Got a really nice P&G sampler in the mail today with some nice Q's too!
Did a RA deal on the fly today: Swiffer starter, 8.99, -$2/1 (from previous PG Sampler booklet) Swiffer refill, free w/q, buy a starter kit, get refill free from this weeks PG 2 Samy hair stylers, .99 after in-ad q 2 prestige eye shadow, .19 after in-ad q 2 softlips 2 packs, .19 after wellness discount and in-ad q 1 softlips single pack, free, 1.59 with discount, minus $3 in ad q Half gallon milk, 1.59 Choc covered cherry filler, .26 Used $10 Up, total was .09 before tax, 2.36 with tax, got $3 Up back for softlips.
While wandering cvs waiting for a prescription to be filled, I saw they have signs up for a monthly deal on cvs HBA items, spend $15, get $5 EB's. Too bad I couldn't do any shopping while I waited. We got the awful 1 page test ad...not a thing worth getting this week...

Is it just me, or is anyone totally underwhelmed by today's coupons? I'm hoping there is a jewel lurking in there somewhere. It's not only you. I was coming here to post that I only clipped 1 coupon out of all 3 inserts and my coupons are generally ok - not land of the CC or land of greats but ok. These days the sunday coupons are quite crappy esp. the RedPlum inserts. I had only 2 coupons in there and I am not sure why they even bother. But thank God for internet coupons, they are a real life-saver.....and Target coupons as well. ;D

Thanks for sharing that article. I hadn't seen it. Part of the problem, actually, that we're having these days is that SO many more people are couponing. And the retailers/manufacturers are not providing enough stock. So if you have 12 items on a shelf and 20 couponers for that store, 8 people are going to do without. I'm presuming a limit of 1 and that it's enforced. I think that although there are definitely annoying ECr's (we've all experienced that), by and far, mostly what I see is fellow couponers - just more & more of them. And the supply is not keeping up with the demand. It makes people irritated and defensive - both couponers and store personnel. Couponers think other couponers are clearing the shelves. Store personnel think greedy couponers are to blame. Etc. I went to my Wags yesterday and the entire Colgate shelves that were FARR were cleared except for one lonely Colgate. I was only going to pick up one for a friend, so no big deal. But I'm really at the point of slowing down or maybe even taking a break from the drugstore games. I've spent down my UPs to a really low amount - just have a few left.

I agree that getting deals today is a lot tougher than it was in the past so I get especially excited when one comes along. I used my Meijer cats today and did a little bit better than I expected. I had to throw a candy bar on the total or lose the cat amount. For $.53 OOP I got 2 bags Gortons fish, 6 bags of Oreida potatoes, 5 white chocolate Indulgances and 2 lbs. of special coffee.
I have hardly been doing anything at CVS but I still have UP rewards to use at Rite Aid. The Softlips deal is a limit of 4 and a decent moneymaker.
I agree that the coupons have been crappy.

Hound Alert:
I had several people ask me about coupons I am looking for, and of course, I didn't remember this one (for the most part), so here goes:
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the $1.50/1 Glade Scented Oil Warmer coupon from the 2/12 SS. Thanks!

The only really good one I saw was for the Olay bar soap in the P&G insert. It's $2, which is pretty rare. The coupons I got were missing a zero! I got a whopping $0.20 off Olay bars instead of $2. Seriously P&G?

Thanks Dancin, for the good advice. He is worth it, and the better food probably is too. SaveinLA, thanks for the Kashi posts. Unfortunately, I was off and missed them. Are they still on? Freesalsa, There is another frozen deal this week at SW. I just bought 3 packets O Organic frozen veggies & 1 small box of pictsweet veggie & rice medley and received 5$ cat back on new frozen food. J4U Price on the organic veggies were 1.99 each. So 6.97 and get back 5$ cat. The deal is buy 10$ in FF and get back 5$ cat to use on new frozen food (not sure what new is). Kraft cheese catalina is also working here. My J4U price for Philly cream cheese is 1.74 and it's on BOGO sale this week. So buy 4 - 8 oz tubs and get back 3$ cat. Comes to 48 cents for 4 small tubs of cream cheese.

I don't know, but tragically, the Old Spice coupons were afflicted with the same disease. For $0.20, I barely want to whip out the scissors!

