If you bought 8 would you get two cats? or do you have to do separate transactions? You will have to do separate transactions.

OMG, I can't believe it. On 8/19 Rite Aid is doing the GC deal AGAIN!! I guess they know that I want to get out of RA so they keep doing this deal to keep me in. Dancin: Are the home improvement ones included in this deal?

Well, Wags shoppers, I guess it's official that they are switching to a loyalty card program. BFF and I were there yesterday to get the free Glade and Lipton tea and the manager came over to talk to us and was telling us all about it. He said it will be starting in September and you will have to have the card to get sale prices. He talked about it being a "point" system but did not say anything about RR's, and I didn't ask as we were kind of in a hurry, but it doesn't sound like they will continue. Let's hope this is a positive change cuz I could count on one hand how many "deals" I've done at Wags this whole YEAR so far...

Dancin I have yet to get the $3/$10 J4U deal but I most likely would NOT use it because Safeway is 2-3x the price of my fruit/veg markets.
Just went over my Safeway J4U and Albertsons deal matches. Not much on J4u-may/may not hit. NOT matching the 1 item I want at Albertsons-AGAIN!!!!
Had my FREE breakfast at Corner Bakery. It is a medium size cup of cold oatmeal mixed w/yogurt, raisins, lots of chopped tart apple, a few banana slices and topped w/some berries (imagine seasonal, mine was strawberries & blueberries). I was VERY surprised at how good it actually was. However, for $4.79 I will NOT go back. It did not seem to be filling for me and I ate slowly. It s/b quite easy to replicate.

Personally, I don't have an issue with a loyalty card, they seem rather standard now to get "sale" prices anyway....CVS has one, Safeway/Dominicks has one, Jewel/Albertsons has one, I understand Rite Aid has one.... However, in the comments section on Wild for Wags, many people were stating that the card does not replace RR's, it's in addition to RR's. I guess time will tell. ETA: As for "personalized deals" at Wags, most of us know how accurate Safeway is on J4U can't be much worse, can it?

Constanz - if its like the trial program was, the points replace the RRs for most deals (there were still a couple, but I don't know if that was due to the fact that everyone else still had RRs or if they plan to keep some). The points are worthless, IMO. They are based on OOP spending (less tax). You only get points for whole dollars. There are some based on just buying a product though (500 points for Lysol, for example), but those didn't seem as common. And it takes a LOT of points to get anything.

Constanz: I'm like you: I haven't done anything at WAGS in a very long time. I seem to switch between RA and CVS. So happy they alternate the good deals at both. But I do seem to be in a "not interested" mode. I have both the $5/$15 cosmetic CRT and $3/$15 beauty CRT but can't motivate myself to work up a deal. Oh well...That's how it goes sometimes. I was happy to see that the Nature Valley Protein granola bars are on sale this week at Safeway: $2 wyb 4 (it's mix/match so lots of items to choose from). I have some .60 and .70 q's I can use on those. They good for a quick snack or to take on the road. saveinla: I wonder if those will generate the $2 CAT?

Trust me, any changes at WAGs will be in the corporation's favor and not ours. The corporation is interested in one thing only - their bottom line...as it should be. And let's face it; we've been outed and the manufactures and retailers are responding . It is obvious based on the restrictions that increasing numbers of manufacturers are placing on the coupons that they issue and on the reduction in deals at the drug chains. It was one thing for "a few people" to be doing what we all have been doing here as a community since 2007, but how many hundreds of thousands of people have joined the party since the advent of EC?
And if WAGs discontinues RRs or even drastically limits them, it will be very interesting to see how CVS and Rite Aid respond. Will it have a domino effect? Are the days of getting freebies by using coupons and rolling rewards winding down? Did we really think that all of this was going to last forever? Based on my experience in 2003 when the opportunity for me to get doubled coupons at Vons was cut, I certainly didn't.
It's time to seriously evaluate what you have and what you need and buy accordingly....just in case.

Actually, the $3/$10 when combined with the sales prices has had my ethnic markets beat. I combine it with produce that is already a great deal in the week it is offered. This week the $3/$10 has allowed me to get grapes for $.55/lb and hot house cucumbers for $.70 ea.

