Seems the Fed is insisting quantitative easing will eventually pull out of the huge hole we're in economically. QE infinity will continue with the fed buying agency mortgage backed securities at a rate of $45 M a month and longer-term Treasury securities at a rate of $40M a month.

I personally believe we're still in a period of deflation, not inflation. Would not some inflation actually help the situation?

Let me walk you through it. It means the Fed is going to make-up $1-trillion a year. With an economy sucking along at under $16-trillion in GDP we can see that 6% is being made up.

At some point this all ends badly...my bet is (if there's no global coastal event this month) that we will sell in May and go away, have a summer rally so the returning fat cats can make a bundle selling short when the big market crash comes in the fall.

 I would say that the numbers coming out of the housing market, the oil and gas industry, manufacturing and farming are showing that things are getting somewhat better my friend.  If the housing market wouldn't have bottomed in 2011.....

 I agree that the risk of deflation was the biggest problem we faced after the Great Recession, if we would have entered a true depression there would have been nothing the FRB, or any central bank for that matter, could have done.  The only reason that the FRB is buying so much debt is so they can keep interests rates low, if you look at the over subscription on treasury auctions you can see how there is lots of demand aside from what the FRB is buying. 

I do agree however that Wall street is ignoring the severity of the situation in the Middle East and Asia, for lack luster earnings, and if anything really bad goes down there will be an overreaction to it no doubt. Great post sun!

Everyone with a 401k.....many on main st.....are looking up. Employment is a lagging indicator. In 1984...well into that recovery Delaware still had a 14% unemployment.

Your bullshit is getting a little long in the tooth. First of all, we're not pumping "sunshine". We're looking at, and highlighting areas, where improvement has and is occurring. Like it or not, and for some reason you don't like it, the job situation is improving.  Second, as I've said NUMEROUS times, the economy is not robust. It is not a bed of roses, it is IMPROVING and we have cited numerous sources, sometimes the very sources you your self quote without actually reading the material, to support our view. Our last validation of stand is the fact that our account balances are reflecting the improvement. As far as you are concerned, we still are not dying of nuclear fallout, and we still haven't heard word one regarding the "phantom REIT" which is typical of you guys. Nonsense is never verifiable. As is 90% of what you say........
