Scanned my card at CVS today and did NOT get the $4/20 again. Guess it is a one time shot

Scanned my card at CVS today and did NOT get the $4/20 again. Guess it is a one time shot I guess we should have figured that they wouldn't be giving multiple $4/$20s. It is interesting, however, how they seem to be giving more of the $/$$ coupons again. Last week it was $5/$15 for a lot of people and this week it's $4/$20 for everyone. And then last week we had the Nivea CRT that yielded a free product and the week before that the $2/1 any shampoo CRT plus the $1/1 Garnier, the Physicians Formula CRTs, etc. I'd love to know the behind-the-scenes reasons when and why they decide to issue what they do.

After being away for three weekends and not getting any newspapers, I finally was home this weekend to get my hands on one! So I went to CVS and bought some much needed supplies I ended up with OOP expenses of $2.84 and saved $34.26. Gotta love CVS They had Kisses on sale 2/$5 with $1 EB. We are using these for our wedding favors, so I need to start stocking up in hopes of saving on shipping costs when I get around to ordering whatever I haven't stocked up! Colgate MaxFresh was on sale 2/$5 with $3 EB. I also had 2 $1 off coupons, so these were entirely free. Clinical deodorants were on sale buy one get one 50% off, and I was able to print 2 $2 off coupons for Degree Women's. Then I used the 4/$20 CVS coupon plus the $5/15 beauty coupon. The beauty coupon beeped and I told the lady I wasn't even sure if what I bought counted as beauty (is there any way to figure out what personal hygiene products are or aren't in the beauty club deals?), but she pushed it through. Then I had $8.50 in EB from my spring shopping. All in all, I ended with things that we definitely use! I always hate when I can get a good deal for items I rarely use or that I plan to give away in gift baskets, but sometimes you need to buy that extra thing to get the deal, so it's always exciting when I get go shopping for things I really use!

<<dancinmama smacks herself upside the head>> If you read the fine print in the ad for the $4/$20 it distinctly says "Limit 1 per household". Gotta remember to read the fine print.

RITE AID VIDEO VALUE HELP NEEDEDI went to RiteAid.com and got into my account, but I don't see how to view the videos to get the VV coupons and for the life of me I can't remember how to get to wherever it is that I need to go to view them. Can someone steer me in the right direction? ETA: As Gilda Radner would say, "Never mind". ;D

HOUND ALERT: $1/1 SCHICK HYDRO SHAVE GEL IPHere's the link. There is a limit of one print per computer and I need (1) to do the deal on one card and (4) more after that to do the deal on two cards. If anyone out there can print a couple and send them to me so I get them by the 28th, I'd REALLY appreciate it. It is for a deal at Rite Aid: Buy $15 worth of various shave creams/gels; get a $7 UP. The deal ends 7/31. www.coupons.com/couponweb/offers.aspx?pid=15493&nid=10&zid=yn07ETA: Geez, I also need (2) $.55/1 Edge (7/15 SS). I have (2) from the major metro paper to do the deal on one card, but I need (2) more to get it done on a second card, which I would like to do. For those of you interested, the deal includes Schick Hydro, Edge, or Skintimate shave gels. They are priced at 2/$5. Buy $15 and get a $7UP. $10.00 (4) Schick Hydro $ 5.00 (2) Edge $15.00 - 4.00 (4) $1/1 Schick Hydro IP - 1.10 (2) $.55/1 Edge (7/15 SS) 9.90 --> $7.00 UP Of course I'm going to pay with UPs to avoid the high OOP.

MyPoints participants - there are some killer deals out right now at Walmart. 4000 points for buying Pledge, Glade, and Raid in the same tx (and coupons provided), and 2000 pts for buying Cottonelle wipes & tissue in the same tx (and coupons for those too). It only takes 7500 points to get a $50 giftcard, so this is almost there! And the cost for all the items should be about $25, and they are things we will use anyway Sam, where did you find the pledge, glade, and raid deal? I have 9k in points, I would love to add that large an amount to it, but can only find the cottonelle deal?

