I believe the purpose of the universe may be order from chaos, the evolution of reason from irrationality, the universal notions of freedom, equality, and citizenship arising from slavery, inequality and selfishness. The meaning of life is social order and the relationships between individuals and their society.
We are an enlightened species rising slowly from the void of ignorance and fear, evolution has reached its ultimate effect....clarity of mind and thought.
The purpose of the universe may be reason itself.

I enjoy all aspects of creation because I ask questions, I am far happier than your average Neanderthal, they did not ask too many questions that is why they are now extinct.
There is a lesson in there for all humans.

The general purpose of the whole universe is for humanity to reach the state where all people will be as one family. Everyone will take others into consideration and will be a guarantor for everyone else.

The meaning of lfe is a meaningless question, the meaning of my life is a sensible question. I believe reason is the purpose of the universe and reason answers the question " What is the meaning of my life ? "

One can not achieve this state without the capacity to reason, and this capacity is not confined to humans, which is why it is a universal purpose.

The purpose of the universe may be reason itself. Yes but that would be giving humanity an unwarranted pride of place in the nature of things and in defining their meaning. It may be true that there has been a slow evolution in the progress of the mind and more tolerable social arrangement for a greater number over the past millenniums, but that says nothing about the universe itself. Unless you assume that human progress and the purpose of the universe are identical. And there is no reason to make that assumption. The universe is a very big place…that is about as far as I’m willing to go. |

I love the Universe.. I love the stars, the planets..
I think their purpose is to sparkle and shine so we can look at them thru the microscopes.. and land a spacecraft on once in a while.. and give the scientists a job! ;D

Consciousness must be the highest state of any evolutionary process in the universe, there can be no higher. The state of ones consciousness determines how far up the evolutionary ladder one is, those who use reason and question everything are Superior beings. One could almost call me a God, at least I exist. |

The universe is made up of the same elements, whatever shape life takes its highest state will be one of consciousness, reason is a product of an evolved consciousness, alien or human.
Reason is therefore a suitable candidate for a universal purpose and the purpose of the universe.

The purpose of the universe cannot be just life or humans or even simple consciousness, it must be reason.
In a few billion years the universe will be united by reason beings and these beings will travel to other universes or dimensions and find immortality.
The quest for immortality is an epic of reason.