Seriously P&G? Are you sure? The Ivory/Safeguard was .20, but the Olay soap was $2. P&G are usually standard denominations, unlike others that tend to be regional. ETA: I got 3 papers from 3 different areas, 1 PA, 1 NYC, 1 upstate NY and they are all the same and have the $2 Olay.

It was the late 80s when I first started using multiple coupons to build stockpiles. I never had ANY competition back in those days. My grocery chain that doubled coupons had (3) locations in my little town so I would "make the loop" so that I would not clear shelves and could "fly under the radar" so to speak.
Yes - many, many more people are using coupons on a more-than-average basis than ever before and there definitely have been product shortages. Geez, recently it took me until the very last day to be able to use my Mennen coupons at CVS, my IAMS pet food coupons at Target, and I FINALLY got to use all of my POM coupons at Safeway. I had NEVER encountered this problem until 2011. The problem has been compounded recently by the fact that while the number of stockpilers has dramatically increased (thanks to TLC), the number of "deals to chase" has dramatically decreased. As a result, chasing deals is requiring more time and effort. IF the product is something that I really need, I'll put forth the effort; if not, I let it go. I am not willing to spend the time and effort to try to get something just because it is free if I already have a stockpile of said item.
And to top it all off, a lot of non-couponers are ticked off at the stockpilers. (Did you read some of the comments that followed the article?) There are a lot of complaints about empty shelves, but I sense that people just really don't like the idea of someone else having found a way to get something for nothing.

One thing that I was really happy about was the fact that CVS started offering deals where you could get CVS GCs instead of reward coupons. I have been able to accumulate (15) of those $10 CVS GCs since Black Friday. I'll have them so that I can jump back in "for free" at any time.

MissPT - Are you sure it's the 2/12 SS? It's not in mine and I no longer list those in my database because I just don't buy things like the Glade warmers. I will gladly send you the q's if I have them. If it's that insert - I'm sorry, but I don't have it. I know it's unlikely you made a mistake, but just in case, let me know. DancinMama - Yeah, I'm more doing the Price Book thing really. I.e. Last week got Coke at Wags for the low price. Got Tide at Fred Meyers for the low price etc. I'm definitely totally stocked up on all those drugstore things we all have, and these days it seems a lot of the drugstore freebies are weird stuff. Although, I will say there are a few goodies this week at RA with the in-ad coupons, so I did get sucked in, despite my best efforts to stay away lol. Picked up Samy shampoo & conditioner. (I think I got the idea from you, MissPT.) And I picked up RA brand q-tips. I mostly use those to remove eye make-up and you seriously cannot beat 40 cents for a large pack of generic q-tips!

Leanna, thanks for checking for me. That's the insert that HCW has them listed in, and that's my insert that I have them in right now in my hot little hand. In regard to RA, I have to go back and get some of the q-tips, and I think I might get some more of the kushy foot trouser socks at .20/pair. I bought some a couple of weeks ago when they had a UP reward, and I really like them.

Repeat Late HOUND ALERT!!!$1/1 Philadelphia Indulgence from the 2/26 SS It is for the Munch Mania deal at Shoprite. They are part of a long list of items that if you buy $25 worth you get $20 in cats for future weeks plus there is a Phila and Kraft cat making it a screaming deal. That and the dark choc variety just maybe our newest addiction. I just need it by Sat so if you can share any coupons with me and can get them out by tomorrow it should be no problem getting them here. TIA!!! Anyone?

But thank God for internet coupons,
Trouble w/intenet coupons is that NONE of my independent markets will take them, only the natl chains which are MUCH more expensive (ususally) even after coupons esp when I have to pay my 9.5%sales tax on the before mfg coupon amount.
As a matter of fact, my closest independent store (and right next to Aldi) does NOT take ANY coupons. They have a lot of good prices on produce and ethnic specialty items but why buy my beans or soy sauce or......whatever there if I can't use a coupon at all? I just get produce specials now and maybe clearance stuff.

Just wondering before I buy more today... constanz, It's a monthly deal - buy 2 and get 3$ back - limit is 4. The beeswax one counts for the Up. I think it's 1.99 reg(1.59 gold). Not sure when the monthly deal ends. HTH

Yes, it is a three dollar up when you but two, BUT today, 3/6, is the last day for this deal as it is a monthly deal. The beeswax singles do count, but I have heard they are dreadful. If you can use two in ad coupons, though you can get overage for other products.
