Oh my God...I could be your mom. DD2 is your age! Where has the time gone??? I could too. DS is your age and I wish he was as handy as you are. You remind me of my sister. She's the only female I know personally that can change a bad cord on an appliance. Murpath: Aldis is an out-of-town trip for us so I do a lot of pricematching at Walmart. Got me a pineapple today for $1.59 and I pricematched another store's milk half gallon for $1.00. Dollar General is the only store with food in town and that's what we use in an emergency. I bought a little spray bottle at Walmart today for a dollar and made up the homemade Dawn/peroxide laundry stain removal. I got the Dawn free and the peroxide for $.30. I can't wait to try it out.

Dancinmama: I like the $$ store, too. I can always get a bunch or two of bananas there for $1.00 each. It's the ROXY brand which is a division of Dole. Sometimes the outside of the banana doesn't look that great but they are hardly ever bruised. Better quality than those at SW! I've even gotten a bunch of pkgs. of Oscar Meyer Selects for .99. The expiration date was 5 weeks off--those pkgs. are $5.99 each at SW! My $ store also often has organic spring mix, sometimes blueberries, and often good brand yogurt. Not to mention the gift bags. It's on my way to work so I stop by once or twice/week. We have two different dollar stores here and, unfortunately, the one that carries produce and refrigerated items is across town; but every time I am over that way, I stop in. I am often looking for bread items, produce, Farmer John liverwurst, and dairy (Kraft sour cream, Philly, etc.). It's my secret weapon when I need something and it's not on sale and/or I don't have a coupon AND it's pretty easy to keep track of how much you're spending before you get to the register .

Ran up to CVS today. Too bad I didn't read the thread beforehand, because I missed the speed stick. Oh well, there will be another deal. I did get Ban for $.99 each with the coupon, so that was ok for me. Total OOP was $8.04, and I got: 2 packs of diapers, 2 packs of wipes, 4 toothpastes, and 2 deodorants. All stuff we actually needed, so I thought that was great *I only track my OOP at CVS. Its too confusing to me to track the EBs as profit/cost. I still have $6.98 in EBs on each card to use for the next round of deals. Hopefully some MM ones come up soon!

Just try to check in and scan/skim the pages a couple times a week so you don't miss anything.

Another couple things I have noticed. There are WAAAY far fewer free sample offerings and those that are available are MUCH more limited in quantity available. Most have VERY specific begin times so if one is not on the computer 24/7 you are SOL. Also, when new products come out the coupons & sale combos do NOT = free. The coupons are MUCH lower value and expire MUCH faster. I have had WAAAY too many problems w/new products that are JUNK!!!! If its not FREE its NOT for me.
Hopes I, too, have a BIG list of things I ‘used’ to buy regularly that either I don’t buy at all these days or it is a once in a blue moon treat – start w/ice cream, chips (any kind) & cookies. I have been able to buy cream cheese at Aldi for 0.99 BUT will let that go as needed. My pay has NOT gone up but most of my bills have-esp my ISP and gas. Gotta come from somewhere.
Murpath None of my $ stores sell anything highly perishable like produce. Most don’t even have or have VERY limited fridge & freezer cases.

More free deodorant this week at CVS if you have any of the $1/1 deodorant CRT's left. Mitchum is 1.99 and there is $1/1 in today's paper.

Well, there's always hope--mine didn't used to sell produce but started sometime last year. I actually went in to ask if they sold the Sunday paper. No go there. And we don't have Dollar General here so there you go. Re ice cream: Last week our Safeways had Dreyer's ice cream (sometimes called Edy's elsewhere--the one in the striped containers) for $2.98 ea wyb 2. Dreyer's is a high quality ice cream and usually $5.99 or so. DD2 loves the Peanut Butter Cup flavor so I got that and plain, old vanilla for DH. marvholly: Just curious: did your Safeway have the same promo?

Just popping in to say "Hi" and see how everyone is.
The only thing I'm doing this week is the free Complete contact solution (MM because I had two of the $1/1 coupons) and the Pantene at BOGO 1/2 off and using the BOGOF coupon from the P&G insert. I'm only doing that because we're down to the bottom of shampoo again. I really need a stock up price on that.
Does anyone think the Cottonelle deal at Wags is worth doing? $4/12 rolls after the instore coupon. I just don't know how many sq feet it is. I'll have to go check it out. I never find anything following the $.01 per sq foot rule, so for me I stock up at 1.5 cents a sq foot.

