Hi all! We are back from our trip to San Diego and Disneyland. DS looked awesome in his cap and gown and we are now officially DONE with tuition & room&board payments! Yea for us! We worked so hard to be able to get the three kiddos through college without any student loan debt. Hounding definitely helped us tremendously so I can say that all of you had a hand in our ability to pay for their college! Thanks! Disneyland was great. We all had a wonderful time. murphath: That is AWESOME!! And how exciting for your family. I sure hope that in spite of that, you'll still be hanging out with us here. I am so glad that you mentioned something about this. On one of the YM coupon threads I stated that using coupons had helped us pay off the mortgage on our first home super early (I think I stated 18 years early, but later I realized that it was actually closer to 20). I can't tell you how many times I have been mocked for having posted that. People who do not do what we do have absolutely no clue how big the savings can be. It does not matter what types of items you are saving money on - food, non-perishables, stuff from Kohls or Lowes or Staples, etc. If you know the tricks of the trade and keep your OOP low because you patiently wait for the best deals before you stockpile, you can save "A TON OF MONEY" over a period of time. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I am SOOOOO BUMMED. I missed it. Oh well, that's the way the coupon crumbles.

Just a quick question re the Pantene deal: my insert says 2/$6.50 w/$1 EB limit 1. Are you all getting multiple EB's? I'm seeing $4 EB's if you purchase 8 of the Pantene Pro. murphath, I think the actual limit is 4, as it is a May monthly deal. You can get all 4 in 1 transaction. HTH!

Truer words were never spoken. When DH's business tanked in this recession (after 28 years!), we had just finished paying college for DD1 with DD2 about to start. Through this board and all the helpful advice/scenarios, I actually made a profit the first year after purchasing over $4,500 worth of stuff. All that money I would have spent went into an account for DD2. After two years of hounding, we had enough saved for her 3rd year of college. Her 4th year was a breeze because she got so many scholarships so we caught a break there. That enabled us to save for DS. The 2 years of community college was inexpensive and by then DH had his footing back. As I've said before, people look at a coupon and see a piece of paper. We look at a coupon and see money!

EXACTLY!! In addition, the $75 that I saved in coupons yesterday was $75 dollars that we will not have to pay payroll taxes or income taxes on which makes it worth a lot more than it appears. DH would have had to earn about $100 gross to bring home that $75 net. When I have raised that point on the YM couponing threads, most people just ignore it. murphath: Thank you soooo much for sharing your story. It is truly an realistic testament to what one can do when they use coupons strategically. If I'm not mistaken, I think frugalsuz has used her savings to pay down her student loans and build up her savings to the point where she had a down payment for a home.

Hi all Just catching up and two things stand out for me, first we like Irish spring be and I have the 50c mq's. Second: I like pantene and would like to do a deal involving both. I am out in Las Vegas so I will probably sign up for a new card as I left them all at home in PA. I have no ecb's and I have t search to look for a pantene mq. With this sad state of barely any mq's and no ecb's can anyone think of something I could do for a low OOP? Gosh, what a mess to be in when a deal comes along. I have been concentrating on spending less of the last few months thinkingthe best deals were done.

I am willing to share some Pantene mq's with you, if you need them. I was gifted some and with a combo of being a bit busy and not being aware of any upcoming deals at Wags or RA, I'd rather you use them if you can.

The fresh fruits & veg around here have either been VERY $$ or looked like they should have been trashed 3 days ago. I am really tight (almost out) of fruit. I only have a bit of broccoli & mushrooms on hand. Salad fixings are ok w/the bagged stuff on sale at both Albertsons & Safeway. I really do prefer to eat fresh but am resorting to canned fruit & frozen veg until prices & quality improve.

Hi all! I don't have any deals to post or even any plans to do any but wanted to stop by and say hi!
Since I live in backwards land I have as much shampoo than I can store. Most is pantene that, after coupons, cats and rebate was free including tax, I got at Shoprite. ;D I used up my coupons on it but it is just as well considering I really don't have room for more.
I hope everone has a great holiday weekend!

