Sorry, I forgot to mention that whatever it was that I ran over, was in a heavy cloth bag, so I couldn't see what it was.
There was no blood on my car this morning, when I went out to get it out of my garage. That was a good thing! 🙂

OK...went out for a trail run...came back around 8:30 and the moron next door already had a work crew trimming his trees. DH said it started around 7:30. Who does that on a Sunday morning? OK, it is hot, and you don't want these crews out too late. I get that. And we are up by 6, so no biggie to us. But maybe the rest of the neighborhood isn't you thoughtless twit? Anyhoo, they are still out there, dealing with a gazillion bags of mulch in addition to trimming the trees.
We had our breakfast and I tossed in a load of laundry. I tried suctioning the A/C system like the tech showed me (it worked!) and cleaned my trail shoes. Got my iced tea and I am working on an Internet scholarship search project for a friend with a kid in high school.

Are you looking for scholarships? I have quite a list. For a friend, yes. I do not have children. He is a single dad, and a great one. She is a great kid. But the whole family situation was very stressful (mom/ex-wife) is an awful person who cheated and dumped them both. Fortunately, she is out of the picture.

That's HUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I will pass it on to them as is. They are such a great father and daughter who have both been through far too much. I hate that life has hurt them, but good people reaching out always helps.

Hi Kids! After a mostly sleepless night due to heavy rain coming down (we were on the top floor, where we could hear the rain & wind clearly) we are back, but tired. I'm starting up the laundry & then taking a nap.
It's good to be back home!

NancysSummerSip another good place to look for scholarships is within the department at the college. DD's degree fell within the agriculture department and there were many scholarships set up by alums. When we did the college visitations I made sure to attend every financial aid seminar offered by the schools. As part of the process I learned about these scholarships and the due dates. For DD the due dates were in December and then we would find out in February about any awards. Different college etc of course had different due dates. Today was very humid outside. Anytime I would try and do anything outside it wasn't long before I dripping wet, yuck. There is a slight chance of rain or thundershowers overnight. Some rain would be nice.

I attended a small private college back in the day. As my grades went up, I was receiving more scholarship money than loans. The last semester cost me $94 out of pocket. My books cost more than that.
An alumni couple with a lot of money has endowed scholarships for 1 student from each of Iowa's 99 counties. It's was worth a certain amount spread over 4 years. Each high school nominates a student from their district. The county extension office, which is overseen by Iowa State, makes the selection.
DN3 won that and he said it really helped keep his loans down. He also had done a semester and a half at the community college here. That helped him get done in 3 1/2 years.
The scholarship he won required that a 3.5 grade point be maintained and there were a lot of social events that were required to be attended.

Good Morning Kids! The air quality is poor here once again, which means I'd better stay indoors for most of the next couple of days. (Boo!) DH & I celebrated another anniversary, but it's just a reminder of how quickly the years are flying by. Regarding the scholarship hunt, I recommend checking with the specific college the student is interested in. DD got a great scholarship from her college, and the only requirement was keeping a good GPA, and writing the family to thank them every year. A very small price to pay for a generous scholarship. She didn't mind at all, and I was glad we'd taught our kids to write thank-you notes at a young age.

Later today, I have my 2nd therapy appointment. Last week, before I left, she told me to decide what my goal for seeing her is. I've never been asked this before. I haven't come up with an answer.
Any suggestions?
I appreciate your thoughts and input.

For college financial aid, fill out the FAFSA early.
Start researching scholarships ASAP some require extensive volunteer experience or membership.

Any suggestions? I appreciate your thoughts and input. I don't have any great ideas, just some random thoughts: Do you want to feel better about life? Are you reaching for some specific goal? Do you have some bad life experiences you want to talk about? Are you dealing with difficult people that you want better tools to help in dealing with them? Again, just some random thoughts. You don't need to share with us here. Best wishes, and I hope this new therapist is a good one!

That's why I don't know how to answer the question. I feel like cancelling it, so I don't have to deal with it. But it took so many months to get an appointment. Ugh.

Good Morning Kids! I've already been to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for DS. It's cloudy out, and the air is still not great to breathe in.
DD will be over for dinner, which means she'll be making something to contribute to the meal. Nice that I don't have to "do it all" when she comes over.
Trying to reach DS's social worker takes a lot longer than it used to. I'll blame it all on Covid. So many places have NOT gotten back to normal.

We shouldn't be back to normal because Covid is still here. Thus my insistence at every doctor's appointment that all medical people who deal with me must be masked. I will walk out if they refuse to mask.
We have smoky air too. I was out bright and early to pick up a prescription, too. I was shocked when the co-pay was $1.49.
I was going to pick it up yesterday on my way homes, but things had become to tense that I spaced it.

I'm not finding fault with you about it. I just wonder if it's ever going to go away completely. Or if it will be like the flu and other ailments. I'm sure there have been people who have masked in public for their own reasons. Michael Jackson, comes to mind. I'm glad you have found health care etc that go along with your wishes. While there are still signs posted, saying masks are required at my doctor's office, no one actually wears them. Although my doctor did ask if I preferred that she did. I hope you are doing well.

I believe I will be wearing a mask for the rest of my life. Wastewater in this state shows there is a lot of Covid and no one is even talking about it.
Both my sister and her husband have had Covid this summer.
Masks are not required anywhere in this state by decree of the governor. I think if the numbers explode, hospitals and medical office can require it, just like visitors are not allowed in hospitals when flu and pneumonia get bad in the community.
The independent living community where my dad lived constant has covid. They do not require masks but for those who test positive, they have to isolate in their room for a week.

I just read this week that Covid cases are up again, although it hasn't made the national news (at least, not yet). Hospital intakes are supposedly up. New variant, so I was telling DH he'd better get his vaccination taken care of (he's one behind, but has been working so many hours that I hardly see him). DS & I need to ask when we can get our next vaccinations. I suspect once school starts that maybe there will be enough cases to make the news, but who knows? School doesn't begin here until after Labor Day.

I know I've had 3 vaccinations for it. How many do I need, to be current? I guess I can Google it, to find out.

I have had 6 shots in total. I know I have not had 6! Can you just have them any time you want, now? Within reason?
