Good Afternoon Kids! I was up early this morning so I could run to Target, and pick up a prescription for DS before the stores got too busy. It was warm but a bit humid this morning. Now, the sun is weaving in and out of the clouds, and although I heard a bit of thunder we haven't seen a single drop of rain. (We could use some!)

Speaking of thunder, I heard some earlier and it got cloudy, so I went out and mowed the lawn. Also cleared out the garden patch. Meatloaf is in the oven now; potatoes are cut up and in the pot. Green beans just need microwaving and butter and some seasoning.

I couldn't/didn't sleep last night. I tried. And I tried again this morning. It just didn't happen. Now I'm dragging. I need to go to the store for food and to return 2 chairs I bought for DGDS, but they're not an exact match to the backyard furniture, so nope, they can't have them. Oh, well. I tried.
Tomorrow we're having a birthday party for DGD2 at Chuck E Cheese pizza. She will be 3. She's so cute! Then I will spend the night at their house, because DSIL is having his hip replaced on Monday and they have to be at the hospital at 5:30AM. I will stay with the girls. Tuesday is actually DGD's b-day and maybe we'll go to dinner. Depends on how her dad is doing.
It's going to be a busy week. It's hot, even with my a/c going. I'm tired.
Enjoy your day/weekend!

I didn't sleep well last night either and haven't been able to nap today.
Every time I asked Alexa what time it was, it was about an hour later. Long night.

A big rainstorm completely missed us today. Unfortunately, some parts of our state got way too much. So, DH & I were out watering the garden, the bushes & portions of the lawn this evening.
Hope everyone can get some sleep tonight (I've had trouble sleeping lately, too...)

I did sleep well last night. I slept till 5 AM and then dozed another hour. I had gone to bed early.
I have showered this morning and DN3 and his family are coming to help me with a few things this afternoon.

It was hot out there for a run, even at 7 a.m. After that, fixed breakfast (brioche French toast and blueberry topping, made by cooking down some frozen blueberries) and turkey bacon and coffee. A scrubbed the master bath shower stall and tidied the bathrooms. Dishwasher is running and I am heading to the kitchen for more iced tea. I think I earned it today. Dinner is a big salad for me and crab cakes for DH

I can't believe it's 63 degrees outside and cloudy. It doesn't look like it's going to rain though.

It's DGS's birthday party today at 4. Then I'll come home and get my stuff, then go spend the night at their house, so I can stay with the girls tomorrow.
I bought washable chalk paints and I plan to stop at Walmart for some new water color sets for them. Hopefully, between those and the birthday gifts, there will be plenty to entertain them all day tomorrow, so we don't have a lot of crying for their mom all day. Being an introvert, this is going to be a long 3 days, I think. I'll be glad to get home where it's quiet and I'm not trying to guess what everyone else wants or needs. But I love them, so it will be worth it.

toomuchreality enjoy the time with the grandkids. One time when the kids were playing with chalk outside I had them lay on the ground and then drew around them. They then colored on the clothes on the chalk outline. They really enjoyed that and thought it was so funny. I went to church today not realizing it was potluck day. I stayed anyway even though I hadn't brought any food and was glad I did. It is was nice to have conversations with other people that I don't work with and aren't related to me.

Good Evening Kids! I hope your storms aren't too bad, NancysSummerSip. It actually felt cold when we went to church this morning. It is still barely 70 degrees here, with a very cold wind. Such strange weather! And, we still need rain. Badly.

Dang, the thunderstorm that blew through here was HUUUUUUGE! Could not even see the house behind us; it was sheets of rain. Looks like we may get at least one more round of them tonight. I did get outside and got about a bucket of weeds out of the yard. Rewarded myself with a big crunch salad with nuts and fruit and a couple of eggs. Very filling. We will eat last night's meatloaf tomorrow night. I am in the mood for a cold meatloaf sandwich with Russian dressing; have not had one in years.

