UPDATE: The MRI came back no cancer in the brain, also no cancer in any of the other organs, just in some lymth nodes. Had first chemo not feeling so bad yet but perhaps later i will. I also lost 8 more pounds since the last time i was in to see the doctor. I am suppose to have 6 cans a day to maintain my weight.
I need to have one chemo treatment every 3 weeks, they last 4 hours each. I go in tomorrow for a shot to jumpstart my whitecells i think is what they said. We will do 3 treatments or 9weeks and then get another PET or CT scan to see what is happening.

Good news that the cancer hasn't metastasized to other organs, patio. That's quite a relief, I'm sure. While a lot of people get very, very sick from chemo, some are fortunate enough not to suffer that much. Let's just hope you're in the latter group!

you and Peanut are in my prayers for sure.
please make sure you talk "pain management" with your chemo doctor. It will make all the difference in the world.

patio put the weight loss in context for me. If my addition is right you have lost 43 lbs. That would put me at my fighting weight. Okay, a bit under but not too bad. Did you have the weight to lose? Sounds like you might be one of the luckier ones with chemo. It isn't as difficult for some as others. Here's hoping for you.

You may feel more tired in the next day or two, especially when the steroids start wearing off. Like Nole said, ask about pain management. It is not unusual for the Neulasta shot to cause some bone pain, especially in the lower back and hip area. I found tylenol worked well, but your onc may have another suggestion.

latebloomer, that sounds about right 43 pounds gone. Yes i actually could afford to lose them, but would have rather lost that amount of weight the correct way. I am noticing some muscle loss and that is not the way i would have done it, had i had a choice.
i found tyenol works the best so far also, but i am wearing a patch that i change every 3 days, they sent home some nausea pills and i will take them how the nurse said to do it. I also have a morphine based liquid for a quick pain killer if i need it.
I asked my DIL if she will buzz my hair if/when it starts to fall out. I think i am going to wear hats.

It's a terrible way to lose weight. But if you were going to lose it, it helps that you had a bit of padding. And there are some fantastic styles to go with bald or crew cuts. Do it right and you will look so chic! You need some nice earrings and necklaces!

It might be a good idea to buzz your hair sooner rather than later. Grabing a handful of hair and having it stay in your hands is disheartening. I'd be proactive on that one, get an army buzzcut and some cute scarfs or hats. SO many beautiful scarfs out there.

Pati.. Thought of you quite a few times over the past few hours. And after reading the words of Femme.. Thought how true her words were.. Thanks for sharing your journey to wellness with us.. I hope and pray nothing but the very best in health for you.. We all do! Be sure to rest your body, your mind and soul as much as possible between every treatment and be ever so cute while you're at it. May you be gifted with lots of pretty hats and scarves!

One of the worst parts of chemo for my grandpa was the exhaustion. He had lymphoma and a nasty 8 inch wide tumor in his stomach. It in a few other spots as well. He responded very well to chemo and Monday the oncologist said it was all gone.
Hugs and good thoughts for you during a very hard time.