I had a nice couple of transactions at Staples today. It seems I was the first person this week to bring in any old binders to get the $2 credit so they didn't know what to do but it worked out in the end. The first transaction I bought 2 1 inch binders......$2.00 2 dividers..................0.02 2 legal pads..............0.02 pack of red pens.......4.00 pk of zebra pens.......1.00 subtotal..................... 7.04credit for 3 binders...-6.00 mistake they didn't want to fix ;D final OOP...................1.11 The second transaction I had to pay $3.25 but I will take those deals anyday!

CVS today 7.99 Nature Made Fish Oil 8.99 Anchor glassware (which I found a crack in and have to take back now) 2 x .88 tuna 1.50 CVS sunblock (in a previous year I found this size marked down to 25c) -$4/20 -$3 any vitamin CRT -$1 Nature Made IP -$6 ECB -$ 1 ECB green bag tag = $6.xx OOP I would have bought the tuna and sun block at that price anyway so it's like the Anchor bowls were about $3 instead of $9 and the vitamins (which I can use) were free. ===> $4 ECB for Nature Made Got rain check for .88c tissues Sprouts $5.99/lb. wild caught Pacific snapper (reg. 7.99) 3/$1 ears of corn 3/$1 bell peppers 5 lb. bag potatoes $1 bulk bin rolled oats and steel cut oats .69c/lb. (reg. .99c) .99c Sprouts dozen eggs (reg. $1.50) DH likes these better than the other stores' eggs but I don't think they're any different. Got a rain check for $1.99/lb. organic chicken drumsticks (reg. 4.99/lb.+) Can't remember what else but a whole lot of little veggies added up quickly! Didn't use one coupon! Didn't buy anything organic. That's unusual. We've been making our own bread in the breadmaker we got as a wedding gift. We just ordered a new fancy dehydrator to replace my latest dead one. We're looking forward to eating our growing veggies.

Mostly, our grocery ads start on Thur and come in the Wed paper. Which ones I get from week to week has been very erratic. This week I got everything EXCEPT Aldi. Even my 3 local bloggers did not list very much so I went to the Aldi site. Strange: there is NO produce on the ad. I don’t remember this ever happening before. Also, the deals I see and the bloggers list for 2 of the natl chains are no big shakes. My independents have MUCH better prices. However, there are some really good deals at Meijer. Got an email this morning from a local liquor/wine store. Heading was Summer Clearance. I quickly recognized that for the 3 wine items I am often buy the prices are normal shelf or regular sale. NOT Clearance in my book. Donna Freedman has an article on cutting food costs today: money.msn.com/frugal-livingPer another blogger I follow Safeway J4Uhas a FREE breakfast sandwich this week in some markets (not mine-I checked). I have already had this. Don’t bother. It is NOT good. Spend the $1-1.29 at McD or Burger king. Also, my store had them prepped ahead so they are COLD. When I told the clerk it is advertised as freshly prepared & hot he did make me a new one BUT burnt it. NEVER again. Has anyone tried the new Nestle Girl Scout cookie candy bars? They are to die for.

I got the following free items this week from J4U
Pepsi Next 2L Evolution Juice 15.2 oz
I also got my personalized price for frozen veggies again - 0.73 cents for 12-16 oz veggies and there is an eQ for 50c off 2 SW frozen veggies. The eQ is for a limit of 4, but the personalized price is unlimited. Ralphs frequently has the 12 oz veggies for 1$, but I like the SW deal better since I can buy the 16 oz varieties.

Mmm...I want to. I've been looking for them on sale, but I might have to break down and buy them at giant eagle if they have them. A smaller local store has nestle candies on sale 3/$2 this week. That would have made them free with a doubled .75/2, but they didn't have any

I had $1 EBs bag tag EBs on a couple of cards from the $2/1 shampoo CRT week at CVS, so I used them to try the GS cookie candy bars for free. They are very good, but they are expensive. Supposedly they are only going to be available for a limited time.

