I finally slept (although not well), for a few hours. Just before noon, I finally gave up.

I kept dreaming about arguing with my new neighbor, which really did happen last night, around 10:30pm. The guy doesn't listen. I woke up feeling frustrated.

I need to bring the sodas in from my car, take my garbage out and check mail. It's going to be a good day!

Dang it is hot out there. Finished filling up the weed bucket and brought the recycle bin up front. Thought we'd get rain this afternoon but nope. If it stays dry through tomorrow, I will have to mow the front lawn.

Riding mower? I've never been on one of those. The yards around here are too small to use a riding mower. Even if you have a big yard. I've never even known anyone who had one.

I hope it's cooler, when you cut your lawn.

Well I was without internet for almost 24 hours starting yesterday at 4 PM. It's been a weird weekend and I just have been a lazy potato. 

Ended up making coffee and will soon transition to tea.

I got home around noon today and then mowed the lawn.  I have a rider mower and the rider part of mowing the lawn takes me about two hours, then I need to go around afterwards with my walking mower and get in some corners and around some trees where the rider can't go.

It was a long weekend at Mom's but between my sister, Mom, and myself we got her planters on the deck planted.  It should not have taken 5 hours for three of us to do this but you just have to deal with Mom on her level.

Good Morning Kids!  (Sorta)  It must be Monday because I didn't sleep well last night.  Annnnnnnnnd, we're supposed to be in the 90's for most of the week, with no rain in the forecast until next weekend.  So, watering the garden, and fighting to keep our yellow lawn alive are on the priority list.

I didn't sleep well either. And just as I was drifting off this morning, they started mowing the lawn. Ugh. I don't think they should start that before 8AM. Especially when "Quiet hours" according to my lease, are from 10PM-10AM.

And people wonder why I'm so tired all day. 😳

I did sleep fairly well last night.  It's going to be hot today.  I wish they would come and get my garbage so I can get the bin back in to the garage.

Good Morning Kids!  It's supposed to be another hot day, most likely in the 90's.  We're putting our garbage by the curb, but since yesterday was a holiday, it may not get picked up until tomorrow.


DS has an appointment late this morning, then we'll probably hunker down due to the heat.

Sunday night the insomnia bug bit me also, but last night was much better.  Today is cool, cloudy and gray but we should start warming up by the weekend.  Yesterday I went drove back up to the nearest big city that has better shopping selections and returned the drapes I brought last week, they weren't light blocking at all.  I also bought another set of sheets and then found some baskets in the size and style I had been looking for to use for my CD's.

Monday I had the 3 oldest grandkids for about an hour while DD when to PT.  I mentioned about having a garage sale in a couple of weeks and DGD1 wanted to know how I would take the garage off the house so I could sell it.  I explained that it just meant that we would put tables in the garage and sell things to people that would come to the house.

I finally slept! I haven't taken any of my meds that help me stay awake today, for fear they will keep me awake tonight.

The temperature/weather today was really nice. We had a high of 71°F with sunny skies.

When I was visiting Mom I stopped at one of my favorite specialty meat shops and among other things bought some of there good chipped beef.  Tonights dinner was chipped beef on toast.  I usually only buy enough to make two meals of it, so maybe 4 meals in total for the year.  It is a treat for me.

Good Morning Kids!  Welcome to the Longest Day of the Year!      (I'm thinking of Sugi now, as she enjoyed this time of the year too...)


It's gonna be a "hot time in the old town tonight".  We're expecting 90's once again for the temp.  My poor front lawn, especially down by the street, looks like a hayfield.  We've been watering, but the heat is just too much for our lawn.


You'll get a laugh out of this:  I know where all of that money for the orthodontist is going.  When we walked in for DS's appointment yesterday, I noticed they've got a new massage chair in their waiting room, and I just HAD to try it out.  Too bad they actually got DS in earlier than usual.  After 5 minutes on that thing, my back felt SO much better.

It is already 82 degrees, headed toward 90.   My lawn looks horrible, but I am not watering it.  The weeds are barely growing.

The weeds are growing much faster than our stunted grass.  We need rain here, badly.  I can only imagine what type of stress the farmers are dealing with.  No rain equals no crops...

Depending on how quickly climate change continues, Utah could become one of the new desired destinations for people to live soon. The temps have been much less extreme in the recent years.

Farmers do have various types of insurance but it doesn't make them whole.  Everything looks really stunted in the fields I see.

    Ugh!  That'll give the middlemen the excuse to keep food prices high.

While farmers hurt more than the middleman or us.  Some small farmers will have to sell if it keeps this dry.

DD came over for dinner tonight, so we let her "mind the fort" while DH & I took a walk.  I just love it that it's light until almost 9:30.  It'll only be like this for a few more weeks, then the days will begin to get noticeably shorter.

Good Morning Kids!  Took me awhile to fall asleep again last night.  Don't know whether to blame the heat, or something else.  They keep extending the poor air quality warning, so we're really not supposed to be doing much outside, but I do need to water the garden, and every other day, the lawn (our community limits when you can water your grass).  I sincerely hope this isn't going to be going on all Summer.  It's supposed to hit 90 degrees once again.  


In positive news, we already got the information back from DS's scan yesterday, and they're reporting no change, which is great to hear.

busymom great news on your DS's scan.  Sending good thoughts that the heat and humidity in your area also doesn't cause him issues.

We are going to be 90+ for the foreseeable future.  At least the next two weeks will be short work weeks for me.  Next Friday and Saturday DD and I are going to have a garage sale.  We have already decided we will open early and close early.
