Just ordered a new fan. I keep my thermostate for my a/c on 73. It's currently 74 outside. It's 70 inside. I got out my fan. I remember last fall I had decided it needs replacement. While it is working, it is making all kinds of strange noises. Then I get to figure out how to get rid of it because everything has to fit in the trash bin with the lid closed and this won't do that. Maybe post it for free on Buy Nothing or FreeCycle, say it's a little noisy but works... porch pickup. The problem I have is I live in a town of 2,000. People want me to deliver things and I am not delivering to a house to someone I don't know. Setting it on the curb doesn't work for the same reason. I will take the bottom off and see what all will fit in the trash. If I wait until a hot spell, people might get desperate enough to be willing to drive here.

Good Afternoon Kids! The sun is out, the temps are in the low 70's, and it's freakin' perfect outside! Days like this are what makes our miserable Winters tolerable. I wish I had time to play outside, but probably won't get time until mid-June. Oh well, it IS nice listening to the birds sing. We have so many that hang out in our neighborhood that we can hear them from inside the house, with the windows shut. Congratulations NancysSummerSip! If you get hired, do you plan to help any of your former coworkers bail to your new company?

I ended up calling out today and sleeping in, it was needed. I was up most of the night with an upset stomach and also have a very dry cough. I know which grandkid was responsible for the dry cough. He's too cute though to stop loves just because he is sick. DD stopped by today for a couple of minutes and left the kids in the car. I went out to say good bye and he was sitting in his car seat with a few tears because he didn't get to get out and see me. He also had orange swim goggles as part of his outfit today.

So far (1:22pm) I have done nothing.
I bought the utility shelves yesterday and started putting them together. Then I ran into a problem. The notches on one leg, that hold the shelves in place, don't line up with the other legs. They are about an inch off. Ugh. And I think I'm going to need help to get it put together, in my storage closet. Each leg has to be held and the shelves lowered over the top, individually and evenly. I can't do that alone.
DD1 said she will help. But I don't know when that will be. I'd like to get the shelves out of my living room.
When this project is complete, I will be one more step closer to being moved in and having everything put away. 😊
I need to find a handyman, to hang one (or more) large, heavy pictures for me. It needs to go into a stud. I can't lift it. I finally got it behind my couch, so it's not in the way, or in danger of being broken. I hope it's not still there in 5 yrs.
I would have never bought it, if I'd known it was so heavy and going to be a problem. (I didn't buy it, DD2's MIL did.) But I wouldn't have chosen it, had I known. It's both heavy and awkward.
I guess, I'll get up and get dressed. I wasn't going to, but I need to. I don't want to feel like a slouch all day. And I need to check my mail.
Currently, I'm scanning for channels again, on my TV. Hoping for better reception.
After I get a screen on my door, I can put my antenna outside, where it gets much better reception. I need to figure out a way to get put the antenna in my bedroom outside too, without causing damage.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I got notice that my new TV antennas were delivered today. I need to go check my mail.
I hope they work well and give me better reception than my current antenna. But my current antenna was supposed to be fabulous, so I'm not holding my breath.

(My other antenna had to be out on my balcony to get any reception) When I bought this other antenna, they offered me another one for $19.99 and no additional shipping. I was hoping for better reception, and bought the additional antenna. I'm glad I did. Now I'm starving, so going to go fix dinner. Have a good evening!

Hey Kids! It's been a very long day. Things started off with me finding out that one of the young adults that DS rides to work with every day tested positive for Covid, then when DS wasn't feeling well at work, I took him home & had him take a Covid test, which came up positive. So, since his regular doctor couldn't squeeze him in today, I took him to Urgent Care to get him a prescription for Paxlovid, and I'm praying he has a mild case.

I'm babysitting my grands tonite, while their parents go see a movie/have date night. Then I will sleep over at their house, so I don't have to drive all the way out here in the morning. (And home tonight)
I don't mind driving so much, but all the traffic makes me a nervous wreck. According to Google maps, it should take me just over 20 minutes to get here, from my new place. Today, with traffic, it took me 70 minutes. Ugh.
I just finished making tuna casserole for dinner. Before that, the 6 yr old had swim lessons. She excels at swimming. I'm glad she's found something she does well and enjoys.

We are headed to summer like temps for the weekend. DD and I decided for Mother's day that we will just throw some burgers on the grill and add in some chips and a salad and call it good. Oh and homemade chocolate cake for dessert. It should be close to 90 degrees so we will get out the wading pool and let the kids have at it and play in the water. The following weekend I will go see my Mom. There will be the hometown parade on Saturday and on Sunday will be the fireman's breakfast that we have attended many times. I will make sure she gets to both of those things while I'm there.

I'm glad it's Friday. I was up way too late working on work issues, even had to call the boss in at one point. Now my co-worker is busy blowing up teams and it isn't even 5am yet.

Sorry about your son busymomOne of my high school friends just got home from two weeks in Ireland. Both she and her husband brought home Covid. She said few people masked on the flight and they took off their masks to eat.

Whine warning:
I can't believe how stiff my body is and how much it still hurts, a week after my fall.
I need to buy more Tylenol. I think an NSAID would work better, but I'm already taking 3 blood thinners.
I've been trying to push through it, but I feel like I can barely move.

Do you have a good reusable ice pack? I pretty much ice my lower back every evening now. I also use some of the topical pain relievers. My favorite is T-Relief with Arnica. I rub that in and it really does help. Bio-freeze is also in frequent use at my place.

I can sort of use NSAIDs, but my digestive system hates me for doing it. Some days, what I need is a total body ice pack. (Going to check Amazon to see if there is such a thing). It's been a busy week, even with not working. This was my first week off in seven years. I have been job hunting, of course, but tackling a lot of other small projects. Tomorrow it's swim practice and stopping at Walgreens for a prescription, then to the phone store to see about their 55+ plan (DH and I may have to go together, but I will ask).

Epsom salt baths can be helpful for stiff or sore muscles. If you can’t do a bath, magnesium lotion is also good.

Good Evening Kids! DS is doing better today, although he is still sleeping more than usual. His illness has messed up my weekend plans, but oh well. As long as he gets better, that's my main priority right now.

I'm getting ready to head to bed but am going to set an alarm for midnight. We are right on the edge of the area where they say we should be able to see the Aurora Borialis. I have never seen this and it is a bucket list item for me. If I can wake up enough to get dressed I'm going to head over towards DD's. She wasn't sure if they were going to be up or not so I won't go near there house and set the dogs off and wake everyone up but I should be able to go up another road and sit on the side of one of the fields by their house. Hopefully I would have a good enough view from there.

I enjoy watching the sky at night. Especially when something unusual is happening. Even if that's just shooting stars. When my boyfriend was alive, we were constantly doing various things, like star gazing and attending different festivals. I hope you're able to get a view of them.

DD is out to see the Northern Lights too. I'd love to go see them, but I've gotta stick close to home tonight. Sometimes it's not easy when you've got responsibilities. Oh well, someday...

DD called and had me come up to the house. We sat in the front yard and you could see them very well. The colors weren't as vibrant as some of the pictures you see but I was thrilled to see them. DD told me that none of the GPS systems are working in the tractors right now they have all been affected by the solar flares. It was also interesting that as we were sitting in the yard you would hear the cows start mooing and a short while later the Northern Lights would be come more intense. I had noticed earlier in the day that the cows were mooing more than normal and wondered what was up.