Sorry. At CVS, the CG flipblast lipstick (different color on each side ) is 8$ each. Buy 2, use 5/15 , 2*2.5 MQ from a recent parade and get back 3 ECB. If you buy 9$ worth of more covergirl, you can send in for a 5$ rebate from P&G and use the 3$/15 also. HTH

Dancin Around here that is NOT true on produce prices at safeway even if I had a $3/$10 instead of the 20% I got. Comparison:
Cantalope S=2.49/2 Mkt =$1/2 vine Tomatoes S=1.99/lb Mkt=.89/lb avacado S=$1 Aldi=0.49 strawberries S 2.49/lb Mkt & Aldi $1 or less/lb sweet corn S=0.40 ea, mkt 0.20 ea

Totally forgot I had written this in Word when I posted my response to Dancin.
I don’t have an issue w/using a loyalty card either. They have been around at the natl grocery chains well over 10 years. In fact, IF they are programmed w/limits (like CVS) it may just helping getting the 1-2 of an item I might want later than 20 min after the store opens on a Sun morning. My WAG purchases are SOOOO erratic since I buy stuff for my Dad (efferdent, polygrip, depends…..) too that I would NOT expect to be tracked for personalized deals let alone my ‘experience w/J4U.
Has anyone noticed the duplication of items between 8/12 WAG and 8/19 CVS? I see that a LOT!!! I am sure mfgs offers the deals to both chains fairly regularly and similarly.

Well, tonight we've been invited to a barbecue by the lake. The host will be the parents of the gal DS has been seeing for the last 9 months. I guess her folks want to meet us....well, me. They've already briefly met DH. DS's GF said that I have to be on my best behavior.

Rite Aid: Compared to last week, this week was a mild week of shopping. I spent $4.02 OOP and saved $31.72 on 2 dozen eggs, 2 Mentos, 1 nail polish remover pad, 10 boxes of Ziplock freezer bags and 5 garden hose sprayer attachements that were clearance to $.32 each. I'm tired of spending money on good hose attachments so will see how long these cheapie ones will last. My garden is popping out the tomatoes like crazy and I wanted freezer bags to freeze them. I'll can marinara sauce when the weather is cooler so the freezer bags will come in handy.
After spending the past 3 weeks doing intensive "spring" cleaning, I now have to find some good deals on cleaning supplies. Meijer used to have an awesome deal on Lysol products every summer, but this year we haven't seen anything.

Hit it lucky at the Kohl’s near my Dad. They had New Balance walking shoes (my fav) on sale for $45, in my size AND I had a 30% off coupon. This is AMAZING as I was in the store in a MUCH better area (higher income, more expensive homes, more SFH than apts) a couple days before and found NADA.
Had a BIG ($5/$5) Meijer mPerks coupon. Had planned what I would get. However, my store is 1 of 3 in metro Chicago that does NOT always follow the regional ad. They have for the last >month but NOT this week. Bought 2 bags of cat food (on sale $7/2) with coupons and walked out paying 0.50 + tax. This was the first time I have ever used mPerks and it went ‘slick as snot.’
As if I were not ready to start clucking already, one of the independent grocers near my Dad has boneless, skinless chicken breast on sale for $1.49 and several other things I could use or need to stockpile (28 oz canned tomatoes $1).

Well, I went and stocked up on cereal and granola bars yesterday at Safeway. They are having a great sale on both. So, for $21 I got: 4 boxes Fiber One Bars 4 boxes NV Granola bars 3 boxes Wheat Chex 2 boxes Cheerios 1 box Cinnamon Toast Crunch 4 boxes fruit snacks 1 large bag Flammin' Hot Cheetos (DD2 loves these and DH & I won't touch them) 36 pack light string cheese
The string cheese by itself was $7.99 on sale so I think I did well on the other stuff. All things we will eat--well, except for the Cheetos which will be DD2's guilty pleasure.
Box the Fiber One and Nature Valley bars generated $2 cats so I have $4 to spend. I'll use in conjunction with my $3/$10 produce to get bananas (.45 lb. J4U price), grapes .79 lb on sale, 4 lb. bag of oranges $1.99 J4U price, and probably some nectarines or blueberries.

DS's GF's family is wonderful. They're genuine and hard-working, salt of the earth type of people. We got to meet her folks, her youngest sister, her aunt, uncle, and cousin. I can see that they already love DS and have/will/would accept him with open arms into their family. I can envision the two families blending well and coming together for events and even occasionally for major holidays instead of having the kids make a choice of our family or hers.

RITE AID +UPs DIRECTLY LOADING TO CARD STARTING 9/2I saw this posted on WUC by someone who had access to the ad. They said that every item that was offering UPs also noted that they would be loaded directly to your Wellness card.

I had about the nicest mail almost ever as far as GC type things today! I got all three checks from the Pyamid ale rebate checks less than a month since I sent them in. ;D I am doing a little happy dance right now! beachbum: That's awesome!! Even though I have done relatively fewer rebates in the last year, I love those rebate checks.
