I was married the first time because I thought I was in love and I thought it was just what was expected of me. It was the next step. I was ready to get married. I chose the wrong one to marry.
If I marry again it will have to be some one very special. He'll have to be more my equal this time. The same values, morals, and spiritual ties I guess you could say. I dont know that I'll ever marry again. So if I do he'll have to be awfully special.

Crabby was HOT! HOT! HOT! I also thought she had money. She thought I did. We were both dispointed financially.

I got married because I wanted to have children. DH and I were happily cohabitating DINKS for YEARS until my biological clock reared it's ugly head. It all worked out because he wasn't averse to the idea either!

Good question because when I met my later-to-be DH, it was the farthest thing from my mind. I guess it all boils down to the fact that I met a great guy. Thirty two years later we're still together, so I'd say it's been a pretty good ride. ;D

The best part of my marriage was my wedding day. What a party we threw. No stuffy sit down chicken or beef meal. Food stations where you had many choices where they would cook right in front of you. Eight hour open bar, swimming pools, Live band. Oh opening the envelopes was kinda fun too ;D

BECAUSE I KNEW IT WOULD BE WEDDED BLISS FROM THAT DAY THROUGH THE REST OF MY LIFE.
I think the real reason was love or some other such delusion.
If I'm ever in a position to think about doing it again. I won't.

Men and women are not innately intended to spend their entire adult lives together

I'm trying to remember. The first time I was just young and easily coersed. The second time, I was young and easily...hey wait I see a pattern here.
Marriage is not something I would do again.

I married my first husband to get away from my parents. Living together was not an option. I was a good Christian girl. Second was for love. That lasted 11 years. I won't be doing it again. Ever.

First time, stupidity and the desire to get away from my parents. Second time, because the greatest guy in the world asked me. We were married for 37 years and it was never anything but good. He was very, very special.

Getting married because it's important to him, and affords some legal and financial benefits and protections.
