Now then...............bringing this JC bizzo into it certainly complicates matters somewhat................... your step remark, I think implies that the journey is the destianation,or have I misunderstood? Anyway.......................taking as read the fact that there is no proof of much, if of anything, JCs part in it remains obscure to me............... JC sure did "complicate" things... Mr Egg, even an unknown journey beings with a step... The ability to adapt is perfection. It has been a crazy few days for us around here, aside form the Swimming, soccer, baseball, Tae Kwon Doe routine, my wife was in a friends wedding this weekend... However, relatively speaking, it really was an uneventful last few days... ;D

but I m sure that Ive read other books that say the opposite...................................... Oh, egg.. No need for the confusing face. According to the reading of my word, what you've said has been foretold. There will be others who will rise up and claim their truth too.. Still boils down to choosing which truth or fiction one chooses to believe is all..

BTW...............I already know that its impossible to trip up a believer...............whatever the believer believes in!( thats belief for you.................) I think believer's who believe and hold on so tightly to the gospel of Jesus Christ are as stubborn as others who believe their gospel too, which is another gospel. Makes life interesting.

Is belief the same as knowledge? Is this a trick question, egg? You must not lay snares of semantic entrapment's before me to bite into.. See what big teeth I have. ;D Just having fun with you. How about we see what the online dictionary says concerning knowledge. Okay? knowl·edge (nlj) n. 1. The state or fact of knowing. 2. Familiarity, awareness, or understanding gained through experience or study. 3. The sum or range of what has been perceived, discovered, or learned. 4. Learning; erudition: teachers of great knowledge. 5. Specific information about something. 6. Carnal knowledge.

Oops.. Meant to bring balance to knowledge be·lief (b-lf) n. 1. The mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or confidence in another: My belief in you is as strong as ever. 2. Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something: His explanation of what happened defies belief. 3. Something believed or accepted as true, especially a particular tenet or a body of tenets accepted by a group of persons.

Sooooooo...........belief is ,by definition, unfounded, and possibly bolstered up by a 'leap of faith'.?.and remember that there is no real 'scientific 'proof either- mathematics seeks to establish unassailable truth, and so far,all mathematical explanations are open to addition and alteration;each 'answer' begets more questions. This , however doesnt validate religious belief, which to an objective observer, looks a bit of a vain hope,or at best a crude way of seeking 'the truth'............................ For myself, these things rarely trouble me(tho the discussion is often fun),and my troubles only extend to where Ive left the bottle opener, rather than whether god did it in 6 days or a couple of months..... (im an ignorant tuss! )

Uh-huh.. Now egg. I do not consider you an ignorant truss at all. Just one who likes stirring the pot. It's for your fun and its' my sit-back-and-watch truth unfold. Jabs being made @ the believer was foretold long before your fun-time with us came into play. It's been written we would be called ridiculous by many. ;D Makes us believe even more, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Absolute absurdity for some and absolute truth for those who believe. ;D

Found some common ground in which we agree. Like you, I don't believe everything I read either. Only what I believe is truth.

NOw just hang on there, H2h..................if its truth, then you know it,you dont have to merely believe it...'take the cash and leave the rest; heed not the music of a distant drum'(Omar Kayyam)
Also............................wait for it......................I should imagine its been typed more often than its been written, and when it was written,I think it was at least a couple of hundred years(maybe a bit more), after the events that were written about, but what do I know- I wasnt there,or at least, as they say on telly...' I have no recollection of it'
'What is truth', asked Pilate, and didnt stay for an answer..........................................

We are like eggs and ham... That sounds like a snowflake that turns into a snow ball that causes and avalanche... ;D A man searches for his bottle opener for 2 weeks which, relatively speaking, COULD be a mere moment for God.... ;D That's a good one Mr. Egg... Truth is the light that shines through history... You can only hide it for so long..