Did Mar-a-lago get blown into the sea, NancysSummerSip? Inquiring minds want to know... My old neighborhood is getting back-to-back storms today too. Must be a crazy storm system there.

For the last few weeks, our weather here has been quite nice in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, or early evening, we've had a HUGE thunder, rain and hail storm hit. Hard. Really hard. A good portion of them have been scary, because it's been so loud and come down so hard. They don't seem to change the temperature much, if any. And most haven't lasted too long. Maybe half an hour, to an hour. Day after day. That's not at all normal for this area. Not during the 65 years I've lived here. We might get one like that, once every several years. But not even once per year. So to get them daily, for more than a week, seems really odd. And the don't start small and build. One minute it's really nice out and the next, you're being dumped on. And the hail hurts, if it hits your skin. I have thought several times my windows were going to break. One time in my car, as I was driving and several times when I was home, in my apt. Then, just as quickly as it starts, it instantly stops. Like someone is flipping a switch. It's crazy.
Maybe it's being caused by the UFO'S and 9-10 ft tall aliens, people have been claiming to see in the last few days. Aliens with HUGE eyes. A family in Nevada called 911 and reported that 2 space ships had (crash?) landed in their backyard, a few days ago. And there were 2 really tall/long aliens in them, with really big eyes. They said, they definitely were not humans. The police nervously went to check. And the story abruptly ended there. Weird. I'm not a believer of this story. Not at this point.
Did anyone else hear about it? Did you hear more/different information than I did? If so, what?
Curious minds. 😁

I hope you all have a good day too!

Good Morning Kids! It is sunny & cool so far, but we're supposed to be in the low 80's by the end of the day. The earliest chance of rain we have is Friday, so we've gotta keep watering the garden(s). toomuchreality, your weather system sounds like what they used to get in Florida. Those born & raised in the area I'd lived in told me that every single afternoon they used to get a quick rainstorm, and then it was done. They claim you could almost set a clock to it, but the weather there has changed. It made them wonder if the area would continue to feel "tropical". Not sure about the aliens. Haven't seen any here. Unless you count crazy drivers. Those I have seen.

It was 55 again this morning when I got up. That's quite chilly for this time of year. No rain in sight and the farmers need the rain. I don't care about my yard and I will not water it.
When I lived in Boulder, you could count on a storm to roll through in the summer about 3 PM. Sometimes it actually rained and sometimes it just sprinkled a bit. Now I see they are getting serious storms every day at any time of day. That is not typical Colorado weather.

Hi All,
I went to the coast but was only there for the day so I am going back several more times just so I can be sure that is where I want to plant my feet. I have thought about relocating states and I just don't believe that I want to do that due to my whole support network being here. But I can move in state to a much better fitting area so that is what I am working on right now.
I still plan to visit the Redwoods of Oregon by the end of the month so I don't get caught up with fire season over here in the PNW.
Take Care!

It appears there was some light rain overnight. It's 59 and cloudy. It's very damp outside.
I'm ready for some sunshine.

We under a red flag/fire watch warning today due to high temperatures, low humidity, and high winds. Unfortunately it came true today. There are at least two fires burning in my county, one of them has grown to over 10,000 acres. Right now the winds are gusting in the 45-50mph range. I'm thankful to not be in the path of either fire. Right now they can't get aircraft up to help fight the fires because of the high winds. Help has also arrived from other places. When the biggest of the fires initially started they were pulling fire departments from the local area which is a series of very small towns, some of which have a population of less than 1,000 people, so very small fire departments.

Good Evening Kids! This is such a busy time that I really haven't been online very much. You stay safe, Sharon! That is scary, especially with how dry it's been. It's still very dry here. We've already given up on the lawn, but we're fighting to keep the garden going.

A bit warmer this morning--73.
I never water my lawn. At this point, it's just mow to keep the weeds down every few weeks.
The crops are really hurting.
