Well, Kids, it's been an interesting week. I took DS over to Wally World, just to try & have a few things stocked up, and I have an older woman driving the wrong way (towards me!) in the parking lot. Then, inside the store, is someone stocking the sales floor, and talking loudly to himself in what sounded like Russian, and he sounded like he was arguing, but I didn't see any cell phone or ear piece. Only at Walmart.

busymom I used to work with a man who was multi-lingual and he would argue with himself with the opposing sides being different languages. He would frequently carry on a conversation with himself with one side in Russian and the other side in Portuguese. DD and the kids came down for a couple of nights. DGD thought it was hilarious that I had a picture of her dog as my computer background and that her dog was in Grandma's computer. I told her that I could put her picture on the computer. No she didn't want to be in Grandma's computer she wanted to go home with her Mommy. I went ahead and put her picture up but she wasn't sure about that and if she would be able to go home with Mommy.

Stink bus is on the move! The Virginia visit was a short one. The Bitchfest 2021 tour continues! She went thru West Virginia & was somewhere north of Pittsburgh yesterday. She's heading back to Colorado for the summer.

I mean, it's not exactly the shortest distance between two points. How the heck does she finance her adventures?

We are also guessing that she's possibly trying to hit all 50 states. She's been to Hawaii years ago, so in theory she could hit them all. This will be her 2nd full year on the road.
As far as financing this, we have no clue how she's doing it. She lives off SS & food stamps. She doesn't stay in RV campsites or places where you have to pay, it's always a Walmart/Home Depot/Cracker Barrel parking lot or free state park/rest areas. She's only having to feed herself & her cat.

I have family in Denver; I will send out an APB: Beware the Bitchbus! Rickety rollerbox driven by batty old lady with cat in tow. Frequents Walmart, Home Depot and any area offering free parking that does not draw suspicious stares or questions like, "Phew...place stinks. Ya hauling trash in there, or what?" Old lady goes by the nickname Auntie Peabrain, but other aliases include Wicked Witch of the Entire Planet, Maneatin' Mama, and Lock 'er Out Loony. Subject not known to be armed, but reportedly capable of loud, rude, nasty, and unpredictable outbursts of unprovoked mayhem. Approach with caution, wear masks, gloves and ... a full HAZMAT suit.

<< BIG SIGH >> Mom has a red rash with blisters on the back of one arm, across her chest and apparently some on her back. I haven't seen her back she just told me it also on her back. She can see no reason why she needs to go see a doctor. It's just an allergic reaction to something. I finally convinced her to go to urgent care, we have an appointment later this morning.
Mom has had her shingles shot but it sure looks like shingles to me and I know that just because you have had the shot doesn't mean you will never get shingles. My main concern is the kids getting chicken pox, apparently that can happen. Mom found out that DD and the kids were in town and showed up at my house. She didn't even knock she just walked in, which is okay, but it amused me. She held the baby for quite a while on Thursday and then Friday breaks out with this rash. She doesn't tell me about the rash until Saturday morning but down played how bad it was. When I went over last night it was Mom you need to go to the doctor. I don't suppose I'm allowed to gag Mom when hauling her to urgent care so I don't have to listen to how she doesn't need to go to the doctor.

Sharon Hope it is a short drive to the urgent care. I agree with you she should get checked out by a doctor.

Good Afternoon Kids! Speedy gets his first "puppy class" today, to hopefully help with some behavior issues. He's smart enough, but I think he's just got some attitude. Wish me luck! Sharon, I think it's time for you to lock your doors. The idea that your Mom could pass on chicken pox to your grandkids is appalling. I had chicken pox as an adult, and I was quite sick for a couple of days, until the fever broke, then of course I was off work until my "pox" dried up.

