he remembers his mother's birthday. LOL.

Didn't you hear? I'm sexually apathetic.

Back to the topic . . . (and I read every post to get to this point):
Archie, I do think she deliberately took your question literally. She probably did spend $200 on the kids' clothes. Then she spent more on shoes. She also then picked up a few things for herself. But she didn't exactly lie. She only spent $200 on the kids' clothes. That is probably what you asked her.
I have a daughter just like this. Her husband is a lawyer and learned to understand this about her. So he always asks the question twice with a "really" attached the second time. The second time she answers the "truth." She doesn't think of it as lying because she feels she is answering the question that was asked.

I figured a few people would pick up on it. Whats fascinating to me is the possibility of actually using the stuff. Its expensive right now, but I wonder whether it would make good glasses or windows or windshields or whatever?

I fantasize about pooping in front of someone else. Are we talking about pooping at the office and leaving the stall door open so someone catches you in the act, or are we talking strolling up to your neighbor's yard and squatting near their mail box while they sit and sip lemonade on their front porch? 'Cause the second option would be way more fun, I think.

LOL - One of my neighbor's beloved dogs was put down recently, and a couple days later I saw the neighbor on her usual walk, but this time with her husband, not her dog. I said "Was she so lonely that you had to come on her walk with her." And he answered "Yes, but people think I'm weird for shitting on their lawns. They just don't understand." He is hilarious.

Just so long as DH doesn't figure out that DD has been shopping at Buckle and Buckle is very expensive.
DH is probably going to hear about it from someone who has teenagers and doesn't want to keep up with the bean family.
My Mom told me to hang stuff in my closet and then when someone asks if it is new, I can just say no it has been in my closet for a while.
Mheh. I usually don't bother. DH can drop a good amount when he goes shopping too. He rarely questions me, and when he does I think it is because someone else (in a lower income bracket) brought it up.

I've heard this usually works pretty well. Most men don't know purses and shoes enough to tell she is lying when she says "nah this old thing?".
My mother had a friend who would hide her purchases in her car trunk and bring it in a little at a time over the course of a few weeks.
