Down to 83 days to go! With Ryan on the ticket there is no stopping Romney! You're absolutely right. There is no stopping Romney getting his ass handed to him by Obama.

it really doesn't- though Romney did get a 1-2% bump from that choice. I think he got a 1-2% bump for making a choice, period. We won't see the impact of this particular choice for a few weeks - probably not until after the convention or the VP debates. (McCain got a pretty good bump for naming Palin as his running mate. It got bigger after her speech at the convention, and then fell apart every time they let her speak after that)

With the Ryan budget, the dems now have everything they need to win going away, it's theirs to lose. All they have to do is keep repeating how budget cuts and tax changes on the middle class and below will go to tax cuts for millionaires, and show it on paper.
They do have a way of not maximizing their advantages though .... and sometimes the electorate votes for the messenger instead of the message.

I like the idea he announced Ryan a couple of weeks before the Convention. Lots of stupid stuff will not waste days after the Convention explaining, "WHY RYAN?"
Romney and Ryan are already off to ther races. I am wondering if Mitt in the first Presidential debate, when asked by Obama, "why not release your tax records?", answers, "I am glad you asked. We have everything backstage for you right now" Go for it."

We have everything backstage for you right now" Go for it." How about a response of, "I have asked you to release them not to me, but to the American people. Please issue a press release with all of them attached"?

Rasmussen has him down 1% this morning, and their poll has about a 4% GOP bias.(McCain got a pretty good bump for naming Palin as his running mate. It got bigger after her speech at the convention, and then fell apart every time they let her speak after that) McCain got a bump for almost a month from her. wait, that doesn't sound right. ;D

80 days to go! Anyone catch Ryan's speech before senior citizens this morning in Florida? Granted, it was in a complex of rich retired senior citizens ( The Villages) but he had a warm reception from the retirees.

When Joe Biden and Paul Ryan debate in Danville, Kentucky on October 11, Party! Biden will do fine. he is actually a pretty good debater. i really don't get why everyone expects Biden to get foot in mouth at the debate. he hasn't ever done that before. it is always extemporaneous, unprepared, off the cuff stuff that trips him up. if you think the debates will have ANY of that, the joke is on you.

I like the idea he announced Ryan a couple of weeks before the Convention.I still don't quite understand it. Romney was hammering Obama on the economy and jobs. Since announcing Ryan the conversation has not moved from medicare. If Romney wanted Ryan as a VP he might have been better off waiting till after the election to announce.

If Romney wanted Ryan as a VP he might have been better off waiting till after the election to announce. i think that putting Ryan on the ticket was a defensive move. he wants to shore up the base, so that he loses by 5% rather than 15%. what Romney needed to do was to expand his appeal to Independents. i am not convinced that Ryan does this for him at all. instead, by shifting further to the right, this election is now about a choice between the 25 years of supply side economics that brought us to Obama, and Obama (rather than Obama -vs- his record). unless the economy goes down in the last two months, i think Romney is going to lose.

Ryan is not a great public speaker.
If we continue to focus on our VP candidate instead of the actual Presidential nominee we will never win.

"There's nothing we're hiding," Ann Romney told NBC's Natalie Morales. Asked why her husband isn't more "transparent," Romney seemed to get a bit irritated, leaning forward in her chair to answer questions. "Have you seen how we are attacked? Have you seen what's happened?" she said. "We have been very transparent to what's legally required of us. But the more we release, the more we get attacked, the more we get questioned, the more we get pushed. And so we have done what's legally required, and there's going to be no more tax releases given." -Ann Romney Hmmm....sounds like that whole business about Obama's birth certificate.

Well, the Obama administration has been able to shift the election to social issues away from the economy and the debt. One stupid Senatorial candidate in Missouri manages to sink his campaign message. Romney has to turn the Republican Convention back to the economy, the debt, and the socialist agenda of the Dems and Obama if he wants to win.

Ryan is a much better public speaker than Romney is. he would be wise to get him out on the road, particularly in the red states, and the red regions of the swing states.

Medicare as we know it ends medicare as we know it. Ignoring the math is not a strength. It is if the vast majority of the people voting don't understand the fact that it won't be there when they expect it to be and your only concern is getting them to vote for you in a few months.

And just what would be a "simple fix"? There is no such thing as a simple fix of anything in D.C. With plus 16 billion dollar deficit, it is time to gore the cow, and have some good barbeque! Tampa Florida is the place to be (next week). Things should gain some clarity, and we have Joe Biden down there for levity.

Sunday papers say the race is down to seven lonely states. Colorado Florida Iowa Ohio Virginia New Hampshire Nevada Who would have thought that Obama may be forced to have Harry Reid bring his state in for the President to garner re-election? Kind a appropriate dont'cha think? Looks like only seven states have to show up on election day. Electoral vote count stands at Obama 247 Romney 206 In 2008 Obama carried all seven states in play this year. This year, not so much. It's going to be close. Romney by seven votes, and Obama might have a plurality vote total. My question is, will Obama pull an Al Gore and not go quietly into the night?

Sunday papers say the race is down to seven lonely states. Colorado Florida Iowa Ohio Virginia New Hampshire Nevada agreed. except i think WI is more likely to be one of the seven than IA.Who would have thought that Obama may be forced to have Harry Reid bring his state in for the President to garner re-election? given that Nevada has been a swing state for a LONG time, almost everyone, i would presume.Kind a appropriate dont'cha think? Looks like only seven states have to show up on election day. Electoral vote count stands at Obama 247 Romney 206 according to whom?electoral-vote.com/evp2012/Pres/Maps/Aug27-noras.htmlif you are ONLY going to account for the states that either candidate has locked up, then the numbers are about 241-191. In 2008 Obama carried all seven states in play this year. This year, not so much. It's going to be close. don't fool yourself. it will either be close, or Romney is going to get crushed. you should therefore HOPE it will be close.Romney by seven votes, wait- you just said it wouldn't be close, and then you put the race at the closest in modern history? you must have a different meaning of "close" than i do.and Obama might have a plurality vote total. My question is, will Obama pull an Al Gore and not go quietly into the night? Al Gore should have fought harder. the fact that he didn't NOT go quietly in the night gave us the worst presidency since Harding.

I'm not following. How is this clip showing that Romney is in touch with your average voter? It shows him making pancakes at his palatial summer estate and talks about how he went to the grocery store by himself once. In 2002.
