OK, laundry, dishes and dinner done. Shopped a bit on Amazon (for myself). ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/charmed.png) And dragged out a ton of loose bits of paper and cards with recipes -- I found some empty binders when I cleaned out my home office, so an additional project for tomorrow (along with pastry making and herb mixing) is organizing these papers.

I figure everyone is getting their holiday rears in gear, so I put out drinks and brunch nibbles today. I just got back from Total Wines, where I found some good inexpensive wine for Thursday, champagne for New Year's and a good Kentucky bourbon for my mechanic. Pie dough ingredients are in the fridge and the final load of laundry going. Dinner is pasta with a lobster bisque soup mixed with some a la vodka sauce.

Made it home and didn't need bail money after spending the weekend with Mom although it was close a couple of times. The storage unit place is getting most of my wrath this weekend. I picked up another small unit this past week and had it added to my account. Units that begin with A - S are behind one gate section and units T- Z are in another gate section. My first two units are in the A- S section, my new unit is in the T-Z section. We get over there were unable to access the T-Z section. We were able to cram everything in the two other units and the rest in the trailer. It did screw up my organizational system. The office isn't open on the weekends so I was unable to get everything straightened out. If I had driven 4 hours over there and would have then needed to haul stuff back home bail money would have definitely been needed. We did a final walk through of the house, ha ha, they have only done about half of the items they were supposed to have done by 11/19. The offer papers state that all the repair items were to be completed by 11/19. My realtor was texting their realtor with photos of items no done and I guess she was getting pissy about doing walk through before the seller had completed there work and my realtor reminded her of the deadline. The very big item that hasn't been taken care of is the removal of the hot tub. I'm not interested in owning a hot tub, it would probably only be used once or twice (maybe), and the owners will only state that to the best of their knowledge it is working (red flags). That was one of the top things on the list for them to remove. Based on what I saw this weekend I will probably be the proud owner of a hot tub ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/sad.png) and a whole bunch of other garbage. The realtor said it sounds like he just wants to leave whatever he doesn't want.

Can you at least get some kind of $$$ compensation so you can get rid of the hot tub and the other garbage?

You're buying his house (terms set and agreed to), not the crap he doesn't want. Maybe you're easier to deal with than I am. But I'd have to arrange for someone to haul it off, just like he would. Why should I do it? It's his crap! What did he agree to? Is he going to refund you a significant amount, for taking care of it? If not, he better get on it! I wouldn't be happy. Not even a little bit. Having a new house is exciting though!

Happy eve of Thanksgiving Eve, peeps! I am off the rest of the week! Yay! Just did the stuffing and it's in the fridge. Breakfast after practice with the team tomorrow then a couple of stops for seafood for dinner, stove cleaner (I am all out) and the post office. A manicure as well. Will make the sweet potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie tomorrow. Then nothing left for Thursday but the turkey.

Today I ran up to my favorite meat market after work and picked up a nice half smoked ham for Christmas. Since I won't be in the area for Christmas I wanted to make sure I got one before I moved. I also picked up some bacon and sausage. Today was my last minute run of grocery items before Thanksgiving.
It's beginning to look like everything may come together for me to be moving next week. It doesn't seem real after all this time. I started the process back in August. Hopefully this will be the last weekend of driving the van over and that next Thursday I can take my car. I am dreading moving the cat, it could be a long 4 hours if she decided to talk to me about how unhappy she is for the 4 hour drive over there. Plus we will have one night in the trailer since the furniture isn't scheduled to arrive until Friday.

<<Today was my last minute run of grocery items before Thanksgiving.>> Seems like everyone is doing that. Including me after practice and the breakfast. Needed two items, but the store wasn't packed yet. Will stop by the fish store later on. Some fast food ideas for quick breakfasts this morning? I know everyone is on the run.

I've got laundry going and sweet potatoes in the oven baking -- I will mash them and put them in a baking dish with extra butter, cinnamon and brown sugar for tomorrow. Also letting the pie dough warm up a bit so I can pre-bake it. I will do the green bean casserole later this afternoon and fill and bake the pumpkin pie tomorrow.

