Virgil, You probably want to add instruction that after making the change one must then click the "modify profile" button.

Counterintuitively, Ms. Cheesy, you don't actually have to click "Modify Profile" for the changes to be accepted. The changes are stored as soon as you make them. This behaviour isn't by choice. I'd prefer it if the changes were only committed if "Modify Profile" was clicked, but the service I use to store information online needs time (roughly 100 milliseconds) to run. When you click the "Modify Profile" button, the webpage you're viewing is instantaneously unloaded (although it may not seem like it). Any pending data streams are aborted, and JavaScript doesn't provide an elegant way to delay this process, even by a tenth of a second. Hence the changes must be committed as soon as they're made. So, short answer: you don't need to click the "Modify Profile" button. Since it can't hurt, maybe I'll put the instruction in anyway.

Thanks, Moon. I programmed the algorithm to generate it entirely from scratch, although the "glow" is a post-processing effect added by third-party software. I may do a second version where each pixel flies around in a perfect circle at a constant speed. The centers, radii, and speeds will be selected so that at 0 seconds, the pixels coalesce to produce one image (perhaps 'V'), at 3 seconds the pixels coalesce to form a second image (I'm thinking of a "snake in the grass" logo), at 6 seconds the pixels coalesce to form a third image (an 'S'), and at 9 seconds the pixels are back at their 0 seconds ('V') positions. There are enough degrees of freedom to solve the problem, but the challenging part will be to find a mapping such that the pixels stay relative "on screen" in their trajectories. For example, if you pick any three points at random and fix a circle through them, the circle may have infinite radius, or (quite likely) will not contain the convex hull of the points. The good news is that the bulk of the code used to generate the current version is also useable by the new one.

I hope POM doesn't read your post Virgil, because I am afraid I can't translate that, other than "I am creating a cooler one than the one I have now!"

DW is out of town. I secretly used the time to create the new avatar, Moon. OK. I admit I'm a wee bit of a geek.

If I were a true geek, I'd have made it something "Dungeons and Dragons" themed.

POM it's serious. Proboards Support is gone and so is the new V5 Board. Nothing can connect to them. I'm on two browsers and it's the same on both. Also spell Check is gone on here and QuickBar is wonky.

Okay Spell Check is back as well as Preview and Smilies. QuickBar is still wonky. ProBoards Support is still out as well as V5 Board.

I was getting cranky the first time QB disappeared, I think the day after Virgil released it, that is how easy it is to use and how quickly you get adjusted to it!

Are you still having the problem, Sugilite? It sounds like scripts aren't running on your machine. The scripts server might have been down for maintenance. It was 1:00 AM EST.

hiya Virgil, I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed, and I apologize if anyone else has pointed it out already. I've been away for a few days, but made a couple posts from my phone via the PB app. the Quick Bar doesn't recognize them, though - the last posts on there were from last Tuesday night, the last time I logged in from a 'puter. is that a quirk to the script, or is it something that can be addressed? thanks
