It's that time of year again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Decided to just quote myself. Yep, I know about opening old threads but see no reason to open a new NFL thread. My son knows where I will be at 7PM tonight
Only a pre season game but I can quit watching "replays" on the NFL Channel now!!!!!
May everyone's team win unless they are playing the Raiders

If they don't get it back soon we will be switching. We have had dish forever. Big fans of red zone, but I guess everyone has that now. They have been also threatening to drop our local fox station. Will have to see how things are when we get back from vacation.

Well, I am curled up in a fetal position, sucking my thumb and getting ready to get rip roaring drunk. Game cancelled due to field conditions.
ETA: I think most that have NFL have Red Zone.

Iggy aka IG - Were you jumping for joy last night? Putting your head out the window and yelling "neener neener neener" and sticking your tongue out at the world? OMG! 7-2. First place in the AFC West (the toughest division in football this year). AND we got there by beating the Broncos! All is right in the football world.

Iggy aka IG - I didn't see it last night because FB thinks it should decide what I do and don't see, but I just went and found it, and AWESOME!
I am annoyed at Mark Davis for wanting to move the team to Vegas. Did he learn nothing from his father? They left Oakland for LA only to come back. I mean, I get that the Coliseum is old, I do. But I think that's part of the reason to hold onto it, refurbish it. What other team (besides the Packers in Lambeau) has that kind of history, that legacy? In order to keep the 49ers, SF had to build them a stadium in Santa Clara. The Raiders need to stay in the East Bay. It's part of their identity.

I so totally agree they should stay in Oakland! I loved the signs last night: "Las Vegas, if you build it we WON'T come." People around here have pointed out moving to Vegas would make them closer to us. What a silly argument.

I think Soldiers Field is old too. I know the Bears gutted the inside a few years ago but kept the outside. Best of both worlds thing.

Wisconsin Beth - I'd forgotten about Soldiers Field. Baseball (as boring as I find the sport) seems to understand the importance of the historic stadium better than any other sport. I really hope the NFL could learn from them. And as for the Coliseum, given that both the Raiders and the As play there, if those owners each simply pooled 5% of their sports earnings for a year, they could totally refurbish that place.

Iggy aka IG & NoNamePerson - made me so happy last night - especially after hearing the fireworks on Thursday night for the Seahawks, who clinched their playoff spot with a record of 9-4-1. (I will add that all my Seahawks season ticket holding friends are super happy for me/"my" Raiders this year, so I can't complain too much.)

Nice, shanendoah! I didn't realize the 'Hawks were doing that well. Being from WA State, they are my original fave NFL team. In fact, my bedroom in Jr. High was blue and green.

I think Soldiers Field is old too. I know the Bears gutted the inside a few years ago but kept the outside. Best of both worlds thing. LOL, it was the worst of both worlds, they managed to desecrate a monument and build the smallest stadium in the league. Not to mention it is hideous on the outside because it appears a spaceship landed in a WW1 memorial. It was actually delisted as a National Historic Landmark in 2006 because of the renovation. I'm a Bears fan and I'm at the point in the season where I would have been ticked had they beaten the Packers yesterday, if they can't make the playoffs I want better draft picks. Honestly I just want their inept ownership to sell, they are a joke. Hopefully they do something by the I get season tix, I'm about number 2000 after 10 years on it.

...awww, man... looks like my Steeler logo didn't migrate... leave for awhile and this happens... logo-gate? Why not a logo gate? We've had just about every other type of gate. I will be glad to find you a Raiders logo to replace your Pitt logo. BTW saw the Pitt game Sunday. In fact I dang near OD'd on football Sunday

congrats, Raiders fans. it has definitely been awhile for you guys!
I can't wait to see what Brady and the boys will come up with this year. a record 8th straight divisional championship is a nice start. would love to see it followed up with a big F-U to Goodell with a Super Bowl win.

I think Goodell loves playing the profitable Darth Vader-esque villian, Brady going all the way his suspension year is a great story which= more $$$ for the league.

If the Pats were in the NFC I would pull for them just for this reason. Flash back to SB 18. It's well documented that Al Davis and Rozelle had no love lost and then Rozelle had to present the SB trophy to Davis and Flores. He looked like he wanted to vomit!!!!
