Hi Guys!! We're having a great time here in Colorado. We went to Estes Park today. It is a little tourist town and we did all the tourist stuff today. We had a super good time.

I have gotten a couple of the new Tide pod samples. Used one today. NOT impressed. I have run 3 extra rinse cycles & still have a bunch of soap coming out. I prefer being able to use a bit less soap, get my clothes clean and NOT have to rinse multiple times.
I have had NOTHING on my buy at WAG list for weeks now and very little at CVS.
Dancin Glad to hear you are having fun.

The coupon preview showed 3 inserts this week, 1 SS, 1 RP and the Pepsi one. My paper only had RP and Pepsi. I checked several copies and that's all they had. I refuse to buy the other local paper that's $3 cuz it has crappy coupons. Make sure to check your Parade, if this comes in your paper. There are reportedly high value Cover Girl coupons in it.

constanz,
There is an SS in today's paper that has the 2$ Stayfree coupon and some other good Qs.
For people who have SW that double, the Pepsi Next is free this week with the 55 c insert Q from today.

Constanz, is there something you need? I get a metro paper delivered only Sunday (.50/week) and a local paper delivered every day. (DH likes it) Is there something you need? There isn't much that interests me.

OT: Recipe Who was recently posting about the s'mores dessert they made? I want to make it next week for a reunion. I remember it was a brownie mix, I think prepared, and topped with crushed chocolate candy pieces, Graham crac.kers, and marshmallows. Is that it? To you bake it at all after adding the toppings? TIA!

DH will be working Mon - Thurs so we checked into a hotel close to his office this afternoon. On the way here we went through Boulder and what do you think we saw? A Rite Aid!! DH knew that I had some work to do at Rite Aid so he turned right in without my asking. I did the Home Improvement GC deal and got (2) $5 UPs on my mom's card. Then he went in and did it and got (2) $5 UPs on DS's card. I have one more to get on DH's card and I'm all done with that deal. I'll be looking at iheartriteaid to make a plan as to what to do with the $50 in UPs. I USUALLY have a plan, but since we were going to spend the money at Lowes or Home Depot anyway, the UPs are like a bonus in my mind, so I didn't need to make sure that there was something great to do with them that would make the deal worth it.
NAG My sister lent me a paperback copy of The Hunger Games to read on the flight to Colorado. Between the wait at the airport and the flight itself, I almost finished the book and was SO BUMMED that I didn't have the other two books in the series (although I did bring two other paperbacks with me to read in the hotel room while DH is at work). I was prepared to go out and find a bookstore and buy them cuz I just really want to continue the story. We check into the hotel and there in the lobby is about a dozen books that guests have left that others can "borrow" if they want to and what is there? The two books that I wanted to go out and buy!! WOOHOO!!

Constanz, That was me! Recipe is: 1 Box Brownie Mix ingredients to make them (oil, eggs, water?) 2 cups mini marshmallows 6-8 graham crackers, crushed 8 (1.5oz) bars milk chocolate, coarsely chopped ** Preheat oven to 350. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Spread into a greased 9x13 pan. In medium bowl, break graham crackers into 1-inch pieces and toss with marshmallows and milk chocolate. Set s'more mixture aside. Bake brownies for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove and sprinkle the s'more goodies over the top. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow brownies to cool before cutting into squares. **The original recipe calls for 1-1/2 cups of mini marshmallows, but couple of reviewers of the recipes said that didn't seem like enough, so they upped it to 2 cups. I've always done it with 2 cups. **The first time I made them, I used a whole bag of mini-Hershey bars I found in the freezer. The second time, when I dug to the bottom of the freezer and found Hershey Kisses, I used about 1/2 the bag, maybe a little more. I just took my kitchen shears and sort of cut them up. This is one of those use-as-much-or-little of the s'more topping ingredients that you'd like. ;D I found it originally on allrecipes.com. Hopefully this link will work.. if not, go to www.allrecipes.com and search s'more brownies. allrecipes.com/recipe/smore-brownies/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=s%27more%20brownies&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page

Turns out I am OUT of the higher watt CFL bulbs so for now I am shuttling a single bulb between my desk and my reading light. Need to find a deal. Need to hit the big box stores and maybe Target and/or Walmart. Please post if anyone finds a deal. I want to buy at least 2 and up to 4.
Got a bug bit on Sun. It was itching horribly this am. Figured I needed to take an antihistamine but didn’t think I had any. Then I suddenly remembered I had several pkg of Allegra (FREE from CVS) on hand. All expire dates were good (2013 & 2014).
I bought some SUPER cheap kale last week. Loved the kale chips DDs make BUT it is waaay too hot here to turn on the oven. Have it a couple recipe sites and see it is mostly used in soups. NOT soup weather for me. Prob going to treat like sometimes I do to fresh spinach & saute in olive oil w/garlic.

