My 2 story house in Boulder had the laundry on the 2nd floor, so that worked.

My house in Fort Collins was a tri-level.  It would have been very handy to have a laundry chute.  There was a bathroom right above the laundry room.  Probably one of the things I should have had done when I lived there.

Love our laundry chute too! But use it rarely now since we mostly use the new first floor laundry.

Peeps! I made it home just in time from the meet. Stopped at WalMart (where I rescued a turtle in the parking lot), got into the driveway, emptied my car and the deluge is here. Dang, this is a big serious kinda storm. Lots of rumbling, rolling, wind and rain

I plan on going to DD2s to hang out with her girls this afternoon. The girls asked me to sleep over last Friday night. But I didn't have clean clothes, or pjs and I was tired, so I came home. Her youngest asked if I could come back, when they woke up, in the morning. It was really sweet. I hope they're happy to see me, today.
I'm picking up someone from my Buy Nothing group on the way home. I have a fan in my rafters I'm going to give them. They don't have a car. And no A/C, so I hate for them to have to walk a mile in the heat, each way, to get a fan. They will climb the ladder and get the fan down.

Mom went home bright and early this morning.  Her flight left at 6am.  I'm very tired today, it was a struggle to get through work but I made it.  After work I sat down in the recliner and got about an hour nap in before DD showed up.  We then did some work with the cows.  The kids were tired and it showed.  We had a round of ice cream sandwiches and they all went home.  I was glad for the peace and quiet.

Good Evening Kids!  It was a full day for a Monday.  I found a tote box full of paperwork belonging to my relative.  I've been going through it, trying to figure out what I might possibly need in the future, and shredding the rest.  In a perfect world, I'd like to condense all of his paperwork down to one individual tote box.  I'll keep working on it tomorrow.

I was taking a break & looking at houses just for fun (ones where the basement is already finished) and found a near-perfect house not terribly far from where I live now.  Basement is done, it's got 3 bathrooms, and it's even got some things I've always wanted, like a screen porch. Very tempting, but the house is priced too high.  I'm seriously considering paring down the stuff we have in this house, and just plain going house shopping, but not until next year.  I suspect house prices are going to continue to drop, and even though that means I wouldn't get as much for the house we're in now, it'd be nice to get a house that doesn't need a bunch of remodeling work done.  We'll see...

Good Evening Kids!  It was another long day here.  I'd just rescheduled an appointment earlier in the day, and then I got a call that my new blinds had shipped out early, and would probably be arriving the same day as my appointment.  I'm not going to let $1,000 worth of merchandise sit on my front porch unguarded, so I called & reschedule that appointment for a 3rd time.  I'm pleasantly surprised that my blinds were done early.  I certainly hope everything is ok with them.  Oh well, the company has to "eat" them if they're wrong, because their own personnel came out to do the measurements before the order was placed.  

We might be getting some storms tomorrow.  I'd prefer the rain, without any storm.

Ugh. We are currently getting a severe thunderstorm warning in my area. I really hope my power doesn't go out.

DD1 and her wife went to Croatia yesterday. Nope. I'm not watching their dogs while they're gone. (Yay, me!) My brother is staying there and taking care of them.

I'm going to go over and have lunch with him tomorrow. I'm making tuna casserole. It's one of his favorites. Shoot! I just realized I don't have any frozen peas to put in it. Dang it!

I'll have to get some in the morning. I just washed my car, or I'd go this evening.

We got a heavy rainstorm this evening.  It's done now, and the sun is actually shining.  We can't complain because there was no hail or anything bad.  And we're still technically in a drought, so rain is welcome here.

Well, even after receiving several severe thunderstorm warnings, with updated time frames etc, I haven't seen any (zero) rain, lightning, or heard even one small clap of thunder.
It does smell like rain. But that's it.
Even when cars drive by, It doesn't sound like the road is wet. Weird.

Since I decided not to go out this evening, I wish it actually would rain. We can use the water here too. And I'd rather it happen tonight, rather than tomorrow, so my car stays clean. And I'm going out in the weather/driving tomorrow, for sure.

I guess, I'll take my trash out, check my mail and do some laundry. Gosh, it's so exciting here! 😉 Perhaps I'll vacuum and change my sheets too? We'll see.

Things are moving fast around here.  I called a tree service yesterday and they actually answered the phone.  They are working on a job almost directly behind my place on the next street over so he stopped by today.  They are going to take out 3 trees and grind the stumps and then grind this huge stump that was turned into a raised flower bed.  This will really simplify my mowing.

The tree guy also really like my trailer and was going to talk with his wife about purchasing it.  I would be happy to have that gone.  My bank account would be happy also.   Anyway since they said they were so close and all the equipment is here they are going to do my job next, possibly starting tomorrow afternoon.

DD came over today and I helped her move all the big cement blocks that they used to make the raised bed.  Then we got into the pool for a while.  It was over 90 degrees today and DD and I were dripping wet after moving all those blocks.  Then we had another round of ice cream sandwiches/popsicles and they went home.

The furnace guy is also coming tomorrow I noticed my flooring was buckling right by the door to the furnace closet.  I could feel some moisture when I opened the door.

Hi y'all, 

Got to inspection done on the new place Monday. Still excited about the place, but I have not packed anything at all. Just warm and I won't be moving for a few months. Things will be bonkers for a bit, once I am situated, I am sure that I will be very happy. 

Still on track to close by the end of the month and I should have the keys Aug 1. 

I have tea and am going to hide inside with Dead Files on the TV.

Congrats snapdragon!  So how close did you end up getting to the ocean?  Inquiring minds want to know.  


It cooled off a lot here after all of the much-needed rain we got yesterday.  I did errands today, and picked up some potato salad from Target.  It tastes surprisingly close to the type my Mom used to make, except Target used sweet relish, while Mom used to cut up dill pickles in her version.  Yum!

I'm glad you're still excited about your new place.
Sorry for my confusion... Did you get your additional inspection done on Monday, or is it scheduled for this coming Monday?
Is all the info matching up? I hope so.

This was the second doctor's appointment about the abscess.  I'm on the 3rd day of a 5 days antibiotic regimen.  I already took it for 10 days but it needed a bit more help.

Happy Friday Muffins!!!

I am so glad it is Friday. It has been a long painful week. Monday morning when I was walking up the stairs something popped in the back of my left knee and I have been hobbling around all week in agony. It has gotten a little better but I am looking forward to being able to keep my knee elevated and iced all weekend. Getting old sux! UGH!

I hope you are all keeping cool. We have had a mix of 80s and 90s still so not as bad as some of you.

Hope your knee feels better soon, Icelandic Woman!   I did something to my knee earlier this year, and it was about a month before I was able to start up exercising again.

It's Friday, so I'm watching my DGDs today. Their dad asked if I would stay and watch them this evening, while they go to a movie. I was fine with that.
DD2 put the youngest down for a nap, then they left to go complete the paperwork for the Cadillac Escalade they bought for her, last night. (It's fabulous! But really big.) DGD woke up before she was ready, while they are gone and has been a screaming maniac! Sometimes I can calm her down and things are okay. But Not today. She needs to go back to sleep. I told DD2 we might have to change the plans for this evening, depending on how things go. I don't mind staying, but not if that's still going on. Holy moly!
Things will be fine, after DGD gets some more sleep. 🤞😊
I brought them new coloring books and a paint with water book, they can do. And they can swim in the hot tub later. They love doing that!

DD2 and her husband decided not to go to the movie after all, so I am home.

When DGD2 woke up, she was in a MUCH better mood and was even telling me, "I want you." when I was getting ready to go home.