I am getting ready to go out of town for over a week as I'm going on a business trip with DH. He has family close to the business destination that we will be visiting part of the time. The other part of the time, he will be working and I will be relaxing in the hotel, so I will be taking my laptop and hope to see what all the latest scuttlebutt is from you all. Just make sure that there are no great glitches while I'm gone, okay?

Well, I'm determined to use my 4/20 CVS coupon, so, here's my plan: 1 NatureMade fish oil, 7.99, -2/1 IP (coupons.com), -2/1 CRT, get 4 EB 4 Colgate, 2/5, -4 .75/1 (all IP's, 2 Total, 2 Maxfresh), get 6 EB 1 Unreal bar, .75, get .75 EB 1 Nivea tin, .99, -1/1 CRT. I need to add just a few cents to reach the $20 so will look for the clearance toothbrushes giving EB's, or will just grab a small filler.
Total will be around $8, will pay with $8 EB and get 10.75 EB back.

One of my local deal bloggers is shutting down her site. However, she suggests 2 national sites I already follow and 3 locals 1 I follow and 2 I am checking out. One site is Detroit based: www.bargainstobounty.com/ so very different stores than I have so not bookmarking. Dancin: Are you still keeping a list of deal blogs? I am seeing more and more of the sale items at WAG requiring multiple purchases to get the best price. Recently it was WAG tp & paper towels 10/$5 BUT if you bought less than 10 it was $0.59 each – a 20% premium. As a single I feel discriminated against. What the blue blazes would I do w/that much even in combination. One of my remaining local bloggers also mentioned how bad the ‘specials’ are at Aldi this week w/NO produce. Today would be a NO spend day since I will get my Meijer list w/the free gc (for the ground beef thing) BUT I should gas up. Checking gas $ on line but several local, cheap stations I pass are never listed.

marvholly,
Do your Safeway stores have gas stations out there? Not all of them do here but one does that's not too far away. Get a .10 discount for every $100 spent in Safeway; or a .03 discount with just the loyalty card. I only need to gas up every 2-3 weeks so usually have at least a .10 discount each time. When they had the gift card promo last time, unbeknownst to me, they give you 4x the credit toward the gas discount. I bought 2 $50 in Lowe's cards, got the $10 free grocery q, and 400 gas points--I was pleasantly surprised at the pump with the .40 discount! So for $100, which I will spend over time at Lowe's anyway, I got $14.80 back.

I got a giftcard yesterday for one package of bad ground chuck at Meijer and I will be bringing in the other one from the freezer tomorrow. I plan to do another paper towels/TP deal and another 10 for 10, paying little OOP. I wonder if the beef was bad just that week. We bought a split side of beef last winter and I was trying to stock up on the ground chuck deal since we'll go through that before the year is up. I know I've bought Meijers ground beef before and it was good. This last batch was too gross--pink on the outside and brown inside and smelled very bad.

But if you're looking for deals at other stores, check Saving Addiction. She's in Western MI and sometimes have deals for stores that aren't in SE MI. Ruby, you can actually get the Meijer ad first thing on a friday morning. Just bookmark the link B2B has & next time just click on the link, it will display the new preview. The new ad preview is available from around 6am every Friday. HTH

Murpath The close to me Safeway & Albertson’s stores do NOT have gas pumps. Albertsons near DD1 does but price is not any better than several other gas stations near her.
Ruby I have not bought ground beef at Meijer before our issue or since. Not sure if I will but tempted since the price was SOOO good and if it is bad again I can drive to the local health dept in 10 minutes and file a consumer complaint. I would just LOVE to see this store deal w/daily or weekly spot health dept checks. Also, my Meijer is one of the 3 in metro Chicago out of 12 that does NOT follow the natl ad.
Since my Meijer ad is a Thur start I have a site I hit regularly to look on Sun. gives me a starting point.

Went to WAGS today mainly to get some Coke products. They had the best deal, not great but better than everyone else this week. On my way out in the parking lot, found a $2RR on the ground!!! I just wonder, do people just throw these away? Maybe just someone dropped it, but no one around at the time. My gain!