It may be a better deal at CVS if you NEED Pantene. It's 2/6.97 with $1 EB back. Could be even cheaper yet at WM or Target...

Could anyone use some NBPN beer rebates? I found some forms for $15 back on a $50 grocery purchase (not including alcohol). Unfortunately only good in NC, VA and WV.

I bought 1800 Tequila today for $16.99!!! Top shelf is soo yummy and I saved almost 50% buying ;D then at Foods Co, they had a deal, buy 12 pack of Coronas, get Sauza Tequila for $3.98. So I bought both, looked in my binder and had a $5 off beer & tequila coupon, so this made my tequila free. Then, I found a $10 MIR for Coronas if you buy meat or poultry..needed chicken so I essentially scored free booze!!

Following the $.01/sq. ft. is getting harder and harder to do. I think the last time I got TP was when they had a Buy $30/Get a $10 GC deal at CVS on Angel Soft. I think it was a little over $.01/sq. ft. after MC (paid with EBs), but the fact that I could convert EBs that expire to GCs that don't was worth paying a fraction of a cent more and it allowed me to stockpile something that is hard to stockpile.

Disappointed flour tortillas usually go on sale for .99 for Cinco De Mayo, the only went as low as $ 1.60. Guess I'll be making a trip to Costco.

I never find anything following the $.01 per sq foot rule, so for me I stock up at 1.5 cents a sq foot. The Wags package is only 113 SF, so it ends up being 3.5 cents per SF. Not at all a stock up price. The "low" on Cottonelle currently seems to be 2 cents per SF. I just bought some at Safeway. $5 for 246 SF. (I also got a $3 catalina for buying multiple packages, so it reduced my cost a little below 2 cents per SF.) If you need to burn RR's, then get the Cottonelle at Wags. Otherwise, keep your eye out. Cottonelle has been on sale in the last week at Kmart & Sfwy so it should be on sale somewhere near you sometime soon.

I went out today and got some of my deals done. Mitchum is my brand, so I'm stocking up while it is free. I bought some clipped coupons online last week (cost me $1.63) so I would have enough to match all the CVS Qs I got from the red machine.
Meijer: Found Special K bars on clearance (reg. price $8.98), but otherwise I'm not buying much there this week as the ad was meh on the food front. 9 pack Special K Bars, 4 @ $2.48 - 2*$1.50/2 MQs = $6.92 24 pack Charmin Basic TP, 2 @ $10.49 - $1/2 MQ = $19.98 8 pack Bounty Paper Towels, 2 @ $10.49 - $1/2 MQ = $19.98
Paid $46.88 OOP and got back a $10 coupon from Meijer and a $10 P&G rebate form (both from the Charmin/Bounty). The Charmin worked out to $0.0054 per sq. ft., and the Bounty worked out to $0.0103 per sq. ft.
Target: Sobe Lifewater, 10 @ $1 = $10 Nivea Skin Firming Lotion, 1 @ $6.99 - $3 MQ - $1 TQ = $2.99 Eucerin Lotion, 2 @ $6.29 - 2*$2 MQ = $8.58
I paid $21.57 OOP and got back $10 in Target giftcards ($5 for buying 10 Sobe and $5 for buying 3 lotions). You can do the lotion deal much better; the $0.87 tins and the $2.24 lip balms are both working for the buy 3 Nivea/Eucerin/Aquaphor get $5 deal, so you can spend $5.35 and get $5 back. I needed lotion and these are my brands of choice, so I did it this way (still saved 66%).
CVS: Kotex, 1 @ $3.99 - $1 MQ = $2.99 Bic Comfort 3 Razors, 1 @ $6.99 - $3 MQ = $3.99 Lady Mitchum Deodorant, 5 @ $1.99 - $1 MQ - $1 SQ = $0
I also used a $4/$20 CVS Q on this purchase, so I paid $2.98 OOP and got back $5 EBs from the Kotex and the razors.
I have 5 more sets of Qs for deodorant, and I have another $3/$15 CVS Q to use, but my store only had 8 of the Lady Mitchum deos and I didn't want to wipe them out. I'll go to the one by my work tomorrow to get the rest if I can (will probably get some Dove singles or something to finish out the $15 Q).

