good morning all & Merry Christmas I'm going to make a quick run to the grocery store (hopefully they aren't too crowded yet). Then I'll meet for a run and get in a leg workout. Miss R, looks like we are more likely to have rain than sNOw for Christmas...then a 'frozen mix' for Sunday.

Morning all....got a few minutes break here. I ran this morning and dropped a bill, a donation and my Race for the Cure registration in the mail. I just scooped the truffles, and they are chilling in the fridge for coating and decorating later. Cheesecake is cooling, and I will do the double-chocolate bundt cake when the cheesecake is done. Laundry is put away, and I will make lunch in a bit. Tonight's dinner is a double-test menu of two different macaroni and cheese dishes that I am doing for one of my freelance requestors. Heck, if I have to work on freelance tonight, we might as well eat it first!

I went to the store this morning for some fresh veggies ~ it WAS a madhouse! I did just receive a quick 10-minute phone call from my wonderful DH, currently deployed to Iraq. It was just after midnight (his time) on Christmas Day ... and he wanted to get his call in early since so many want to be making calls, and he wanted to save time to call his dad, as well. Even at the best of times, there can be quite a wait for phone and internet/computer access ~ so I was glad that I was home for his call! This is his 7th deployment to Iraq with the USAF, and I know I'm growing weary of all of this. But, YAY for a phone call!!!

Molly glad you DH was able to call. When my nephew was in Iraq those phone calls were precious.
I am more or less ready for tomorrow. The stuffing is made, the asparagus is cleaned, the cranberrie sauce is made. I did not get the homemade cinnamon rolls made for tomorrow's breakfast. We are having a butter braid instead that the band was selling. It is thawing / rising right now for tomorrow morning..
I need to go get ready to go to Mom's tonight and pretend that I am hungary. Mom's is only still semi snarky that we are eating and leaving to go to church. See the other board for full details.

Morning, kids. I was having a hard time yesterday, and tried to stay away. I'm better this morning. Opened gifts with the g'kids. Got some stuff that I'd forgotten that I'd mentioned during the year like a One Touch can opener (as seen on TV!). Handy little gadget for old people who struggle with a traditional can opener. RJ, Buba? Buba? WTE? Still no sNOw here and not even any rain, although I just looked at the radar on NOAA, and it looks like it's about to hit us. Thanx for breakfast, Peach. Happy Christmas to everybody. Hope Santa's elves remembered to put everything that you want on his sleigh. If not, tomorrow is National Exchange Day and lots of good sales. Remember to tell everybody who means a lot to you that they do, indeed, mean a lot to you. This just in case you don't get another opportunity. I'd give all the rest of my days on earth to tell TGH just one more time.

Merry Christmas!!! That breakfast looks great Peach. ;D Miss R I hope you have a nice day. Watching the Gkids open presents is nice. DH's father came by last night and left at 9 this morning. He swears he had fun. We are just having a ham with mashed potatoes and garlic carrots for dinner. So I have most of the day to relax and enjoy my presents. A bottle of wine and a bottle of vodka.

Thanx, Peach I feel better now, except that I'm getting hungry. Maybe I'll just boil some water in my new whistling tea kettle to make a cup of tea and have a cookie. Or two. Peach...it's sNOwing up here and has been sticking from the first flake, probably because we didn't get the rain first. The forecast up here has changed to 2-4"...and to think I didn't believe it was going to happen at all Good thing it's a weekend.

Thanx anyway...I'm saving myself for turkey and honey baked ham. And whatever all else DD has planned for us. There's an apple pie for sure and fruit salad, I think. Turkey breast is in my oven. Ham is still in the fridge. We have about an inch of sNOw on the ground already. Ew. Remember Snowjam? Maybe early 80s? Hope this isn't going to be another one of those.

I will have to make mine decaf though...my eyes are twitching. I am not sure if it is from too much caffeine or because I just got off the phone with my mom....

Merry Christmas Everyone, hope you all are enjoying this day with those you love. No white Christmas this year, which is very unusal for us. I can't even remember not having snow. Very strange winter season so far. Just hope the weather is good so my oldest DD and her family can get here tomorrow from WA.
