People see mirages, illusions, hallucinations all the time, our sensory perceptions are unreliable, that is why we do not give them primacy over what exists.

I love being alive and conscious, the universe is lovely but my spirituality has more lowly origins, it is love and kindness to all living things, except insects...and fish............and bacteria.

Things can only have a purpose as that purpose has an importance to someone or something. But somewhere along that line you have to come to the conclusion that something exists just because. I the universe exists to amuse the Gods, and the Gods exist to fight evil, and evil exists to test man, and man exists to amuse the Gods....kinda leads back to the old "everything exists just because".

What is the purpose? Considering the age, size and scale of the universe, I very much doubt we occupy much space in the mind of any creator.  Why wouldn't we occupy space in the mind of our creator, when we are a part of the creator? That would be like saying your children don't occupy space in your mind. The vast size of the universe has nothing to do with any of this. |