Albertsons has Classico pasta sauce for 2$ per bottle this week and if you buy 2 tomato sauces, you get an Alfredo sauce free. With the 1$/2 MQ for Classico in today's paper and doubler Qs, it comes to 4$ for 6 bottle of good pasta sauce. Sweet Baby Rays are 88c per bottle and Monterey mushrooms are 1.29 per 8 oz.

Thanks dancinmama! The only thing I feel a little silly about is that the Mitchum Qs are now printable from coupons.com I have access to enough computers that I could've printed them all for free, but...oh well, not having to go through that effort was worth the price and the Q wasn't up at that time.

I'm only doing that because we're down to the bottom of shampoo again. I really need a stock up price on that. Better deal on the Pantene would be at RA next week (5/13): 2/$7 Less BOGO mq ($3.50) Less $2 UP (wyb 2) = $1.50 for 2 or .75 each Limit of 2 UPs so you could buy 4 total (if you have (2) BOGO mq's and I believe there's also a $1/2 Pantene out there, but I could be wrong about that. Also, there's a new P&G rebate - I don't have the link handy, so I'm not sure if Pantene is included. But, if so, would be a good idea to figure out a scenario for that. ETA:I found the rebate form. Here it is and it does include Pantene: www.pgbeautyolympics.com/OlympicRebate.pdfThis should help you get your cost down!

I didn't do too much hounding at all this past week. My coupon totals only amounted to $14.00. Yesterday was so beautiful that we spent most of it outside getting the flower beds ready to plant. It has actually been a nice break and the pantry and freezer are pretty full so I don't feel like I've been missing too much.

Well, I took my last $1/1 deodorant CRTs to CVS this morning and picked up (4) more of the Speed Stick. They were pretty wiped out. I'm sure it had more to do with the BOGO coupon than the $1/1 CRT. In any case, I was happy that I could add some to my stockpile for FREE this week. Patience and FREE is still the name of the game for me. I didn't get the $1/1 CRT but had a $1 ECB left so used the BOGO (2) Speed Sticks deod. $5 tax $0.32 $5.32 -$3.99 BOGO -$1 ECB Total OOP $0.33It's funny that CVS hasn't corrected this but hey it's all good.

Murpath I only have Dollar Tree on my standard travel routes. I checked Family Dollar and Dollar General and closest ones are too far to be worth the drive. I do like Edy’s (what we get here) but as a single cannot/will not buy 2. Hips can’t take it.
Jeep I was totally disappointed in the Cinco De Mayo sales here. Bought NOTHING. Guess I will just get anything I need at Aldi.

I didn't really HAVE TO HAVE deodorant, but you'd better believe that I'm going to pick it up whenever I can for "free". There used to be a time when I didn't even have to pay sales tax at CVS because my EBs ate into it, but those days have long passed. NOTE: Even though deodorants have an expiration date on them, they do not expire. In the old days when Degree first came out, there was a FREE coupon for it in the inserts to entice people to try it. I was able to get A LOT of inserts in those days and I stockpiled it like crazy. We used that stockpile for YEARS (no expiration dates on such products back then) and we had no problems with it whatsoever.

I was really sad that I had to pay a high OOP for a product that I use in the summer (Sublime). Most non-couponers would have thought that I got a bargain at $6 something for a product that usually costs $11 something, but it was a testament to what is happening these days.
rubyslippers: Don't be discouraged that your coupon totals from one week to the next are not what they used to be. Recent, previous years have been an anomaly and although things have slowed down substantially, they are still much better than they were before the drug chain rewards came onto the scene. Stockpile like crazy when you can and then patiently wait to replenish. If you are brand loyal, you may have to become less so as your favorite brands will not be a great deal as often and/or you will not be able to buy them as frequently with "for profit" rewards.

hound alert - If anyone has the RIB $3 Huggies coupons, or a couple extra of the $2/1 from the 4/15 SS, I would appreciate them. Let me know what you want to trade for. The deal with the boxes this week comes out pretty good if I can get the RIB coupons too: 1 box - $20.00 1 pack wipes - $6 -$3 RIB, $2/1 4/15 SS = $21, get back $10 EB Total cost $11 Ok, now that I think about it, maybe this scenario would be better: 3 jumbo packs = $30 - 3 $2/1 coupons -$3 RIB coupon = $21, get back $10 EB. I need diapers more than I need wipes anyway.
