Day 1 of physical therapy was yesterday and I just did the exercises at home today. PT ain't easy, but I know I can do this. I know you got this and will actually follow through and do your exercises. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Did them this morning after swimming, since I know I won't feel like it when I get home from the wedding shower. The nice thing is being able to do them on a chair, bed or the floor. Like, I really do need the alternative to getting up off the floor at this point.

Got back from the shower about 6. Emptied the trash cans, tidied the bathrooms and did my PT walk while the lasagna baked. Trying out my new massager. I think I can do this thing without hurting myself.

I'm sitting in the dark listening to it thunder, haven't seen any lightening. Yes I have electricity I'm just tired and feel like sitting with the lights off.

Had breakfast after my bike ride (more than twice as long as last week; no pain, but I have ice on as a precaution). Laundry is running and will make cookie dough later. PT exercise is schedule for 1 pm. I will do some weeding later on; we got some good rain on Friday. Dinner is chicken sliders and fries for DH; I will use my last skirt steak over a salad.

Just put in an Amazon order, including a laptop stand. High time I got one. And I had to clean up my yard after the idiot neighbor's tree trimmers came through. Those trimmings will be on his lawn very early Tuesday.

Good Afternoon Kids! I like the idea of returning your neighbor's "trimmings" NancysSummerSip. Yes, Winter has returned. We've got steady snow coming down, and my grass is almost covered up once again. (Boo!) One of these days Spring will arrive. I hope...

Thanks for the meal, Nancy. Been cheering my team on to victory this afternoon and it was hard work.
I think this one missed us. It is quite cool, but we got a skiff of snow overnight and that is it.

It has been snowing (more like slush, where I live) here, today. Supposed to get 7". And they're saying it will continue through the end of the week. Ugh.
I made tuna casserole for lunch, then realized I only had a tiny amount of cheese to put in it (1/2 c? Instead of 1 1/2 c). It's not very good. But I think it will be, after I get and add cheese. Bummer.

I need to get busy and get the house in order. It is upper 50's today but quite windy so it feels cold. I had to have someone out today for the well pump that is on my pasture well. I have an idea of what the final total is going to be. The worst of it is he just handles issues from point in the system back to the well. I still need to get an irrigation guy to handle a couple of issues with the valves, DSIL will deal with the broken sprinkler heads. I knew I had some broken sprinkler heads in the pasture, dumb cows, they would head butt them and rub against them etc. I didn't know I had all these other problems.

Good Afternoon Kids! It is snowing. Again. Man, this is getting old in a hurry.
I got DS up & ready for work today, then he wasn't working more than a couple of hours & I got a call that he's sick. Of course by then the snow is coming down hard. It wasn't a "fun" drive, but I did pick him up & bring him home. I'll keep him home tomorrow too, in the hopes that whatever he's picked up will go away.

I'm so glad the rain/snow stopped long enough, I made it to USPS and got the sleep study equipment mailed back/returned. I don't know how long it takes for them to recover the results and let me know about them. At least the equipment has been returned, so I won't be charged the $2,000.00, or more, for it.

I have slowly started opening the bills for my hospital stays. YIKES! So far, I owe $3,000.00 for my 2nd ambulance ride (to the fire dept). And $5,000.00 to the 2nd hospital I went to, near DD2's house. It's such a small hospital, they mostly just stabilize people and send them to a larger hospital, in the city for treatment.
I have no idea what my part of the hospital bills will be for the 2 weeks and the procedures I received at the main hospital I was at, or the doctors bills.
I could buy a new car for this amount of money, instead of driving the used 2012 Ford Focus, I currently am driving. (I can't afford a new car! DD2 and her husband help to pay my rent. Sigh.)
I'm afraid to open any more of the bills! Ugh.

TMR do you have Medicare? If so suggest you buy a Medigap insurance . Plan G will pay all the charges that Medicare doesn’t (except for the initial deductible think it’s $250) Both Jerseyguy and I have Medicare and medigap policies. Our bills the past year would have been huge even if only 20.% of what Medicare pays. Jerseyguy pays about $3500 and I pay about $2800 but for plan F . F is no longer sold, same as G but F also pays the deductible. F is more expensive than G Beyond paying bills, a huge benefit is not worrying about which bills have been paid, no bills coming in mail etc

I had plan C, Medicare, until January 1st, when I changed plans so my doctor would be in network. I had a heart attack Jan 8th and 2 more Jan 17th, I think. I really don't know much about my new carrier. I don't think the coverage is as good as my old plan. I need to call my insurance guy and discuss it, I guess. He tried to talk me out of switching. (I can switch any time during the year, because I qualify for extra help.) Having my cardiologist covered might be more beneficial than having my PCP covered. I haven't needed a cardiologist since 2015, so that wasn't on my radar.

Good Afternoon Kids! The sun IS out, but it's rather cold here, only in the mid-20's, so I suspect it'll take a while for the snow to melt, but at least the sun is up higher in the sky this time of year, so we've got a chance. DH took the snow blower & got rid of the 3-4 inches of additional snow that we got from yesterday. Sorry to hear about those hospital/ambulance bills, toomuchreality. Call your insurance provider first, to see if they'll pay. Then contact the billing office to tell them you just don't have the funds. When we were in FL, the hospital billing office told me she'd worked with people who had negotiated their bills down to 10 cents on the dollar, but she said only people with no coverage were eligible for that sort of offer. DS is still home sick, but getting squirrely, so I may need to at least try to send him back tomorrow.

TMR seems you might have switched to Medicare advantage (plan C). Regular Medicare doesn’t have networks! Also regular Medicare doesn’t require you to have an insurance carrier or agent.
Sadly you are now seeing the problems with Medicare advantage. This is sold by insurance companies that every year advertise incessantly on TV. Each insurance company has networks that can change every year. Our older son is a physician and prefers patients have regular Medicare. Regular Medicare includes plan A for hospitals and Plan B for doctors. NO networks!!
Regular Medicare will cover80% of bill, you are responsible for the remaining 20%. But if you buy a medigap policy it will cover the 20% again no networks . Plan G is a medigap policy that together with regular Medicare will take care of all your medical bills except for the initial deductible of $250. Medigap policies do require buying from an insurance company. ALL plan G policies cover the SAME so buy the cheapest

TMR if you are low income, regular Medicare won’t cost anything. My sister was low income and didn’t pay or have charge deducted from her SS.

I am a retired federal employee. I have Medicare Parts A and B and federal retiree BCBS. The BCBS is costly but the only out of pocket expense I have is for prescription drugs. BCBS has a new plan this year for Medicare recipients and so far my OOP expense for prescriptions has been cheaper than it was before. I also don't use mail order. It does have a network of providers and most here accept it.
I know nothing else about Medicare coverage. I hope you get things straightened out and can negogiate a payment you can afford, TMR

I get that. I wish I wish there was something I could do about it, but I don't think there is. My doctor's group sells very reasonable insurance for anyone living where they have doctors. I don't want to give up my federal employee insurance as it is better. I would still have to get prescription drug coverage on my own so I don't know if I would save money in the end. Because I pay so much to BCBS, they pay the deductibles to Medicare. I am cheap for them to cover because Medicare is primary and they get a lower negotiated cost than if I was younger.

TMR, does your state have a SHIP office where they will help determine which health insurance is best for you financially? If you can change during the year, it might be worth talking to them to assist you?

He didn't want to sign me up for the new insurance plan and tried to talk me out of it. He did what I requested him to do. This rep has helped me get reimbursed from my insurance, in the past, when I was unable to get it. I have used him since they came out with Part D coverage. This is definitely not his fault. Although I can understand why you might think that.
