Our much welcome cooler and rainy start of summer looks like is coming to an end by Monday. Into the 80s and no rain. It was great while it lasted.

Good Morning Kids!  I hope any of you who live in the South got through those nasty storms yesterday.  It looks like more are coming today.  I'm going to need to check in with my old neighbors, to see if they're ok.


It is very cool today.  The weatherman is blaming the smoke in the air for it not being warmer here.  I'm staying home today, to avoid the bad air.  It all works out in the end anyway, since DS has a package that's supposed to arrive.

Hi there!
I ended up spending 2 nites at DD2's. Both girls slept downstairs with me, both nites and they both slept all nite, which was a win for everyone. However, their dogs, although still young, are way too big/strong for me to handle when they're excited. I was glad the 5yr old was there to help me.
I helped get their laundry caught up and a few things, then I came home and slept.
I woke up today with a headache and my head is swimming. I hope I feel better in the morning, when I need to go back.

toomuchreality have a good nights sleep and feel better in the morning.

Today was a nightmare.  I spilled my cereal everywhere this morning, luckily I didn't end up with milk in the keyboard.  When I finally got logged on this one guy was waiting because there was an issue and he has zero clue has to fix anything.  I ended up taking care of that issue.  Another lady and I have been fighting testing a process for the past couple of days.  This morning I kicked it off yet again forgetting that today was maintenance day so they rebooted the server right in the middle of the process.  The cat took a on the bed so laundry to do.

Tonight is my Thursday to watch the critical process that runs in the evening.  Fingers crossed all goes well.

It doesn't happen very often, maybe twice a year.  It also didn't start until about the time she turned 15 years old.  I just figure some day I will be really old and probably poop in the wrong place too.

Maddow got his collar off yesterday.  So I ordered several types of collars for him.  Problem is DN3 leaves on his honeymoon tomorrow so I probably can't get the sensor on correctly.

I got up at a quarter to 6 this morning.  It's crazy how tired I am, as I'd gotten up earlier than that for years when I was working for pay.  Oh well, I guess I need a nap...

So this morning Alexa told me I woke up at 3:30 AM.  That was definitely too order.  Even the cats didn't want to get up yet.  

Thankfully I was able to go back to sleep until about 6 AM.  Still too early, but better than 3:30 AM

Speaking of storms, we are getting a thunderstorm at this very moment. Looks like a typical afternoon type so far.

Pool was closed this morning (coach is with his Air Force son this weekend), so I did some trail running. Stopped at Wal Mart on the way home. And since I was already hot and sweaty and had sunblock on, I weeded the yard. Good thing I did it early, but it looks like mowing the front yard will have to wait.

Oh, well. The noisy pool party next door is cancelled, anyway.

Got still another graduation party to attend today.  I suppose I should be glad that the worst of Covid is over, but my calendar has been so full lately, that a day at home would be nice.

Although I had a lot of friends in high school (I was married during my senior year, but finished school and graduated with my class), and I've had a lot of friends over the years, the only weddings I've been invited to were immediate family members. It doesn't upset me, but I've always found it a bit unusual.


ETA- And no graduation parties.

I used to get invited to the weddings of co-workers.  Some I attended and some I declined because I didn't know the co-worker well enough and felt it was a gift grab.

Family that lives far away didn't invite me to graduation parties when I lived in Colorado.  Fine by me.  No obligation to do anything.

Except for my immediate family, we are now in the funeral stage of life.

Well, I'm back, but tired from the drive.  It was kinda hot today, but since the celebration was outside it wasn't all bad.  I figure if anyone was there with Covid, we'd be less likely to catch it with all of the fresh air.  There is still some smoke in the air here, so my eyes are burning right now.


I've mentioned this before, but if I get an invitation from a relative I've never met, I tend to decline, or ignore it, as I agree it's probably just a gift grab.

I haven't been invited to weddings in ages. Last ones involved college friends so decades ago. And I haven't been invited to graduation parties either. I suppose that's a benefit of having no children and not being nearby to my niece and nephew.

      Unfortunately the wildfires in our state are 0% contained, although there are people fighting the fires.  I actually noticed the smoke more where the graduation party was, compared to at my house, although you can definitely see some haze in the air.  The air quality was definitely worse earlier this week, but only time will tell...

Good Morning Kids!  I'm watching church online today.  Unfortunately, I had awful insomnia last night.  So bad, that when my alarm went off, I just wasn't ready to face the world quite yet.

Sorry Busymom. I had broken sleep in part because I was tired of tending to the critters. Needed to remove Crestie's dish and give him some fresh mixed up food, but he was hovering around the cage opening and I wasn't up to catching him or letting him wander about.

He may have actually eaten a newly dead hornet or black wasp I brought over using the new tongs. I do not have a good feel with these feeding tongs yet and actually dropped the dead insect before I got it into the cage. He pounced immediately at the tongs, so I don't know if he actually got it, or as what happens too often he sees black and thinks cricket. Need more sleep myself and some patience to practice with the dead cooked crickets.

My online church was OK, turns out it was a guest minister not a video streaming from another church.

We went to the record store/coffee shop; very interesting place. Had coffee there and bought some beans, too.

Then had breakfast out. I am very full after a Western omelet, hash browns and a bagel. We also did a quick produce stand stop. I bought cherries, pitted and froze them for later use.
