The Romans aka Gentiles, wanted the Jews to worship Augusta as GOD after his plan brought peace to the Empire.. Hi H2H...................not trying to make you doubt anything;just talking, tho if any of it makes you feel doubtful, then its always good to have ones ideas challenged,as becoming too 'set in stone' is bad for ones spiritual and intellectual development.If 'the theory' is sound, then it needs no defence;ie you'll be able to dodge and weave with the conversation delightfully cos the inspiration comes from your own knowledge and not simply a set of ideas rigidly adhered to.....................dunno about 'final answers'................Im sure theres no way of 'wrapping it up', but theres often a way of enjoying it;hopefully in such a way as others enjoy it too.........................I was about to say that I never ,now ,look for answers, but despite my finer feelings, I proba bly do,and perhaps thats built in to our make up, tho god knows why, as its a fruitless serch, Im sure.

Not in the least bit, Egg. I realize the back and forth here is "for fun" in one sense and "for challenge" in another. I readily admit my limitations in not being quite able to nail down (articulate) how God pulled this whole universe thing off, maintains it and yet, so mindful of us. I also believe God's plan was manifested over a couple thousand years ago to reconcile man back to himself after their fall from glory in the garden, by means of his Son, Jesus. According to God's word, any who believe, receive and confess and hold these truths to be true during their God given time on earth, shall be saved from the penalties of not believing these things true.

The good news is the gospel of Jesus Christ. His purpose for being sent to the earth. To reconcile man to himself, if man would simply believe..

Can I prove beyond a shadow of doubt the good news? No, not if you or anyone else is looking for evidence to believe beyond every doubt of man. Faith would be rendered null if that be the case. But God can by his spirit, draw the heart of man to believe this gospel. First, God himself sets the heart of man in motion to believe... The bible says..

"No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up on the last day.'' (John 6:44).

After the drawing (the hearing of the gospel of Jesus Christ), Egg. Choice is made whether to believe or not, the good news. But until choice by the hearer is decided, to believe .. The ear or heart of anyone who choose not to believe cannot discern (come to believe) the truths of the Good News..

So.. The banter 'in the name of fun, or just having a good ole' time' is like precious pearls being tossed to and fro as in "let's play throw and catch the ball if you can".. And so what if the ball is dropped and kicked around?.. It is play-time for some. For others, the believer?.. It is their hope, for the players to come to hear and receive the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Know what I mean, Egg? I am not doubtful at all, in God. He is my ONLY hope.. In myself alone, there is no hope. I needed God and the salvation He offered me and still offers every man who listens to hear, who then believes in their heart and receive the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ..

The choice to believe is still a choice after man is drawn. Egg, I know you didn't ask for all of the above. I wanted to share this truth I stand firm on and will never waver on. As far as defending these truths, whether they be true or not is not a problem for me at all. Truth as I know it according to the word of God is problematic to others who choose not to believe.

My answer/response/defense and hope will always be found in God whom I trust.

HI HAm..............dunno wot JC was into, for sure, but assuming that he existed(and why would he not have?), he wasnt selling used cars, and supposedly talked of things spiritual, so he coould have only been about one thing.My feling is, that his teaching has been distorted down the years ,until, in his absence, it has become a kind of lunacy,complete with mythological happenings;its as if people feel that his message needs embellishing with religion,and wqasnt good enough as it was originally. All I know is that the First few verses of the Bible says that God told of that everything was a Void and "He said Let There Be Light and there Was an He said that it was Good." How elegant was that said so that every layman could understand the Beginning of the Universe and it took HOW long for us to prove that the Big Bang really happened? Now then, tyfighter...................you know that quoting the scriptures as an accurate account, is a bit contentious....and you have brought in two different issues,here;
1/..the origin/nature of 'creation'
2/the origin/nature of God

I would think that more interest lay in 2/,than 1/,as its all about 'getting to the bottom of things', or at least, that m ight make most sense for those looking for an 'answer'(I often think that 'looking for an answer' could more correctly be described as 'looking for a QUESTION',as the answer, such as it is,is seen by some to be self-evident,and needing no embellishments of intellectual meanderings, nor of religious inventions).............on the matter of 'invention', I believe that the Pope banned purgatory a while back, which consigns it to the realms of invention,along with how much else?
Agin on the matter of invention, there is an expensive search going on by CERN, for the Higgs boson, or ,as its sometimes called, the God particle,and so far, its not been found(nor will it, I'll bet,as we all know, that in science,every answer begs a hundred more questions)
SO where are we?.....................no answers- only questions, and us adding to them all the while,in an unthought out search for 'the answer'..it could be like pouring petrol on a fire to extinguish it,and seing this, maybe its why people who espouse a particular religion will say 'this is it,and thats that,and I'll never consider another way of looking!'...there is some wisdom in this, as one can look for ever,and to stick to one perspective,however odd, stops the endless looking,and any method for doing that is getting closer to the point.
This last point, you could liken to the old cookie of meditating by contemplating a candle flame.the flame itself, is just a flame,and a boiled potato would serve the same fun ction, but its slows the minds searching and searching,enough, sometimes, to let in a glimmer of truth.

My only fight is the good fight of faith.. In other words. I don't want to fizzle out by throwing my hands up in the air and say forget about it all because of the world around me in its chaotic conditions or any imaginations that exalt itself above what God says about himself or us..

I feel like flipping birds all over the place in fights right now, but never this good God kind of fight.

The above truths in my lengthy post.. I will never waver on. Period. Now, considering most of everything else, I am willing to hear and learn more if there's an interest. But as far as what I made post to and according to the word of God.. "It is finished."

I'm not sure if it was you who said the following or someone else concerning religion verses and invention.. I though the point was on point. If I never hear another series, lesson, teaching of fables - myths -concoctions or the like on religion invention as means of one being in right standing in with God by way of Jesus Christ it won't be too soon.
