Patio, did they hold the fundraiser? How'd it go? (I know from a good friend who went thru cancer therapy that it gets REALLY expensive in a hurry.) Hope everything is continuing to go well for you!

Busymom (aka Biz!), thank you for directing me to this thread I didn't read all of it but started at about page 6. What great friends you all are to Patio...who says cyberfriends aren't "real"? And b2r, thank you so much for that beautiful video of home. I karma'd you! Watching that even brought with it the special smell of fall. Fall is just one of the things that I miss. I even miss our brutal and unforgiving winters (no, I haven't forgotten what cold feels like!). I miss hearing the Yooper accent and our funny way of speaking (Yoopers don't "tamp" something down, they "pank" it down!) and hearing "ya, you betcha!" and our wacky accent that's not from the US and not from Canada and is peculiar to the UP and to some areas of far northwestern Wisconsin. Biz, did you notice how many cookie trees there were in that video? To Patio, I wish you all the best: the best news, the best friends, the best life. You go, girl ;D

Hi there Pati. Glad to hear the chemo has been effective and that you can get a bit of a break before the radiation. I hope your hair grows back curly too! Enjoy that little Peanutty! Capn

OK newest up date. I have met with two radiation doctors and they both say the same thing. I will need 5/6 weeks of radiation everyday to kill off he tumor and let the body take care of it. I was at a clinic 45 minutes away one way and they said that they clinic close to me can do the same thing. The chemo dr thought perhaps they could do higher does and less of them, but the two other doctor decided to do lower doses of radiation and do more of them, seems i need to 33 treatments. I believe i am begininng to see the light at the end of the tunnel nd i think it is good light. I am hoping once i am done with this that it will stay dorminate for a long long time. I think of all the people that have posted here, with pictures, well wishes, prayers. good thoughts, and positive energy, i have enjoyed them and just reading them always lifts my spirits up. Thank you for being my cheerleading section. You have no idea how much you all mean to me.(dang it i wasnt going to cry when i typed this out) What wonderful bunch of people i have surrounding me.

That's great news. It's a good idea to do the treatments closer to home, especially with winter coming. You may want to ask the docs about lotions, ointments or creams to use on your skin. It can help your skin during the treatments. It's always good when you can see the end of treatments. Take care of yourself.

Great to hear, Rene! If you can get the same treatments closer to home it will sure reduce the stress on you and that's important when undergoing radiation. You've done so well!

my first radiation is wednesday, i am kinda scared, not sure what to expect. I am hoping i can still work full time and use my lunch hour to do radiation. I am all out of time off. i understand that fatige is the kicker on radiation. Well i will work as much as i can but take off when i need to. well just a mini update. so i figure i will be done the end of nov and then will go from there.
