Ugh. I have been locked out of my patient portal account. Need to call office tomorrow, to get password reset. What a PAIN!
I thought I entered the wrong password. But it was because I was logging in using my phone.
Duh. Why didn't it ask me BEFORE it locked me out? How was I supposed to know?
Stupid.

Although we need water, I hope we don't get any big rainstorms anytime soon. Because I'm feeling selfish and not in the mood. But then, I'd rather get rain, then I would snow. I hope you didn't have to go out, @theotherme. I was out in the rain in the morning. It wasn't bad when I left home for my chai, but by the time I got to the highway, the rain was falling in sheets. My coffee shop is a drive thru, but a lot of rain got in while I was ordering and picking up the chai. It would have been far worse if I had to actually go in. I also try to stay off gravel roads when they are muddy but when I went to see the Toddler yesterday, the road was muddy. There were funnels floating around in the afternoon that were quite close but there were no reported touch downs of the funnels. The pictures I have seen show them pretty far above the ground. The airport officially got 3.5 inches of rain yesterday but the weatherman said unofficial reports show that we got more than that out this way. Sump pump has been doing it's job.

Good Afternoon Kids! Temps have been mild here so far. The high is only in the low 80's. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow, then the wildfire smoke returns Thursday.
I'm spending most of the day cleaning & throwing out stuff. We still have a lot of decluttering to do. I also need to wear my new contact lenses for awhile today, as it's a process to get used to wearing them again.

Thank goodness for the sump pump! We had one, growing up. It was worth it's weight in gold, IMO. It ran a lot.

I need to go to CVS or somewhere near to buy myself a pair of cheaters. <sigh> I'm going to start looking like those older women who used to work at the local drug store, who had a pair of cheaters on a cord around their neck, and using them only when they needed to read fine print.

toomuchreality My sump pump runs a lot. I'm told when this was farmland it was always wet and didn't produce very well. Probably why it was sold for houses. I have it replaced every two years. Sometimes it doesn't make it that long. I also have a battery back up pump so it does still run if the power goes out.

Hahaha... I buy my cheaters at all a dollar. I don't need strong ones, but they have all different strengths and styles there, for cheap. Then I don't have to worry about them, like I do my presentation glasses. I have one eye that's near sighted and one that's farsighted. After 30 yrs, they've finally gotten to the point where I do wear my farsighted prescription glasses when I drive at night and in bad weather. And I wear the cheaters if I'm reading, or on my PC/phone. (My prescription reading glasses were broken in a car accident, yrs ago.) I look like one of those ladies, without the chain. LOL But I don't wear glasses in public, very often. I keep my driving glasses in my car.

Basement flooded about 10 years ago when we got 13 inches of rain in 12 hours. Nothing like that has happened then.
I had about 4 inches of water so only ruined the carpet, which I have not replaced and won't until I sell the house because I don't use the basement.
At the time, the battery back up had it's own pit, so there were two sump pumps running. The company I used for clean up said that saved me as most people in town had feet of water and I did not have feet of water.

At the time, the battery back up had it's own pit, so there were two sump pumps running. The company I used for clean up said that saved me as most people in town had feet of water and I did not have feet of water. I've never known, or talked to anyone else, who had a sump, that I know of. I don't know much about them, just the basics, because I was just a kid when we had one. I didn't know that anyone ever had more than one. I'm glad you did, when you needed it most! That was a lucky break. Even though your carpet got wet and ruined, it could have been so much worse! When I was married to Ex2, our basement flooded twice, during all the years we lived there (and many years prior, when his dad owned the property). The 1st time, only a few things got damp. There had been an unusually large amount of rainfall, so we thought it was a fluke. The 2nd time, we had another huge rainstorm, we probably had close to 6 inches of water, or more, in all of our basement. We were using it for storage at the time and everything got ruined. Everything was in cardboard boxes. And since we only used it for storage at the time, we didn't go down there often, so we didn't catch it right away. It was a huge loss, for both of us and for my DD1 (all her baby stuff I'd saved, was down there.) We had the concrete walls sealed inside and the foundation sealed on the outside, after that. What a depressing mess.