Savingstar question. If anyone is here this weekend I really could use some help with a Savingstar question. I got a couple of Dos Equis NBPR rabates for $5.01 of mexican food.. I have to purchase the stuff by 5/31 which is why I need the help quickly. I have a couple of coupons saved on Savingstar for mixican food items. One of them is for Buy, any 4 Culinary Circle® items, Save 25%. My question is since it is buy 4, but not one of the top of the page ones that says in one or more trips, does it have to be in one trip or can I do it in 2? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Karma is also available if that helps also.

I had my stockpile sale this morning at my campground. I was almost sold out by 9:30 am and made $370!!! I sold out of toothbrushes, body wash, soap, deodorant, and razors. I only had a couple bottles of shampoo left, and started with probably 30 or more. Sold lots of make up, OTC meds, and all but 4 tubes of toothpaste. My car was packed FULL going there and when I picked up, it all fit in 2 small boxes what was left. The only things that didn't sell were those cheepie schick razors from WM, hair color and those stupid air wick spray things. Now to start collecting stuff for 4th of July. I've been doing these for 3 summers now and I have "regular" customers who wait for me to set up. LOL! My first customer spent about $75 and at $1-3 an item, that's A LOT of stuff sold right off the bat!

constanz22: Great job on your sale! I don't get enough to really sell--my kids and some of their friends like to shop in the garage, aka, Murphmart. They never take the Airwick things either. But I use them throughout the year so not a waste.

My first customer spent about $75 and at $1-3 an item, that's A LOT of stuff sold right off the bat! Constanz: Great job! Murpath: Except for the free corn (16 ears) and slaw mix at Meijers, I too am getting low on produce. Kroger has fresh pineapples for $1.00 next week and I haven't seen an Aldi ad yet. I hope they have a good sale. This was one of the best weeks of shopping I've ever had. I spent $57.58 OOP and saved $250.44 for 81% savings and a good portion was for meat. Walmart: I pricematched 2 Countrytime lemonade @$1.00 each, 4 Kraft BBQ sauce @ $1.00, 7 packs Purina Beneful @$1.00 and 1 summer top @ $7.88. I used 7 $2.00 MQ Beneful, 2 $2.00 CT peelie's, 2 $1/2 BBQ MQ which gave me $9.00 in overage. With tax, I spent $1.98 and I love the top I got. Kroger: I bought 5 Oscar Mayer bologna for DH @$1.00 each and used 2 $1/2 bologna from grocery store ad, paid $3.00 with money Kroger gave me from coupons the other day and got a $4.00 catalina. I then bought 2 Breyer icecreams, 1 box popsicles, 1 box fudgesicles, and 1 box of chocotacos for $9.50. I used 2 $.50 IPQ Breyer, $1.00 IPQ chocotaco, $1/2 popsicles IPQ and $4.00 catalina. I paid $.50 OOP. I'd be lying if I said all the icecream was for DH, but most of it is. I love the chocotacos! CVS: I bought 8 Pantenes, 1 travel Crest mouthwash and 2 candybars. I used ECB's, MQ and CRT and paid $1.23 OOP.

Ohio, no inserts this weekend. Twin, too funny.. so, what are you going to do with the sandbox? It was a thoughtful gift though.... I'm thinking the Ecotrin at Wags is the best bet right now. But, I still have $11.00 EB at CVS that expire next week. Been too busy at work and around the house for figuring out their best use. If I figure out anything useful, I'll update. There's nothing I'm really looking for except some coffee creamer and some chips to go with some burgers.... Great job Constanz! Have a great day!