I will need to make my stuffing today after work. It always seems better if it is made the day before and allowed to sit overnight. This year it will be just me and Mom so we are keeping it simple.

Good Morning Kids! It's officially "Pie Day" here. DH actually made one of his favorites last night, but I'm making 2 pies this morning. It's almost time for food overload!

OMG, the fish store was packed! I had to use the auxiliary parking lot; first time ever, I think. I guess I was not the only one looking for food that did not look like tomorrow's meal. They had lots of pies - peach, apple, pecan, pumpkin. No cherry, which is the only fruit pie I eat. I love holiday food shopping. Everything looks so freaking good.

I got a last minute invite to a Thanksgiving dinner at my brothers on Friday. My Sis-in-law called my Mom and told her that we were both invited. The late invite and only calling Mom are the norm for them. Actually I think I'm only invited so that I will drive Mom out to there house, but whatever. I couldn't figure out what to bring as a contribution. I couldn't make a pie because my pie plates are all in the storage unit, same for my bread pans, so no pumpkin bread. I finally decided on fudge. I knew I needed to get the chocolate bars and evaporated milk. Thought I had left a can of evaporated milk in the pantry for just in case but nope. Picked up those two items along with a couple other last minute things. What I didn't think to check was my canisters for sugar. My stock of sugar got packed up and moved last weekend but I figured there was enough in the canisters for anything I might need, nope not enough for fudge. Back to the store for sugar. Once I finally got the fudge made getting the stuffing together went fairly well.
It is looking more and more like I will be closing on my new house next week, so ready to be done with the process.

I know my sister was inviting me to things so I would drive dad. She hasn't invited me to anything since he died 2 years ago. The only time I have been upset is when she didn't invite me to a "birthday" party for dad on his birthday a month after he died. She said she never thought of it and I am sure that is true. However, it hurt me.

A quiet day here peeps. And I am glad of it. The coffee cake was fabulous and hopefully we will be full until dinner. I just put the turkey breast into the brine.

I hope brunch kept everyone's energy levels high. I just put the pumpkin pie in the oven. House is going to smell really good shortly. And FWIW, I don't like pumpkin anything.

I am very full. The cherry pie was good. I haven't had cherry pie in years, very few people in our family like it so when we have the big family gatherings we go with pies that the majority like. I sent Mom home with a big plate of leftovers so she will have two or three meals from that. Mom left me 3 pieces of cherry pie. I need to log on to work for a little bit tonight and make sure a process run properly but until then I'm trying to pack stuff up. I'm tired and would rather just put my jammies on but the clock is ticking I've got to finish getting everything packed up.

Hi Kids! I feel stuffed, overstuffed. We usually have a ham, but since I couldn't get the type I wanted, I got a turkey, and now I'm feeling sleepy. I'm glad we waited for DH to get home from work before eating our big meal, but I don't normally eat so much, so late in the day, so I'm thinking I'll need to stay off of the scale for at least a couple of days.

Good Morning Kids! It's "pie-for-breakfast" day. We'll be having turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce for lunch. I've got a lot of "bird" leftover. We'll have lunch & dinner with turkey meat, and the rest is going into the freezer.

Good morning everyone.
I had apple pie for lunch. The usual oatmeal (steel cut) for breakfast. Pizza as usual for Friday dinner. Need to take a break from turkey. Had dinner here Wednesday then left overs yesterday.

I am making a salad with walnut and apples and some leftover turkey for dinner; DH is having ham mac and cheese and some of the green bean casserole. Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday and we have a coffee date at a small coffee shop, stroll the streets, and will shop at a local produce market and chocolate shop.

Getting ready to head to Bro's for Thanksgiving part 2. I wish the van was more loaded and ready to go as I had hoped to get an early start tomorrow. It is taking me longer to get things packed up and loaded up since I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of what's left. From now on it is pretty much paper plates, toast, simple things to microwave and take out. I probably should have left out a small fry pan, oh well. Time to take some aspirin and fine some shoes and pants, all of the above will be required for going to my brothers.
