I am immune compromised so I was getting them every 4 or 6 months I believe.  Whatever the time frame, I got a new vaccine.  

I made sure I got one just before I went to Toronto each time.

tmr the police didn't tell you who called in the welfare check? Did you ask them? I have only ever heard of someone that cares about you asking for welfare checks and I would think they would let you know who they are.
Since I never open the door to anyone I am not expecting and most the time don't even check to see who it is I would hope they yell they are the police outside my door before breaking it in. LOL

I am still wearing masks in all public indoor places I go. I briefly considered not doing it last week and then read that cases were going up again so I am glad I didn't stop wearing it.
I have had 3 vaccines but counts as 4 because I waited to get the 3rd one until it had been modified for the variant at that time.

We still mostly in the mid to upper 80s here. May hit 90 today and again one day next week. We are not getting as much rain as we were in June and July. Come on Fall!

I had only been inside for possibly 2 minutes, when the police came. So I assumed it was my neighbor and opened the door without looking (very unusual, for me). They did not tell who called and I didn't ask. Because you can see my balcony and breezeway from the pool and I had heard a woman ask, is she okay? while we were all out there talking (but I was standing in my doorway, so couldn't be seen). It was after that, when we went down and got my groceries and I moved to car to my garage, so I was surprised that anyone called.
I think I know who did though. And I don't care who did, if they were looking out for my safety.
(I've had issues with one of the neighbors and he threatened me, a few weeks ago. I think that's why the police were called.)

I should go get another one then. With the new variant and school starting, I don't want to get it.

Oh, my grands and my daughter all got foot and mouth disease, a week or 2 ago. Seems so miserable! I'm glad I didn't get it. My daughter just got braces on her bottom teeth again, so she was really miserable. Although my grands were miserable, as well.

It's crazy, how these illnesses are rearing up again.

Two summers ago, I got hand, foot and mouth disease from the Toddler.  I know I was very miserable.

Good Afternoon Kids!  It's been busy for a Friday.  I got fitted for contact lenses this morning.  (I haven't worn them in years, but if DD gets married I wanna look as good as a mom can for a wedding, so this gives me time to break them in.)


We might have some heavy storms heading our way.  We definitely need more rain, as we're still in a drought area.  But we can certainly live without any storm damage, so we'll see how it goes.  One of the advantages of where we live is that we can usually see the storms heading our way, and this one is building up to be big.

Went out this afternoon when I heard distant thunder and edges the lawn and trimmed two hedges. Of course, the rain passed us by.

Doing a load of laundry now. Dinner was chicken and meatball pizza, all leftovers. Yay for leftovers!

Whew, peeps. A scorcher out there. Pool was in the 70s this morning and felt really good.

Stopped at Winn Dixie for a few sale items, then home for a quick protein shake. Off to the bank, CVS and the fish store - bought Boston Cod. DH will have a potato with his and I will have a salad.

I got the front lawn and some of the back mowed. Will finish the rest later. I don't know how the landscapers do that all day. I am used to the heat, but still...

At least I was a good neighbor, unlike the moron next door, who started his landscaping before 8 a.m. last Sunday. I waited til the neighborhood woke up.

I'm trying to get ready to leave on vacation bright and early tomorrow morning.  I'm not ready to go at all and I suspect when I get to Mom's house she won't be ready either.  What makes it worse is that I don't really want to go.  I would rather stay home and putter around the house for the next week.  Mom enjoys these trips so I will suck it up and get her there and try and o all the things she thinks she wants to do.  It is so hard to get her in and out of the lake for swimming.

Last night my sister had to put my Dad's dog down.  After Dad passed away my sister was adamant that she wanted Dad's dog.  She works at the family business and my Dad brought the dog into work every single day.  Daisy had kidney failure so the difficult decision was made last night among all of us siblings that it was time to let her go.  That was the last of Dad's animals.

I was awake until after 4AM. So I slept until 9 this morning. Someone knocked on my door at 8:15AM, but I couldn't wake up to answer. I wasn't expecting anyone and figured they'd be gone by the time I could get there, so I didn't even try. I did look for a note later, in case a neighbor needed something.

I'm going to get my flu shot early this year (today), in hopes I can avoid getting it from my grands.

I had a great day yesterday, with the 3yr old. The 5yr old and her mom spent the day together. One on one.

Maybe I'll be productive today. I hope so.