I'll be watching the stock market (futures are way down and the open is in about 5 minutes) and reading today until my DSIL and DBIL come around noon to pick me up to go out to lunch. All his relatives think that I need to be entertained a bit while he is at work, but I'd be happy as a clam just to hang out by myself and read. I have a full kitchen and we went to the store and picked up cherries, grapes, and cottage cheese. I have a coffee pot and can go down to the breakfast area and get OJ, yogurt, bagels, muffins, etc. so I want for absolutely nothing. They are sweet to want to "entertain" me though.

Hi all! I have been concentrating on back to school sales lately. I don't know why but I really can't seem to do more than one extra store for chasing sales like this. I have to do the grocery store every week but on top of that one really seems to be my limit. I just don't have the concentration for the second it seems. Well this weekend we were out of soda so I decided to stop at CVS to pick it up since it was about the same price but I could use up some ECB's to help pay for it. I ended up getting, 1 case of pure life water...............2.99 4 12 packs pepsi......................... 12.00subtotal.....................................14.99 I got a CRT for the water..............-0.50 MCs 4@ $1/1.............................-4.00 ECB (gas card in other states ).....-10.00Final total.........................................0.49 cents

My main sale shopping yesterday was at Staples. ;D I got the index cards and erasers even though I don't need them. I will probably just give the eraser caps away since my kids are outgrowing them anyway. I alos got the mech pencils and Pentel pens that are Free after easyrebate. DH needed some of the extra fine pens that are on sale this week so I got four packs of them for $2 each. That is actually a really good deal for them. We really don't need copy paper but I got a $5/30 coupon on the sale circular so after a little thought I picked up two reams and it really didn't cost anymore with the coupon that without since I will get all but two bucks back in the rebate. ;D I paid 25.02 and sent in for $19.98 in easy rebates. So it works out to be five bucks for everything which is a GREAT deal. Glad you are enjoying your vacation Dancin!

Dancinmama: Good you got book 2 and 3 for free. Was very disappointed in both of them--especially #3 where I thought the author got tired and just wanted to wrap things up quickly. Maybe I feel that way because I read all three back to back in one weekend and I wanted to wrap them up!

I'm at a point in Book 2 where it seems like a bit of a rerun of Book 1, so now I'm beginning to wonder, but I'll definitely finish this one and then decide on the last one. I also have a couple of paperbacks and Killing Lincoln that I brought with me to choose from.

I need to work in a clothes shopping day. I have only bought 1 top and 1 pants this summer (since May) and I generally buy 2-3 outfits/year. I also need to replace my cool/cold weather shoes (reeboks or new balance).
Constanz No Rite Aid here in metro Chicago.

The lull in Book 2 for me was when they went to the Capitol to prepare (without giving it away for anyone who hasn't read it and plans to). It was a lot of pages of the same old, same old. But I was glad that I pushed through it.

The ones I have don't expire until 8/15 and my mom is on cumiden (sp. ?) now instead of low dose aspirin, so I don't really have any need for the product, but a couple of the gals here need the low dose so thanks for posting.

QUESTION FOR RA SHOPPERS
The 8/5 preview is finally up on iheartriteaid.com !!
When they have a Buy $20 of something and get a $5 UP, do the products track on your card immediately? Starting 8/5, they are going to have Ziploc storage products BOGO and if you buy $20 worth, you get a $5 UP. I don't know how much they cost regularly.....yet. I may not want to buy all $20 worth in one transaction depending on how it works out with the UPs and coupons that I have, but if I have to I will. As I was doing inventory on my stockpile a couple of weeks ago, I realized that I was getting low on gallon freezer bags and I don't think I'm going to get much of a better opportunity to stockpile for really cheap since they are BOGO AND giving a $5UP.
ALSO: If I have a $1/2 Ziploc Q (7/15 SS) and they are BOGO can I use one coupon for every two that I buy at Rite Aid?
TIA You RA experts are a real help when someone has been "out of the loop" like me.

However, RA is not as generous as CVS in that you have to actually hit the $20, no being off by a few cents and still getting the reward. As far as using $1/2 on a BOGO, I say YES, you can. RA does not allow you to use a coupon on the item you were getting free, but their policy states you can use ONE cents off coupon along with a BOGO deal. I just had this "discussion" with one of the FL's over on WUC and was told I was WRONG, but, I don't think so. I say, you can not use two .50/1 on a BOGO sale, but as their policy reads, you can use ONE cents off coupon per transaction. I say GO FOR IT. I don't remember if I have before and if it beeps or not.

Dancinmama:Yes, you can. I've done it at RA many, many times. You can't use 2 $1 off q's on a bogo, but a $1/2 is just fine. Same thing at Safeway, btw.

Guess the stars were aligned just right for you! In any event, there are some good parts in books 2 & 3; but a lot of "i don't know how to describe it" repetition. Loved the first one, though. Can't wait to see the movie on video as we didn't make it to the theater.

The CVS FLs are the same way. There is a lot of good information on that site; but I do not feel as though there is not much freedom of speech on that site, especially when it comes to disagreeing with a FL. If too many people join in the discussion and agree with your position, I bet the thread will be closed.
