I'm with you, TheOtherMe.  I will layer a sweatshirt with a light jacket before I'll dig out my Winter jacket, even though I probably should.  I actually needed gloves to put gas in my car yesterday.  I hate the transition into Winter.

They don't want you to have a heart attack, so they give you one?! I'll pass.
I feel okay today, so far.

DD2 text and asked if I want to go with them to see Halloween lights (drive through), with them tonight.

I would, but a 45 min drive, each way, in the dark, for a 15 min drive through half a football field sized parking lot of lights, is too far away, for me to enjoy it.

Then she tried to guilt me.
Nope. Visiting goes both ways.

    I agree.  I'd hold off on extra activities until you're feeling better.  Just rest up tonight.  Any t.v. shows or movies that are favorites, just kick back & enjoy.

Good Morning Kids!  It's a chilly 38 degrees right now, but at least it's supposed to hit 60 degrees before the day is done.


Due to the roadwork here, we haven't received mail the last couple of days.  I hope I'm not missing anything important (and yes, we've got that "informed delivery" that is supposed to tell us what mail is on the way).

Call your doctor.  When Mom had her ablation done for Afib they also inserted a small monitor just under the skin on her chest.  She then had a monitor that she plugged in next to her bed.  During the night it would send information on how her heart was doing somewhere, we told her it was going to the aliens.  If there were issues then her doctor was notified.

My DIL called me, in a panic this morning. She needed a dog sitter, for their neurologically sick dog, so she could run their other 2 sick dogs to the vet, in 15 mins. Luckily, I was able to rush right over, so she could leave.

I reluctantly turned on my heat when I woke up, today. Just to take the chill off.

After being woken last night, by the fire alarm and then being cold, I didn't sleep well, last night. I'm tired today.

I wish it wasn't raining.

     I'm sorry you dealt with that false alarm last night.  We could use a bit of your rain, as we're under a red flag warning here (no open burning allowed, as we're at high risk for wildfires).

Funny, my DIL and I had a conversation yesterday about wearing pajamas to bed and emergencies in the middle of the night.

It is so dark outside! Even though it's nearly 8AM. For some reason, the weather is having a greater impact on me this year, than usual.

Thank goodness, I'm not still driving to DD2s daily, now.

I could easily, hibernate and not come out again, until spring.

Good Afternoon Kids!  It's now dark here when the alarm goes off early in the morning, which I really don't like.


I went & did a bunch of errands today, including buying a lot of stuff from Sam's Club.  We really need to buy another freezer (we got rid of our dinosaur of a freezer before we moved, but it was probably sucking up too much energy because it was a golden oldie anyway).

What a week.  I have been on call yet again this week.  Part of being on call is not only handling things that pop up in the middle of the night but also handling anything related to routine maintenance that happens after hours.  Monday between the routine maintenance and the issues that popped up in the middle of the night I ended up working until 3am.  My boss did take pity on me and got someone else to cover Tuesday night so I could sleep uninterrupted.  Last night I worked until 10pm.  My on call ends Monday morning at 7am so fingers crossed for a quiet weekend.

Tomorrow the kids are coming over late afternoon to do yard sprinkler blowouts for the winter.  I'm making chicken enchiladas for dinner and DD is bringing chocolate cake for dessert.

Got the floors vacuumed while DH went out to do some leaf raking -- we do have leaf loss on trees here in the fall; some of our tropicals are very sensitive to temperature change.

Did a trail run this morning (nice out there - overcast and trails looked pretty good, considering the recent bad weather). Picked up two donuts for DH (key lime and raspberry). Came home and watered the garden and cleaned my shoes. Made a ham and cheese quiche. Washed the kitchen floor. Hard stuff is done.

We vote early tomorrow (first day of early voting here), and we need to get coffee beans. I have a coupon for a free latte at a local shop, so we will do that afterwards.

Dinner is turkey chili over Bavarian egg noodles I picked up at the international market last week.

I got called again for on call at around 1:30am.  I can't wait to hand this off to the next person.

DSIL did my sprinkler blow outs yesterday so hopefully none of that freezes this winter.  The yard sprinklers hadn't ever had a method for blowing out the water and every year something would freeze.  When I was having all the water related work done this past summer I had a blow out valve added.

DGD1 was fine when they arrived, maybe not playing as hard as usual but still messing around with her favorite toys outside.  When they got back from church to have dinner she kept complaining of being cold.  After dinner all she wanted to do was curl up on the couch with the soft blanket and get warm.  By the end of the evening she had a fever of 102 and was complaining of a headache.  I hope I'm not doomed to catch whatever it is she has.

Whoa, that brunch is far too healthy, for me! My body would surely go into convulsions, eating fresh fruit! But I'll gladly have coffee and waffles.
