What Ever Happened To......... This massive derivative bubble that was going to pop back in '10, '11, and '12? It's almost like the housing market bottomed in '11 and things are continuing to slowly stabilize. I wonder if that is what this new ad campaign is about? Yes, it comes after a huge bear. These things tend to run in cycles. So, you may want to take some profits, as protection.

YEAH Mr. Z! I remember in Feb-March of '09 arguing with the owner of the property management company I worked for, he swore up and down that the credit bubble was going to burst. I told him it did and to buy stock, like I was. As far as profits goes, IDK about you Mr. Z, but I have been collecting 3-5% annually for a while now. Funny thing is that 3-5% number keeps growing as I continue to hoard stocks... ;D

I try not to offer advice. I just tell people what I'm doing and they can do the same (smart) or not (dumb). I appreciate the expert tag, but I would only classify myself as learned at this point. Expert status by 2014 is my goal.

A, how dare you think and act for yourself!! Aren't you listening to the "advice" being offered by the "expert" here at Money Talk? I know right, the biggest threat to all the socialist/extreme Islamic propaganda is people looking, reading, and asking questions. Hope things are well with you Sun, keep up the good fight my friend. @ Steady, yeah that 10k call for gold is really working out. Just like how all the radiation from Japan is about to kill us all. Of course there was this study that was just released. But since it's not about us all dying it's not really news.. Like We've Been Saying -- Radiation Is Not A Big Deal www.forbes.com/sites/jamesconca/2013/01/11/like-weve-been-saying-radiation-is-not-a-big-deal/?ss=businessSolutions, not problems.

Although I'm a proponent of nuclear, this headline is misleading.
An extremely small amount of radiation is "no big deal". And again, I doubt the science behind it.

Virgil good to hear from you. I had been wondering what had happened to you. I'm still here and I still read. Just haven't felt like I've had much to contribute for a while. Things seem to be in limbo globally, with everybody waiting for the other shoe to drop. Markets are moving sideways. Commodities pretty much the same. Interest rates, QE policy, etc. aren't changing for the foreseeable future. More and more I keep hearing about the economy in conjunction with the weather. The US is experiencing massive drought in many areas; hurricanes causing problems; climate change—whatever the cause—wreaking havoc on various industries. It's good to get both the optimistic perspective and pessimistic perspective.

Wasn't that call made over a year and a half ago I hear ya, Mr. A. Maybe we should remind everybody of this incorrect call by posting it every 4 or 5 posts like I SEE on other threads. Do you think the general public would get tired of SEEING it posted day in and day out ad-nauseam

Im with ya Mr. S, cause the fact is the doomers are now trying to deny this call. I still say that gold is going to be 900-1100 one day and sliver will be 7-15. I never stated when this would happen just that it will. As you know I'm not big on dates just on industry, which has kept us going with profits and will keep us going because of profits. The fact is that Gold topped at 1950 something, in the height of the Europe fear I will add, and has plunged ever since that. Let's just see what higher interests rates do to the price of gold, which is what I have been saying will be one of the big factors in Gold prices at some point for a very long time. Can't wait to see if higher rates makes that 5,000-10,000 GLD a reality.

Although I'm a proponent of nuclear, this headline is misleading. An extremely small amount of radiation is "no big deal". And again, I doubt the science behind it. The title is no more misleading than any of the BS from people like Max Keiser. As a person that supports nuclear aren’t you saying the same thing as these people? That nuclear energy is clean and safe if taken care of. The reality is that this science is a lot closer to the truth than any enemy propaganda site is. Notice how there isn’t mass radiation poisoning death in Japan? According to sites like that eenrgey news site or whatever, the level of ration that was “found” in Tokyo would be enough to cause acute radiation poisoning. This article outlines that they way these people are coming up with these numbers and how unrealistic it is. Logically which one is closer the truth?

I hear ya Mr. A. Some for the past year and a half have spouted nothing but gold’s meteoric rise "To the MOON!" all the while it slowly keeps declining. I do maintain a little gold in my inventory, (but only because I'm attracted to shiny objects, LOL!). Gold "could" still rise some because let's face it ... there still is a lot of FEAR out there and we still have the Internet to spread that fear faster than ever before. It's easy to sit at home behind a keyboard and copy and paste distorted information and half-truths from websites that are notoriously deceptive. The amount of misinformation floating around the web is downright frightful. And the idiots that just pass it along as factual? … downright deplorable. The price of freedom, I guess. Anyway, good luck to you and yours, Mr. A. Keep posting. Love reading your stuff. It's good to see that there is still hope for the good guys!

Thanks for the compliments and hell ya there are still some good people out here! The best part is it only takes a few of us to combat all the shit because the truth hurts. God bless you, stay steady.

I find it funny that you all hold gold and silver for the very reasons you make fun of decoy409 for. With gold at 1650 and silver at 30 ,holding steady , says a lot . I remember some fool calling for a 20,000 dollar DOW . How can equity's lose when banks are getting free money to gamble with . Gotta love those HFT machines and the derivative nightmare. America is in decline. More people than ever on the government tit , including Wall Street.

Huh?
Just so you know, damnotagain ... I don't think I hold anything for the same reasons that anyone else holds what they have. I don't base my holdings simply on what someone says on a message board. And I'm certain you have no idea what I hold nor why I have it since I don't believe I've ever shared that information. So, IMHO, your statement that "you all" hold gold and silver for the same reason as another poster is just plain not true.
IMO ... and probably in the opinion of many others ... I see America, as well as many other nations in the world, in recovery mode. You indicate that gold "holding steady" "says a lot"! I say that a nation in recovery says a lot more! Granted there are still some major hurdles to overcome, but still in decline? Hardly, IMO. Like the human body needs to rejuvinate, get healthy and strong enough to withstand the next medical procedure, so too a nation must recover and gain strength before it can address the next major hurdle.
And why do you think someone is a "fool" just because they missed a call on the DOW? Do you know that person personally? Are you saying everyone who misses their call, any call, is also a fool? The name of this thread is "What Ever Happened To........", and I asked what ever happened to the 10,000 call that was made for gold? I'm sure you could have phrased your statement in the context of the thread without calling people names.
Respond if you feel it necessary ... but I will not respond in kind. Good day to you!

The Dow will be at 20K and going higher sooner than you think. Your political feelings will cost you a lot of money.

The US mint sold out its silver eagles (6 million oz.) at @ 60 dollars a pop in just the first 15 days of this month. What's up with that ?
