I can't get that White Zinfandel here in Toronto. I'll go look tomorrow, but it wasn't on their website.

when you're going south towards Portland you have to hang a left at toutle. You see mount Hood in front of you as you're going south but if you look back over your left shoulder,on a clear day down past Longview/kelso you see a more flat snow covered peak. That's Ms. Helens, I love Astoria! Nice old town. Lots of great houses up on the hill overlooking to water. Next stop is at Fort Clatsop,of Lewis and Clark fame another cool place. Then THE COAST. Oregon has the most exciting coast all the way down I think. Lots to see and do along the way not to mention the food. Plenty of crabs and fish "so fresh the sea hasn't even missed it yet." Yes, I love it here. Lived all over the place but got tied into the North West by my soul. I'll never leave, alive. Best place to live and best place to die. PLUS. Peo likes it. A dog is always right.

This is the one I'm drinking, Sug. I found yours Femme and while I was looking I found Scottish_Lassie's as well, but in limited quantities.

Oooh - good choice, Femme - Berringer Zin is on my "top ten" list of Zins. (I have 5 bottles in the fridge right now. It's a perfect "go-with" wine for seafood and poultry - and even goes well with red meats (steaks, roasts). Best to serve well-chilled (don't spoil it by adding ice). It's nice just for sipping to - especially in the summer - sitting in the shade enjoying a book, or having a picnic.

It was so yummy. I drank it chilled and it tastesd so good. It takes a lot to get me buzzed. I also bought a bottle of the Relax Riesling, that mox suggested. Woohoo!!!

"when you're going south towards Portland you have to hang a left at toutle." No wonder we missed it...all the signs were on the right, so we looked that direction. lol Doodle: I am kind of disappointed we missed Portland, next time perhaps. As my daughter described it the first time she was there, "Mom, it's like stepping back into the seventies...you would LOVE IT!!" She kind of said it is lots of hippie types and transient people. Is that correct? I am not either of those, but I enjoyed the seventies as a teen for sure. I want to check out that huge book store there I have read and heard so much about.

I slept in until 10:30 this morning...I was so mad at myself!! I started feeling better a few hours ago, so I guess I will let hubby treat me to dinner...maybe a glass of wine would do me good. I think I will get dolled up too...sometimes that perks you up when you have been down ill for a few days.

I got pictures of the Beringer Winery in Napa a few weeks ago...it is on this windy, wooded back road that took us forever to drive through, but the beauty was worth it! Napa is definitely a girlfriends' long weekend trip!! I loved Calistoga too...going back there for a mud bath sometime!!

You should see this high school...in Napa...I think it was St. Helen's High School...I swear, it looked like a big ole fancy mansion...couldn't believe that is was a freakin' high school...very posh! I'd like to try their hot lunch...probably gourmet food!

"Out here prettty much every tribe has a casino somewhere on the rez and some tribes have museums with gift shops. Except for at "pow wows" it is difficult to find quality beadwork or baskets." *I am only interested in their handmade, quality goods...I need to hit one of those pow wows sometime!! "I will add that most of what you see are poverty stricken homes with a lot of junk cars(pony herds)in the yard. It is fairly depressing." *Yes, I have seen documentaries on the poverty there. A lot of alcoholism too. Very sad too as the kids grow up usually in such dysfunctional families...no role models. Suicide is up on the reservations too, I think. I saw LOTS of casinos and a few Native Americans in the towns we stopped in...shopping. I would SO LOVE to teach on an Indian reservation! The kids are adorable!! Thanks for the info., Doodle.

I would say, I liked it pretty darn well. ;D I have a bottle of the Relax Riesling in the fridge, too that I may have to bust into in a bit. Are you feeling better, I take it?