Well, I got my flu shot. So that's done. Then I stopped at Taco Time and got a bean and cheese burrito with extra cheese.
I'm eating half now and will finish the other half later, if I get hungry. It's too big to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

I can graze all day long, but can't eat a lot at one time.

I looked for Fruity flavor Tootsie Roll minis, while I was at the pharmacy/store, but couldn't find any. I gave some to DD1, for her birthday, because I remembered that she REALLY likes them and I happened to see a bag when I was grocery shopping. (I only saw one bag, at the time.) I'd forgotten that my DSonIL also REALLY likes them. I want to give him bag of them too. But they're SO hard to find, around here. Ugh. I'll keep looking.
(DD1 didn't offer to share any of hers, with anyone. LOL) 😁

It's so freaking hot here. Only 90°F, but feels like 110° to me, outside. I'm a sweaty mess! Ugh.

I'm going to take my trash out and start my dishwasher. I need to bring the drinks I left in my car, inside. But it's too hot to do it, right now.

Summer is almost over. Can you believe it?
I can't believe it gets dark so early, these days. To me, it never seemed like we had longer days, this summer. But then, it hasn't been getting dark by 4PM, so we clearly did.

I may actually pull it all together and get ready to go by early morning tomorrow.  It will be about 7 hours of driving plus the time to load Mom's stuff and then a lunch stop.  So a very long day tomorrow.

The ham is baked, the cake is baked, the macaroni salad is done, and the au gratin potatoes are in the oven cheerfully bubbling over and making a mess.   The grapes and cantaloupe are cleaned.  All the condiments for hamburgers are gathered together.  I did two loads of laundry and got my bag packed.  The fridge is cleaned out so no science experiments when I return.  The garbage has also been taken out.

Still to do is clean the litter box, set out the food for the cat for easy access for DD to feed her while I'm gone.  I also need to finish packing the floaties for the lake and find a couple of beach towels and the clothesline.  I'm still working on watering the yard and then I need a shower.  I'm hot, sweaty, and filthy dirty.

Dinner done and the palm tree pruned, and the lawn is completely mowed. I am wiped out.

We actually took a walk through the neighborhood after dinner.  With so much wildfire smoke this Summer, we really haven't done a lot of walking outside, which is a shame, because once Winter arrives we're stuck indoors.  The nasty weather missed us yesterday, and cleaned up the air, so we'll try & enjoy it while it lasts.  I do feel badly for the communities who suffered hail damage.  It must be running into the millions in losses, for the images people have been posting of hailstones.  I've even seen tennis ball-sized stones, which is just plain crazy in this state.

It's hotter than I thought. My car says it's currently 96° in the shade, right now. I'm sitting outside Walmart, waiting to give my neighbors a ride home.
I keep thinking I'll leave and let them walk, like they planned to. But now that I've told them I'm here, I'm afraid they're buying more, or heavier stuff, because they have a ride.
And as soon as I leave, they'll come out, looking for me.

I was going to just sit here with my windows down, on my phone. But some filthy looking man came up to me and asked for money, for Fentanyl. That made me nervous, so I rolled up my windows and started my car, for the a/c and locked my doors.
People are so weird!

I found a good technical trail to run on this morning; it's a horseback riding trail within the big park I usually go to for trail training. Glad I found it, as my first race of the season is a rather difficult trail.

I am heading out shortly for my RSV shot. Since I had pleurisy earlier this year, I want to get this done, and a flu shot next month, before the racing season really gets going.

We did go to church this morning, but it's surprisingly cool for an August day.  In fact, as funny as it sounds, the squirrels are hyper today.  They're running around like they're storing up for a long Winter.  It's too early for that behavior, which we don't normally see until closer to Fall, so I'm wondering if they're hinting that the coming Winter is going to be a tough one.  Hope not.

Yikes. I hope not too (tough winter). I hope it's because it has so hot and the cooler temperatures are such a big change, they just feel more active. I'm not ready for winter. Much less, a harsh, long winter!

Good Afternoon Kids!  It's definitely been a Monday today.  I barely got Lola out of her kennel (both dogs prefer sleeping in "their" spot), and she pooped on the kitchen floor before I could get her outside.   Then, I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, and the new gal, although she was very pleasant to me, made me feel like she was digging to China working on my teeth.  I need to go back for more work, but on another day.  I'm exhausted!

It poured for about an hour this morning.  Now it's been pouring for about 3 hours.  I know a lot of rain has fallen.