I can't believe they have SunDrop in CA now. It's been bottled in the Carolinas forever, and in the past was pretty much impossible to find outside of the mid-atlantic/midwest. I'm going to tell my mom she can quit packing it in her suitcase when she goes out of town Great job on your yardsale constanz. I sold some stockpile goodies on ebay this week to get ready for my move, and netted almost $40 I know it's probably the wrong time of year to ask, but is anyone collecting box tops for education? I'd love to pass on what I've collected and get rid of them before I have to finish packing.

Leanna, thank you for the offer. If you PM me I can give you my address. ;D I was looking down the list of names to see who I can remember as being on here a long time. Wonder how the old set of folks are doing and if they still read posts like I usually do even though they are not posting. When I don't post I check it at least 2/3 times a week even though me name doesn't show up. Even though I have enjoyed my break, I will be making plans to head back East. I find it very hard to not have a car. I walked to the stores today its a mile e/w plus all the walking around in the grocery stores and I got home after 4 hours completely beat. I went for a nap and 3 hours later woke up. Albersons has an amazing lemon cake in the bakery dept. I ate half when I got home. But their prices are to me, sky high. Some things are double PA prices that's shocking. Wonderful C/S though.

DH and I just got back from spending Friday night and today with my sister and her DH.
I guess no one does the deals in her neck of the woods. She needed to go to Nob Hill, so I decided to check for the Smart Balance buttery spread and they had all but one I needed to use up my coupons and rain checks.
There was a CVS next door to that Nob Hill and they had the Good N Natural bars that I had a rain check for. I still have 11 more to get, but at least I was able to get a few.
My sister and I spent most of the day working on a quilt for my DH. She's the quilter and I'm the ASSisitant. LOL. We are working on piecing it together. We probably have one more full day of work before the piecing is all done, but what we've done looks great. My feet are killing me though because I was standing and ironing or cutting all day as she did the sewing.

It is supposed to hit an all time temp high for this date today->95. However, I still MUST go out. Forgot I have $2 in WAG RR expiring today. I will spend them at Albertsons since I also have coupons for the 1 item I want this week at WAG asnd don’t see any filler items I want or need. I will get another $2 in RR that I have a ‘plan’ to use week of 6/3.
I plan to go REAL early so there is stock and its not gotten too hot. I’ll probably treat myself to a cheap ($1) mocha frappe at Burger King too.
Dogsmom You might want to check if your CVS takes expired EB. I know mine does, at least for a while. They do need to be manually input after they expire. That plus the fact they have longer 'natural' lives is why I prefer CVS.

Holly, the CVS closest to me does not accept expired EB's. Thanks though for the suggestion. I did stop at Wags this morning, and did okay. I only had a couple items that I mentioned before that I was really looking for...coffee creamer and some chips. But, what I ended up with was: Wags: (three transactions) Ecotrin 2 for $3.00 used 2 $1.50 mfr coupons, paid .07 tax, got $2.00 RR (we were down to our last bottle and a half) Did that transaction twice. Last transaction: Vanity Fair paper plates (PREFER) B1G1 $3.99 (regular price $3.49 each, so high, but not bad) Lays Chips Sale: $1.99 Subtotal $5.98 plus .55 tax, used $4.00 RR, OOP $2.53 Next, to CVS where I had $11.00 EB expiring today. Got one OFF clip (DH is outside alot and west nile has been located in the suburbs) $9.99 Two Coffeemates @$2.50 each Used $2.00 mfr coupon for Off, 2x $.50 off Coffeemate, $11. EB, plus lousy tax $1.38, OOP was $2.37 and got $2.00 EB. I still have gift cards for CVS, but I left them on the kitchen table. I guess next time. Thanks Dancin for the tip on the Ecotrin. Karma for you.

Plus their rewards are easier to use - no matching the number of coupons to the number of items. In addition, they give CRTs that can be stacked with MCs. When WAGs had the ESR program, it was my #1 place to shop. Ya can't beat $0 OOP each and every day, day in and day out. When that came to an end, so did a lot of my shopping there.
