I have my first Therapy appointment this morning. I really don't want to. I don't feel like I have anything to say. I've never seen the therapist before and don't know anything about them. Plus their billing dept still has not put through my refund, so I'm mad about that. And they won't return my phone calls. I just don't feel like meeting someone new today, or spilling my guts. So I hope she's really good and we don't spend an hour just staring at each other. I'd rather say nothing, than make small talk. Ugh. I need to get ready.

It will be fine and you won't spend an hour staring at each other. That is not how therapists work.

Thanks, everyone.
I survived. It was just intake, so not really a big deal. But then, at the very end, after I've answered a lot of very personal and traumatic questions, she told me, she won't be my therapist, because she's going to be leaving. Ugh.
She referred me to a psychiatrist and got me set up to come back for therapy once a week.
It's funny/ironic?. I think she was more traumatized hearing the answers I gave today, than I was giving them.
I don't enjoy meeting new people/drs/therapists. But it will be fine, I'm sure.

Hang in there toomuchreality! While it's annoying that she made an appointment with you when she knew she was leaving, hopefully she'll guide you to someone good.
We're under a severe thunderstorm warning, with hail that could be as big as ping pong ball-sized. We've had to replace the shingles twice on this house twice, and I'm praying we won't have to do it again.

We're under a severe thunderstorm warning, with hail that could be as big as ping pong ball-sized. We've had to replace the shingles twice on this house twice, and I'm praying we won't have to do it again. She went with me to the front desk, to give them instructions about scheduling me and they kept saying they were putting me back in the queue, since she wasn't going to see me. I've already waited 7 months, to get an appt! She kept telling them, NO! Her intake is complete. Do NOT put her back in the queue! I bet she said that 8 times, at least. 🙄 I seriously wonder about their training (lack of?). The receptionist claimed that no one was available to see me, for several months. Then they magically came up with an appointment available next Friday. When I couldn't come on Friday, I got to choose from 3 different times, Wednesday afternoon! AND she scheduled me, for that same time, every Wed for 3 weeks. Saying, they'll continue to add a week, every week, when I come in. That's good for me, I guess. But it's really hard to understand/believe what they say. I still don't get a refund of my overpayment. Because "they're holding it". Seems like theft, to me. Why do they get to choose what I do with my money? But I'm hoping for the best. We've had a LOT of severe thunderstorms, this month. Yesterday around 4pm one hit, while I was in Walmart, with my brother. It was SO loud, because it was coming down so hard! It was scary. I hope yours doesn't cause any damage this time, busymom. Stay inside, where it's safe. The weather this year is crazy! Hard to plan around and causing damage to crops, bldgs, mountainsides, roads. Everything. Maybe it's time for me, to get some religion? IDK. 😉

I've started a round of dr. appts this week. I had fasting labs on Monday, saw the chiropractor on Wednesday, and the internist today. He was pleased with my labs and did some additional labs today to see if I was anemic. He also prescribed something to try for restless legs. I'm always so dead tired but have troubles sleeping, in part because of restless legs. The labs for anemia seem to all be coming back within normal ranges. Next week I get my eyes checked on Tuesday and have a mammogram on Wednesday.
I hate going to the eye doctor. Some people have a phobia of the dentist mine is of the eye doctor. This is a new clinic so I have to get them trained on what needs to happen to get me through the appt and make sure no one gets kicked. It is just a reflex to kick when they come in head on towards my eyes, especially with that thing that measures the eye pressure. This has also been a taxing week because Tuesday would have been my Dad's 83rd birthday.

And a fun Friday to my fine unfettered peeps! ('cause it's too danged hot to be fettered, right?) Very glad the week is over and I am with you. I finally got my injection this past Tuesday. It is to treat inflammation in my sacroiliac joint. I did not even know where that was. I do now. Turns out I do have a wavy spine, due to childhood curvature. The wave is not curable, but the inflammation is treatable. I feel 100% better with this injection, which is a steroid. I have done housework, yard work, run, swam, biked and kick boxed - no issues at all. And I can sleep through the night.