I picked up some scripts this evening and a few groceries. Luckily, I found some fruit flavored Tootsie Roll minis, for my son in law, while I was there. YAY! That made me happy, because I know they are going to make him happy, when I see him on Friday.
They're not my favorite. But they're definitely one of his favorites!

Feel free to send me the vanilla flavored Tootsie Rolls. Besides the classic chocolate, they're one of my favorites!

In this small town, I am on rural electric co-op for electricity. Probably 80% of town is with another company. They lost power that night very early in the storm. I drove down one street and there were furnaces, freezers, washers and dryers sitting at the curb.
At our end of town, I only saw that kind of stuff at one house. They are at the bottom of a hill, so got lots of rain from other yards. House had just gone under contract to sell.
Most others had carpet at the curb.

Hi All!
Taking a relax day but it's going to be warm. Possibility of being out kayaking this afternoon. Will have to see how I feel.
Tea is seeping and I need to get some reading in before I take out the recycle.
Take care and keep cool if possible.

Good Afternoon Kids! All this talk about Tootsie Rolls, and what is on sale at the local grocery store? Yup, I bought a bag of the original kind yesterday...
I survived the dentist today, now I need to buckle down & get some work done on the house. Thankfully, the storm the weathernerds warned us about missed us completely last night. It's sunny & pretty comfortable, but the smoke is back, so they're telling people to stay indoors once again.

Peeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good to see you all! Been a fairly busy morning. Actually, busy since yesterday. Trimmed the hedges and cleaned the range hood filters late yesterday, swam this morning, did the Walmart run and home for some blueberries and cottage cheese. OK. I also ate a slice of wonderful sourdough I found at Walmart. The bread delivery dudes know me now and save me a loaf. I admit I inhale that stuff on the way home. I am my mother's child. I emptied the dishwasher and I running the cleaning cycle. I used some water and baking soda to clean the inside of my oven (it has a cleaning cycle, but it stinks when you run it) - turns out the baking soda actually works quite well! I do need to go out to Walgreen's for a prescription pick up before the rains come later - I would like to weed the yard some more, when the clouds move in. Dinner is orange chicken and broccoli. The PF Chang sauce was so good, I bought another package of it.

I was going to take a walk tonight, but it's still crazy-hot outside. Earlier today we'd planned to check out an open house, but they got an offer just before the event. Too bad, because the house would've been a good fit for us. Due to multiple reasons, including changes in our neighborhood, we've decided if the right house becomes available, we're going to make an offer, BUT, we're going to be picky.

I've been sleeping all day. Then I woke up to the sound of hail pounding on my roof and windows. Now the guy downstairs is banging on his drums. Ugh.
DD2 and her husband's family are out at an amusement park. The rain and hail have moved on to that area, so they're getting pummeled. I feel sorry for the little kids.

I hope the kids are ok, toomuchreality. The bad storms have missed us lately, but the hail that has come down nearby has been HUGE. I'm off to bed. I'll probably keep the fan running, as it's so humid outside that you can feel it, and even smell it inside our air-conditioned house.

I think they are, because I didn't hear anything different. DD2 said they decided to leave because the seats would be wet on the rides and some rides wouldn't reopen. I hope you were able to get some sleep. I have trouble sleeping in those conditions.

I slept well until 4:42 AM when Maddow started singing the song of his people. Even though he had been sleeping beside me, he wanted to be on me. Not sure if I actually fell asleep again.
I am charging the Kindle now and I hope to make it a Kindle day.

I got a trail run in this morning, just in time. As I was heading back along the exit trail, I heard thunder. No way I would want to be caught out there in a bad storm. Put a ham and cheese quiche in the oven while I took a shower, then tossed in a load of laundry and tidied the bathrooms.

You are the model of efficiency, NancysSummerSip. Thank you for serving up brunch! We made it back home from church just in time. The delivery date for my dog food order was moved up, and the truck arrived about 10 minutes after we got home.

I'm up earlier than I expected. Woke up at about 9:40. I hope I get some laundry done today and my sheets changed. Motivation is a challenge.
I thought today was Monday, when I woke up. I'm glad it isn't.
Enjoy your day!

Thanks for brunch, Nancy.
My Amazon ordered arrived a day early. It's still on the porch.
