I find that my house is kind of a representation of my brain. If my house is cluttered and disorganized, it makes my brain feel cluttered and disorganized.

Although I have not been on-line in quite a while, I do feel that I have connected with many people on-line (here & msn) that have helped me tremendously through some tough times. There are some that I would love to be friends with in real life. I think of these people often and hope they are doing well in their lives.
I have been so busy lately that I haven't been depressed. Now that work will slow down...I am afraid it will return. Plus I too do not like the shorter darker days.
There are 2 things in my life that make me so happy! My son & my granddaughter! We were at a wedding this weekend and my little one was having so much fun...running and dancing with other kids. She wanted to dance with her daddy...of course he did (he love that little girl so much) he would twirl her around and then she would want him to twirl around! A friend next to me leaned over and said "you must be so proud". If I could only bottle that feeling. My granddaughter has the most awesome parents. I am so very thankful that she is loved so much. Something I never experienced.

Awww, me2, I hear you about the coming winter dreariness. Cold and dark isn't my idea of a good time either, and I always nose down somewhat during the winter months. Like you, I find light and joy in family.  |

I think that Seasonal Affective Disorder is very real. And, depending on where you live, in the fall and winter, it seems like much of the time you spend is in the dark. So, i just try to focus on the holidays and having fun. And, try to go out walking a bit and get some fresh crisp air and that makes you feel great.

Hi Only just joined the board on the recommendation of a friend..saw your post on S.A.D. I work regular night shift and the winter months are never good...going to bed when its dark and waking with little sunlight before it goes dark again.. I limit my decorating to Christmas only. Seems the holidays creep up so fast and then i forget about the other ones. I did carve a couple of pumpkins though. |

Hi Peeps! Getting ready for the upcoming winter. I decided i am going to fully embrace winter because what else can i do! So, i have plans for a couple of ski trips to the local slopes and lots of sled riding with the kids. If you can't beat it, join it!  |

I found the best thing to do with winter is that if you can't beat it, you join it. So, i am already making plans to ski, sled ride and walk in the snow. ;D

For a while I thought I love winter mostly because of the state I live in. Winter season does not get...say out of hand. Like I will never forget the story where a guy was riding his snow mobil from rooftop to rooftop! I'm amazed it can snow that bad!
But it is really because I run HOT! and when it's 70 degrees outside I'm comfortable. then when it gets warmer I get hot. GF can get snuggle for a few minutes then she pushes away cause I get too hot. But then she comes back during the night cause she gets cold - LOL
Plus we can dress for winter. you know get cold and put on clothes. But then women, most women around here I speak to like wearing little clothes and don't want to be all bulked up with sweaters and jackets and coats.

Hi Zaire. I hit the gym yesterday. Did my usual cardio and now i am playing around with some kettle balls and doing some exercises. Those are kind of fun. |

ad a bad 3 months The depression got to me and never went away. Had to go off alll my meds and try new ones to see which ones worked . that was h*ll for me and my doc My cat lost a lot of weight because I was in the hospital so much, poor baby. Im slowly getting better . Just in time for the S.A.D. to turn up  |

Tell your friend to take all of her clothes off, wait for a rainy night and run the streets wild and free...just make sure she makes it back home. You could be following her in your car. WOW - I thought running naked in public was illegal? I get your point - but umm... maybe stay inside on a rainy night and enjoy the sounds of the rain, watch a movie you have seen at least 2, with some ice cream. Well that's what I like to do. |
