Looks like the CDC is trying to drum a new H-something-N-something fail flu scare again for 2013. If you want to do something productive, stop obsessing over Decoy and read up on that.  |

I believe the one at Bikini Atoll was a one of the big ones. It scared the German engineer that helped design it so bad I believe he tried to quit the program.
The other test that finally scared TPTB was the upper atmosphere test done by the Russians I believe. They terminated the testing because of the fear of igniting the Earth's atmosphere.
If I could remember the book title and author I'd cite it, sorry.

I'm not going to be able to contribute here at MT except in Gdgyva's dividend thread. Something happened in an update on my work computer and I lost the ability to ignore. Seeing as my abilities to manually ignore are not up to the task, I'm going to stick to dividends only here. I enjoy reading the P&M/YM/IBB boards too much to screw that up with any cheap thrill here.

Nobody is calling anyone names. I think I am entitled to question that which is being presented as fact elsewhere. I believe I am entitled to rebutt, and to point out questionable sources regarding the material in question. I believe I am as entitled to present a view as everyone else is. I don't see much in the way of angry/negative posts from the community at large regarding my comments on this thread. Comments via private messaging you may or may not have received from people who don't even post mean nothing to me or anyone else. If people don't have the sack to put it out there for all to see, then it's not worthy of consideration in my view. If you think I have not presented reasonable evidence/sources to support my statements , then you can feel free to point out any falsehoods, misrepresentations, lies, etc. It's not a forum for discussion when only selected people are allowed to post whatever they choose, while others are expected to swallow said statements like tripe and without question or challenge. It then becomes a soapbox. If that is what you guys want, then feel free to the board. I'm sure we'll survive somehow... Do what you must. I'm getting tired of the whining..... Do me a favor Virgil and stop obsessing over me. If Decoy can't handle it, then keep him off of my thread, as you have kept me off of his. I don't understand why you don't just start up a thread, "skeptic's corner", devoted to debunking various conspiracy websites. So long as you don't use it to goad Decoy, or make fun of Decoy, or quote Decoy, or make acronyms about Decoy, or complain about Decoy, or ask Decoy questions, or reminisce about great times you've had with Decoy—which would admittedly disqualify 99.5% of the content you've posted on the board thus far—I think it would be an excellent thread.
I don't mind blunt skepticism. I see nothing inherently wrong with it. Hamburger's butterflies and rainbows posts about the imminent resurgence of the US economy gives me a perspective I don't normally get. If pharmacological "soft kill" conspiracies offend you so much, devote five minutes a day to debunking them so that when Proboards (theoretically in our lifetimes) actually deploys v5 and we have some SEO options, the thread will have critical mass to attract a like-minded audience.
If your only interest is peeing in Decoy's lemonade, well... you've incurred the wrath of Moon, and her ultimatum stands. :-\
If you agree to keep all Decoy-related references and material out of it (per the above), I will do precisely that.
If you would like this thread to be "your thread", the same offer stands.

And if your only interest is to protect those that continue to post questionable content, utilizing questionable sources, then, again, do whatever. The fact is, there is only one person out here who consistantly beats the conspiracy drum and continues to incite with fear mongering and negativity. He continues to be an alarmist. The fact is, this thread was started to revisit the "dire prophacies" that we've been warned about for a long time. The fact is, we're all still here, and we're not prisoners of the government locked away in FEMA camps. And we still have food in the supermarkets. We still have our cars. We still haven't been killed off by Big Pharma. And the U.S.dollar is still taken anywhere in the world. The stock market is nowhere near 1000. Haven't seen martial law yet, and not a peep out of California about all those people who were supposed to be killed by Japanese fallout. The Southern Coast, which was supposed to disappear from a massive explosion beneath the ocean, is still there, and by several accounts, has enjoyed one of the best years ever for tourism. The list goes on....To be fair, Decoy AND OTHERS, was right about a couple of things. After all, even a broken clock is right, twice a day.
If you agree to keep all Decoy-related references and material out of it (per the above), I will do precisely that.
Sure. If I agree to let you censor my thread, and just post, uh......how do you put it.....rainbow and puppies content, then you'll leave me alone. No thanks. Decoy is welcome here. As much as I don't agree with him, at least he has the balls to post it out there for everyone to see. I give him credit for that much.

The easiest solution, which you may consider unfair but certainly isn't unreasonable, is to keep you two separate so the headaches stop. That's the ultimatum. Either divorce the ideas you dislike from the posters you dislike and attack only the former, or Moon shuts us down.
Look at it this way: reading through this thread, you and others have already debunked Decoy's predictions circa 2008 and 2009 to the fullest extent you can. Call it "mission accomplished".
Going forward, the only change you have to make is to direct your commentary against the conspiracies themselves and the sites that promote them. Do that and there are no issues. I'll keep Decoy out of your thread. I'll nuke any of his comments insulting you. The world will be at peace. No reports. No headaches.
I don't know or care if it's fair. It's the deal, and all I'm saying is that if you say "Fine, I can live with that," I will do my best to ensure the agreement is reciprocal and that Decoy doesn't bother you.
Personally, I think we could use a touch of skepticism on NMSNM.

sorry for the confusion regarding the first quote. clearly i only saw yours. however, even though you "complimented" him, the "fun times are coming" comment is still baiting to me because i see the manner in which some of the debunking is done.
