Peeps! Soooooo glad it is Saturday! Right after swim practice, I got the hedges trimmed and cleaned up before the sun hit that side of the house. I know I won't be sorry about that later. Ran a load of laundry that included a small rug and towels. Got to the bank and Walgreens - I had extra care bucks to spend, so got some grocery items (with a bag of on-sale chocolate, to reward myself for surviving the week )

Dinner is burger and fries for DH -- I eat mine with a salad, no bread or fries.

Good Afternoon Kids!  We can hear thunder rumblings here, but although it's dark & gloomy, radar shows the storm is going to go just north of here.  We'll see, as radar has been wrong before...


There's a baby shower to attend tomorrow, so I'm getting the gift ready today.  I haven't been to one in years.  Shopping for baby clothes has been a lot of fun.

We've got the thunder rumbles here too, but no rain. Fortunately, the cloudy weather made it possible to head out for some yard work.

Welp, the weathernerds blew it again.  We had quite a storm here, but fortunately no hail.  So, my vegetable garden survived, and apparently no damage.  We do need the rain, but I was thankful I wasn't out driving in it.

I spent two hours washing, waxing and detailing my car; that was my workout today. She looks pretty out there, though.

Fixed blueberry pancakes, cleaned the bathrooms and started laundry. Dinner is cauliflower crust pizza tonight.

They are crop dusting nearby and I keep expecting a plane to lane on my roof, they fly so low.  They seem to be circling over my house on the way back to the field.

I finally listened to my body and went back bed this morning and slept for another 5 hours.  I feel so much better.

Hi Kids!  It's been a long day, and I'm exhausted, but it was good.  The mom-to-be got a lot of very nice gifts, and no two the same.  I ate too many sweets at the celebration, so I want to eat anything but sugar tonight.

Today is a holiday in UT. Complete with a televised, big parade this morning, followed by various events throughout the day and fireworks and a drone show this evening.
There have been big/long firework shows the last two nights at the ballpark down the street from where I live. And another one (I don't know where, but close enough to hear) at 1AM, both nights. Someone has been letting off private fireworks all night.
I'll be glad when it's over.

It's going to be hot today/this week. Over 100°F.

Good Morning Kids!  It's going to get hot, hot, hot this week, so I'm up early to try & get any errands done early in the day.  (I'm not up early because I want to be.  Insomnia is kicking my butt lately, and I can only guess that the increasing heat is part of the problem...)

Insomnia is getting me too. I didn't sleep at all the last two nights. Although I did take a long nap yesterday. That probably has something to do with why I didn't sleep last night. I need to get some groceries today. As usual, I've been putting it off. 🙄

I'm sorry to hear that so many others here are suffering with insomnia too.


I did get to the grocery store, and I also bought dog food.  A lot of it.  For some reason, I'm concerned about the looming UPS strike, and am wondering how badly the supply chain could be affected.

I rarely get deliveries, these days. The few things I do order, I usually have DD2 order for me, because she has Amazon prime. Then I pay her.

She gets a LOT of deliveries, every day.

This has been a Monday.  The guys finished my stump grinding but in doing so ground out the main cord that controls the sprinkler system.  They have also through the course of their work broken multiple sprinkler heads.  The owner did fix one of the sprinkler heads today.  I had already paid him and he had left when I discovered that the sprinkler system was non-functional.

I've been trying to sell my little RV and there is an issue on whether it is a 2019 or a 2020.  The manufacturer changed the VIN shortly after I purchased it.  I'm pretty sure it is a 2020 and the VIN decoder says it is a 2020 but the title and registration say it is a 2019.  The paperwork from the manufacturer says it is a 2019 with a 2020 VIN.

There were other hiccups along the way today but the final insult was when I was warming up my dinner in the microwave and it exploded and coated the inside.

I'm headed to bed.

UGH. I HATE days like that.
I'm surprised they aren't more careful, when they take down and grind trees/stumps. It's not like that's an unusual job for them. Is it?
I'm sorry. I hope they come back and fix it all.

Good Afternoon Kids!   I'm waiting for the guy to arrive to take down my old blinds, and install the new ones. The new ones are cordless, which will be nice if any little ones come to visit.   And, they're the light-blocking type, which is wonderful to have when you suffer from migraines.

Sharon, you've gotten my attention.  DH & I have discussed getting an RV, but we only want a little one.  What model did you end up getting, and what did you love & hate about it?  It would make more sense to own an RV when we'd be stuck traveling with the dogs, rather than dumping the responsibility for them on DD.

So I have been spending like a drunk sailor. 

Propane tank inspection and servicing --- check

New insurance for house -- switching companies --- check

Plumber on standby for fixes including a new water heater --- check

Plus all the things I did not need to have due to having a condo....There are so many things in my Amazon wishlist right now.

All services except for garbage have been notified.

Still need to contact several other places/vendors and get appliances but holding off until after I sign the paperwork which will be Friday per title company.

I have a smaller RV, it is 17ft and it doesn't have a slide out.  There is a double bed in front, a small table on one side and then bunk beds behind the table.  It does have a bathroom with shower.  For the kitchen it has a good sized fridge and freezer, a microwave, and a two burner stove top.  There isn't an oven.

What I love most about an RV is having my own bathroom.  Even when traveling I would pull into a rest area but use my own bathroom.  It was also nice to be able to pull over and make lunch and take a break when on the road.  Since so many cars now have backup cameras they are so much easier to hook up.  

I mostly felt that I don't use it enough and I find the hitch to be really heavy to lift and get situated.  Part of that is when I got my first RV when DD was in about 4th grade my Dad made sure I got a really good beefy hitch that could adjusted to whatever car I might be using as a tow vehicle.

It was a godsend when I was in the process of moving.  It just stayed at DD's place and then I had my own bed and my own space away from the family when I came into town almost every weekend for all those months.  It is also nice to have so much pre-packed and ready to go.  All the towels, dishes, pots and pans etc just stay there along with certain food staples.  I also kept PJ's, bathrobe, and slippers in there.

Very nice Sharon!  If we had something to tow it with I'd seriously consider buying it.  I suppose the proper term of what we're looking for is a motorhome, but we want a nice smaller one, so it takes less gas & is easier to park. I like some that look like vans, but they seem to be higher priced than a big motorhome.   

Maybe since DH is going to have to replace his vehicle within the next couple of years he should buy another pick-up truck.  The last one he owned he babied, and got 22 years out of it.  At least it could tow stuff.

I took Speedy in to get his nails trimmed, and he was fighting so hard I asked the girl if she'd like some help. She agreed I could at least distract him (he already had a muzzle on, but he hates having his feet touched, and was fighting like the devil). Between the 2 of us she managed to get the job done, but before she could Dremel his nails to smooth them, he scratched up my arm so badly trying to get away that I was bleeding. I look like I've been attacked by a cat.