Sharon Mom absolutely needs to get checked out. Sounds a lot like shingles, and yes, she can get it, even after the Shingrix vaccine doubles, which is 90% effective against it. You mention she's had a shot, so I assumed she had the original shingles vaccination, which was a single shot, and not as effective (about 70%) and it only lasted for five years. So if she had Zostavax once and over five years ago, she really is not protected the way she should be. Well, one more race to go, a 5K on Memorial Day -- I did an open water mile swim today. Happy with the time. I have a pre-op appointment with a surgeon Tuesday. I am finally getting my bunion removed in June. It needs to go, and this is my window of opportunity to get it done. I have a meet in August and a 10K at Cape Canaveral in September so the cast needs to be off and rehab underway in July.

It has been confirmed that Mom has shingles. I believe that she has had both types of vaccines. She got the 1 shot type when it first came out and then I think she got the Shingrix when it came out because of the number of years it had been since her initial vaccine. She was at my house on Thursday but says she didn't start breaking out until Friday, so there would have been no thought of anything concerning when she dropped by. I have picked up her prescription. We shall see how she does with that. The pills are huge and she has to take them 5 times a day. Mom has had three different procedures/surgeries on her throat over the years because of difficulty swallowing. On the way home from picking up the prescription I stopped at KFC and got us some lunch. She is worn out from everything and I suspect that she will nap this afternoon.

Good thinking on getting her to a doctor ASAP, Sharon. Shingles are miserable to deal with, but controllable. I worry she will make your life miserable now because of it.

Speedy's introductory class actually went quite well. The lady is a professional dog trainer, and he did such a good job that I'm planning on buying some more training sessions from her. She says he IS a smart dog, but we're probably dealing with some attitude (Imagine that!) I was impressed with what she could coax him to do for her in one 45 minute lesson.

It's been a looooooong day, so glad it's almost done. DD was having technology issues today, which made her day (and mine stressful). We're trying some of the new training technics with Speedy, with some success. Oh, and in case I didn't mention, DD is trying to purchase her first house, which is complicated in the current real estate environment.

busymom good luck to your DD on buying her first home. In my area right now the norm is to list on Thursday/Friday, have an open house on either Saturday or Sunday and review offers on Monday. I'm receiving calls or letters in the mail asking if I want to sell my house about every other day.

Good Evening Kids! It's been another long day. We've got too many projects going on right now: switching insurance companies, DD's house hunt, trying to have the contractor finish up, and we might have an old friend come over during the upcoming holiday weekend. I didn't sleep well last night, and I really hope I'll be able to tonight.

Hello Peeps! 13 days until foot surgery, so I have a list of things to do. The medical stuff is done and I am preregistered for the surgery. This weekend, it will be cleaning the fridge, freezer and pantry so DH can find things when I cannot get up to get things for the first five days. I have my final 5K for the season on Monday. Then nothing until August; the stitches, bandages and boot stay on for 30 days. So by the end of July I should be kinda close to normal.

Good Morning Kids! DD is very happy, as she got the house. I'm excited for her, and sad at the same time, because she'll be moving out, but getting that first home is always a big deal. At least she'll be close by. Best wishes on the surgery, NancysSummerSip. And, wishing you speedy healing. How long does the doc say it'll be until you might be racing once again?

Four weeks from surgery day to bike and swim. Another two weeks until I can run. So figure end-ish of July for running, mid-July for bike and swim. I also have MOHS surgery scheduled in there to remove a basal cell near my forehead; I am trying to schedule that within the foot-healing time frame, so this all gets done at once. But we all know how that can go.

Congrats at the busymom house for your DD getting her first house. How exciting. NancysSummerSip good luck with the surgery. Do they require a covid test 3 days prior.? I was required to have the covid test 3 days prior even though I had already been vaccinated. Mom and I did the cemetery tour today. We didn't put flowers at as many graves as Mom usually does but she just isn't capable of doing that anymore.

Since I am racing tomorrow, we just walked today. Made breakfast, ran the dishwasher and another laundry load, and picked up my race packet. DH has the Indy 500 on at the moment.
BBQ chicken and baked sweet potatoes tonight for dinner.
