I don't like giving up my advantages. I don't like you giving them either.

Oh the irony. My hair is poker straight and I use rollers to give it body and shape. And I love to wear make up - tastefully. But I didn't today. I was washing floors and doing that kind of stuff so why bother? <<POM is hoping nobody can see her>> <<waves from the backyard>> <<waves back>> How do you like the color? I just did it. <<POM hides her make-up less face>>

You might be less frustrated if I didn't have so many advantages

I dunno, I think I look pretty cute without makeup. When I do wear it, I feel really strange, and I don't really think I look any better or worse.

I wear make up every day, but the bare minimum is mascara, which sometimes happens Saturday mornings when I need to get to the bank before it closes and I haven't bothered showering. Ever since I started seeing a dermatologist over a year ago my skin has been phenomenal. Totally not bragging, my doctor saved my confidence! My hair is wavy and I've finally grown it to a length where it air dries really nice instead of cruddy and poofy.

Swamp, you have great coloring and prominent eyes and full dark eyebrows (not bushy, but enough that they give you definition). I was shocked when you said you didn't wear make up. And you have natural rosy cheeks. So do your kids. So cute!!

I love prominent feature, like big eye or noses.

My mom puts on makeup and fixes her hair every day, no matter if she's leaving the house or not, and I grew up thinking that I had to as well. Thinking that I wasn't pretty enough if I didn't wear a full face of makeup. I, too, used to put makeup on to go to the gym or just run out to 7/11. However, after having my daughter last year I decided I don't want HER to grow up thinking that she's not beautiful if she doesn't wear makeup. Therefore, I'm trying to become more comfortable in my own skin as an example to her. I kinda went the extreme opposite direction because of my mom's make-up dependance. I was never really interested in learning how to put on make-up and didn't feel comfortable with it on. Until I was in college and then only a little mascara and lots of glitter LOL I'm pretty much solidly in the cute category looks-wise without make-up. If I go for broke and put on the whole face for a night out, I can edge into smoldering, sexy territory in dim lighting after several alcoholic beverages LOL A big part of it was seeing how horrible my mom looked in the morning before putting on her layers of make-up. She'd even lecture me not to ruin my face with make-up until I was older and really needed it. So...getting older...time for a make-up run

Meghan, so do I! And your skin looks fantastic! You would never know you had a problem. And I like both you and Swamp with longer hair. If you got it, flaunt it!

So can you please assure Later that I am cute without my makeup?

I had stick straight hair until I had kids. I'm now working the waves. I've had so many compliments on my hair since I let it grow, it's staying long until I hit that point that I'm too old for it.

JennML - My mom was a model when she was younger and was really into make up. I was a Tom Boy and she thought I was just being contrary. LOL!! But I always thought she wore too much and it was too bright for my taste. I finally got her to tone it down. She aged very well and still looks beautiful but now she looks less clownish with the "rouge" as she calls it. I also got her away from the bright blue eye shadow.

Some chicks look really hot without makeup. Yeah, you mean 12-year-olds? All women should wear at the least a bit of powder to cover up the shine, a little mascara to make her eyes stand out, and a bit of blush to give her some color. But that's just my opinion.

POM-My mom has done a complete 180 with the make-up. She's actually a certified aesthetician now and very into natural beauty. She still uses more make-up than I do. But the bright blue eyeshadow is now for evening events only not work days. Plus I haven't seen the liquid liner cats eyes in years...

I definitely prefer less than more. Long before you approach the Tammy Faye look, you're past what I like.

I always felt that if you need cover-up that's fine. But make-up should be generally invisible when worn. I think it makes it more dramatic when you do go for broke. People notice the new look. Maybe I'm just a compliment whore

I started getting a rash from makeup that I have used for years. This made me feel absolutely hideous and want to try covering it more (I actually didn't realize it was from the makeup and cleanser I was using at first).
Anyway. I switched to Lush cleansers and Bare Minerals makeup. I seriously have awesome skin again! For daily running around I use the matte foundation, the mineral veil, and a little bit of pink translucent blush (Bare Minerals is all powder make up for those that don't know), mascara, and a neutral lip gloss. That is my everyday just hanging out look. If I am going out I do put on eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick.
I rarely go out without any make up on. I am also the type of person that will not go out in public in my pjs either though. I also won't wear pants with words on my booty. I do try to look nice in public and keep myself looking nice for DH.
I do think that there are some women that can seriously get away without wearing make up and be fine. My SIL has gorgeous skin and she doesn't wear any make up.
