Good Afternoon Kids! DS has an appointment at the dentist, so I need to get moving. This has been the LONGEST week, with everything on the calendar, and it's only Wednesday.
Holy moly! That's a full month of income for me. I hope I don't reach that point. I couldn't do it.
If you need cheaper glasses, I highly recommend buying online. The quality might not be quite as good, but you'll save a lot of money. What they want for bifocals now is practically robbery. Sharon, you check online sites too. I don't even like paying the copay on my glasses, and that's around $200-$300. But, I kinda need to see, especially when driving.
Both of my daughters have purchased glasses online, so they have the latest styles and colors. Me, I'll wear mine forever, or until my prescription changes. My daughters bought my last 2 pair. One for reading and one for driving, because they didn't like the ones I had. 🤣

I hope the dentist visit goes well. I'm trying to motivate myself to shower and go get some groceries. I need to, but I don't want to. 🙄 😁

I showered and had plans to go for groceries! The bottom just fell out so I don’t want to risk melting from rain so sat down and will just wait till tomorrow! I should know to do stuff in ther mornings since we have rain every afternoon this time of year.

I was thinking I'll wait and go tomorrow too, because it's just too hot outside (near 100°). But tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter and I'm definitely not a morning person. So I think I'll shower now and go early this evening, depending on how I feel after my shower. I don't think I'll be more motivated tomorrow.
Well my weekend just got turned on its head. DD found out this afternoon that the church would baptize her two youngest kids this Sunday, nothing like short notice. I will be doing what I can to help her out as she will be serving a luncheon afterwards. I also arranged for Mom to fly over and spend the weekend at my place. She will arrive Friday morning and fly back on Monday morning. My sister will pick her up Thursday evening after work and drop her off at a hotel by the airport. She will then take the little puddle jumper plan to a city near me. I believe it holds 8 passengers.
In the past my vision insurance has paid pretty well. The issue now is that places over here won't bill my insurance. Friday I will need to pay for the exam out of pocket and then bill my insurance myself and wait to get reimbursed by the insurance. I would be afraid to order glasses online. I currently have a pair of bi-focals but I only wear them when doing fine hand sewing. They are supposed to be worn for working on the computer and reading. It takes me a long time usually to find frames because I don't want glasses touching my face, so many of them will touch my cheeks and that would drive me crazy.

Well, I took a shower. That's a step in the right direction! LOL. 😁 I tell you, I can procrastinate with the best of them!

Do the cheap glasses places online, even make bifocals and trifocals? I always assumed they just made single vision lenses. And that's how they were able operate so inexpensively.

My eye doctor told me they do and then people come in to get them "adjusted". Because the lines are not in the correct places, they can't "adjust" them.

Oooh. That makes sense. But it would totally suck. I agree, it's not an option for your trifocals. And I'm not sure I would order bifocals online, either. Heck, I wouldn't order my single vision online. I need to see them on my face, in real life, before I order glasses. I have tried on a million pairs, but very few look good on me.

I always have a difficult time finding frames I like, too. I'm an in person person when it comes to glasses.

Good Afternoon Kids! It's been busy here the last few days. DS has a couple of teeth that need to be watched, but overall had a good experience at the dentist.
I'm wasting time today, as I got a call from the contractor that was supposed to be coming around lunchtime. His vehicle broke down, and now he won't be here until around 3. Bummer, as I'd hoped to get to the grocery store after his visit. Oh well...
Yesterday was interesting. USPS dropped off a package from a well-known company that makes really good moisturizers for "women over 40". The problem is, the package wasn't meant for me. I looked at the address, which was wrong for our street, and the name, and went online to try to track down the rightful owner, then I dropped it off with her husband, as it was only about a block away from me. Judging by the weight of the package, there was probably at least $300 worth of product. It's a good thing I try to be honest. I've actually used one of their products in the past, and it was pretty good. But then, the owner would've missed her package, so I got it to her. And yes, I'm sure I found the right address. It's a bit shocking how easy it is to get information on other people online. I actually found a picture of her with her husband, that's how I knew I handed it to the right guy.

Good for you for getting the package to it's rightful owner.
Yes, you can find out way too much about people online.
I once ordered an air mattress to sleep on at my parents house. The town's street names are weird. 2nd Ave SW, 2nd Ave NE, 2nd Ave NW, 2nd Ave SE, etc.
It went to the wrong direction and the man dropped it off at my parents. Slept on that thing for years as did my family members. It was so much better than the pull out couch.
I moved it here but have had so few overnight guests and it had a leak in it, so I got rid of it.

I have news!
I put in a offer Monday, countering happened, I have a new home! Closing is at the end of the month. Some things need to be done so not moving in immediately. Thinking much closer to mid, late September, October. Closing so fast due to paying cash. Really miss Dad and K, but I am sure they would really like where I am going to.
Today title paperwork and earnest money started the process.
House is in a beach town on a canal, so I have a waterview and a dock.

I'm so happy for you! Congrats! I didn't realize you were considering moving, or looking at houses. Although that could be because I get people and their situations confused. That's great news. I hope things go well for you.

Good Morning Kids! Well, the contractor did stop by yesterday afternoon, and we've begun the process of at least looking into adding a bathroom. Two pieces of bad news so far: First, installing a bathroom into an unfinished basement is going to cost me more than my last car, even if I take the cheapest option. Secondly, since the laundry chute from the upstairs is in line with where the toilet has to be put in, based on the rough plumbing done by the homebuilder, I'm going to lose my laundry chute. (Or, have to figure out if there's another place we can install the chute. Not happy about that. The last house I lived in we had to carry the dirty laundry downstairs, and I'm not looking forward to having to deal with that again. Especially as we age.

Always put down toilet seat! Sorry but I would have opted for this rather than give up my laundry chute in our only two story house with laundry room on bottom floor. People laughed at me and my laundry chute.

Seriously, in the house DD purchased, the laundry chute is right over the toilet that the previous homeowner installed in the basement. I've decided that either home designers, or the guys who alter the original design are a$$holes on purpose.
Yesterday was a very long day. Mom's flight was delayed by many hours due to mechanical problems so they decided to drive them over in a van. Then DD wanted to drop of the 3 oldest kids to hang out while she worked on getting her house in order. In the middle of all of this I was supposed to be working. Mom was worn out by the time she finally got here and then having the kids here added to it. Actually once we put the 2 yr old down for a nap that cut out about 90% of the noise and chaos.
Today I cleaned a bunch of fruit for the party, and made coleslaw. After all that I mowed the lawn. It is very hot so I finally took a shower and laid down on the bed a bit to cool of. Mom is sleeping in the chair in the family room.
What was supposed to be a luncheon after the baptism got moved to tonight because of DSIL's family and all their drama. Mom and I will go over there for dinner late afternoon today.

Day 1 of the meet done. We had a 90 minute lightning delay - no rain, just storms close enough to set off the pool alarm system. Fortunately, there were plenty of air-conditioned rooms to lounge in while we waited. We certainly needed all our fluids today.
I baked shrimp for both of us and I had mine with a salad. DH got some onion rings as a treat. Tomorrow is pizza night. I have the cauliflower crusts and finally found some lactose-free mozzarella.

We had a laundry chute in the house I grew up in (my dad built it). I don't know why more people didn't/don't build them into houses where the laundry is on a lower level. I guess, because it's just one more thing to do. But they sure are convenient.