Good Evening Kids! It's been a full day, starting with another eye appointment this morning. Don't worry, it's not a regarding a problem. I haven't worn contact lenses in years, and decided I need to start wearing them again, especially for special occasions (a recent image of me wearing glasses made me look very much like some relatives from my parent's generation).
We got heavy rain here this afternoon/evening, but we didn't have any damage here. Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky. This year has been hard on the trees.
TheOtherMe, I hope all is well in your neighborhood. Quite a large area of your state was under a watch earlier today. Check in when you can.

[br I'm so happy, you got some relief! That's great news. I get a steriod injection in my shoulder. Sometimes every 3 months. This last time, it was 5 months. It helps me a LOT. I hope yours does too. ♡

Heavy rain, wind, thunder and lightning. We didn't get tornadoes here so we did get lucky. We got 2.5 inches of rain in about an hour. I do seem some downed limbs around me. No water in my basement, so I am happy.

Thanks, gang. So far, so good. I am hoping for a shot maybe twice a year (doc says some people go years between injections, but I don't feel that lucky).
I did swim this morning, then a stop at Walmart and Ace, and now home. I felt weed-guilty looking at the yard, so I did about 1/2 hour out there. It was all I could do. I found a new product at the grocery store: orange chicken sauce. So I am thawing chicken, and using up a head of broccoli and making rice to go with it for dinner.

Good Morning Kids! TheOtherMe, I'm glad you didn't suffer any major damage.
I've had a humbling morning, and TheOtherMe, I'm sure you've had moments too while researching your family history. I was looking up the date of death on my mother (my brain has shut down on the date of death on all of my close family members), and a document popped up on the screen showing the official notice of my Grandma's stillborn first baby. I knew about her loss. But there's something about seeing the document that hits you in the heartstrings, especially when you see the word "stillborn" written on paper.

My grandma had a stillborn boy. She told me so many times about him. I was told by a cousin of my dad's that the baby was buried in the plot where my grandparents are. He is listed on the headstone as "Unnamed". I truly hope that's where it is.
Grandma mourned that baby until she took her last breath. I am glad he is acknowledged on the headstone.

I pretty much slept through yesterday. The doctor gave me a new prescription for restless legs and I took the first dose Friday evening. It made me very nauseous but I was able to go right to sleep. I basically slept 18 hours waking up a few times to throw up. Then once I did get up I just sat and dozed in my recliner while watching TV. I'm not sure if I slept so long because I was in such desperate need of sleep or because the medication just knocked me out. I was afraid to take the dose last night. I do feel better for sleeping so much and knew that I was overly tired bordering on exhaustion. I didn't feel up to eating until yesterday evening, my stomach still felt queasy. I will e-mail the doctor and see what he says.

I did put in a decently long five mile run this morning, which felt good. I had to start before sunrise, or there was no way I would finish.
I have potatoes and gravy for dinner. We are heading to Costco, where I hope to find turkey meatballs. They've been impossible to find anywhere else.

Costco was not too bad today, but I suspect it's too hot to shop. Next weekend will be bonkers, since it is right before school starts. I will make an attempt to mow the backyard later. When it's a smidge cooler. I found chicken meatballs at Costco, so mashed potatoes, meatballs, gravy and salad it is.

I get an A+ today for cooking. The past several months I've been in a funk and just haven't felt like doing any of my normal things which includes cooking. Then I start the spiral down into the worse my diet the worse I feel. After all my sleep yesterday I was feeling pretty good today and I actually made a breakfast, lunch, and dinner that didn't consist of just grabbing some junk or crackers our of the pantry.
Dinner was the best of all. I baked some sweet potato chunks, some broccoli chunks, and some salmon. It is a one pan dinner but tastes so good. Even better it makes enough for two meals. My neighbor dropped off some more produce for me today which included a huge cantaloupe. I had some cantaloupe with my dinner also.

I just got back from a nice walk. The air quality is decent, and the temps are mild. My only complaint is I got attacked by gnats while on my way back home, but it was still good to be outside.
I made meatloaves for dinner. One to eat tonight, and one to freeze for a night when I need a quick dinner. But your salmon sounds good, Sharon.

I just got a call from my doctor's office. The heart monitor I wore for 24 hours, thinking it had been no help, recorded 44 episodes of A-FIB during that time! 😳 YIKES.