or.................God searches for his bottle opener for two weeks, causing temporary insanity due to lack of alcohol. funny, innit, that popular myth put both Pilate and Judas as bad guys, when in fact, the opposite may have been the case............................ Truth is the light that shines through history......or u could say instead, that it shines through your life, since all else alters, over time, leaving just that,ie, you can never be misguided;only more or less ignorant of the Truth, and that to understand ,all you have to do is to be patient, and refrain from hopeful inventions and fabrications(tyhis latter takes quite some self-conrol sometimes..............) PS dunno how to put stuff in quotes, so it gets a bit mixed up...anyway, its sunday,so, like God, I was hoping for a rest today, but have a feeling that Im mixing concrete, and laying floorboards instead, which will temporarily stop me wondering where i came from, where I am now, and where Im going..........( tho the answer cud be that the answer to those is the same for each one!)........... Anyway................g'mornin fellow believers(am I a 'believer?................)....................'not a trace.....of doubt in my mind'........ Eggs and ham sounds OK,'cept I'm usually up for the veggie option,as poor ol' Mr Piggie probably doesnt enjoy his fate as much as I enjoy my breakfast! No doubt(!) youre all off to church whilst Im sinking in concrete, so say one for me, just in case it helps.....................TTFN.............

Piate is a tyrant there is no doubt, however, we know Judas was pd to betray, we know JC could have escaped, and we know that some know think JC ask Judas to betray. Some even thin that the Judas of Galilee that started the revolts against the Romans was most likely a good friend of the Messiah. Great point about light egg, although I will take some Canadian bacon when I get the chance. Don't fancy church much. You can't be Jewish and believe JC is the Messiah and you can't be Christan and only follow the tohra, . That's why I have always preferd a more masaonic way of looking at things. Have a great day egg.

Aha,ham....you DID pick me up on the pilate and judas thing..........................so...............................Judas............ assuming that the story is to some extent, true and not a retrospective invention, we'll picture Judas as being at least initially inspired by JCs teachings, and swept up in the enthusiasm of his compatriots, so its not easy to see why he would suddenly want to send him to his death, simply for money(tho its possible). MOre likely, is the scenario depicted in 'Jesus Christ Superstar', where he is shown as having the intention of organising a meeting with JC and the Sanhedrin, foor the purpose of reconciliation, not realising that the Jewish preisthood simply wanted rid of the upstart;this would be why he hanged himself, on realising that he had been duped into having JC arrested and tortured, when it hadnt been his intention. Probably, the story is apocryphal,as may be most scriptural stories, but it does illustrate a common theme in human doings.............betrayal(whether real or imagined) . Now- Pilate.................HE didnt approve of JCs execution,(reading between the lines)........................when questioned about the bit of wood which had been stuck on the cross, intending sarcasm, saying 'king of the jews',Pilates reply was '(apparently) 'what I have written, I have written',implying that he felt that JC was if not divine, then at least special, and the unofficial title was justified, and that his(Pilates) part in the execution was under protest;this last, pictured by the 'washing hands' thing........ No doubt Pilate was a tyrant; he would have to be, to do the job he had, but perhaps he had no interest in killing a young man for no reason other than the (despised) jewish priests displeasure ,and the mob that they encouraged you have a nice day too, ham! spk sn

Enjoyed the banter, if you will, though. you cant just simply end an age-old controversy in so trite a manner,H2H..............as if you kn ow whats what, and thats an end to it; its as if you dont feel confident in your ability to operate in the arena of your(and my!) choice...........pick up your trident and fight, gladiator ,and stand your ground...you know that we're only here for the fun of it.................... I dont t understand about the pearls,H2H...................can u explain, giving examples to illustrate your answer? ;D

Being the man with the plan, he would not have sat around a got capture by the Romans to be executed by the Romans unless there was a REASON for this... Archeology PROVES there was a very BIG reason.... DECODING THE ANCIENTS (FKA CHRISTIANITY DECODED) | THE ROMAN ARMY’S SECRET CHRISTIANS www.history.ca/ontv/titledetails.aspx?titleid=117598 The Romans DON'T talk about this at all in the New Testament, and there is NO mention of the uprising in Judea after Christ was Crucified.. Why? Does this sound like a people that willing gave their messiah? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judas_of_Galileeen.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_War Pilate was a Tyrant and I'm sure he enjoyed sending JC to his doom. There was a great special on at Christmas time.. The Story of JC, more Historical than religious( based in archaeology).. Goes into detail just how bad of a guy this man was, and how his character is CHANGED (even in the bible) when it comes to the story of the cruxicfinton. THIS makes sense because when ROME was forced into adopting Christanity, they couldn't say that it was the Romans that Killed JC.. Ya know??
