constanz: That is some picture. Wow... suziq: Glad to see you post again. I was wondering if work had been keeping you away. Hope you make a total, complete and full recovery and are back on track soon. Your Hawaii trip sounds wonderful. I miss my trips there as DD2 graduated and I no longer have an excuse to visit. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Darn! My teen years were in Anaheim and I went to college in San Diego. Used to take the train all the time--kind of a long trip with all the stops but enjoyable just the same. Loved just looking out the window. I imagine you were in the downtown SD area--it has changed so much and for the better! You should take more trips with all the $ you have saved over the years!

Saveinla: Thanks for clearing up the confusion.
Leanna: How lucky you are to have the extra room for your stockpile. I have to try to keep several areas in my home organized for my stockpiles.
CVS: I had a nice morning hounding at CVS with my sister and it wasn't too busy there so I got to visit with one of my favorite managers and cashiers. The red machine is spitting out CRT's for free boxes of Crackerfils. I had to get rainchecks for some of the things, but I had several old ones I maximized today. They also had an unadvertized sale on Pepsi products for $2.50 a 12 pack, which no one else was a having a sale on, so I stocked up on that.
Constanz: I have some pet Q's if you could use more. Let me know.

I am finally back in the game!! Went to CVS this morning with a $5.00 EB from last week. (from the earbuds, DD's broke on Friday ;D) Trans 1: 4*Airwick imotion minis, 1*St Joseph aspirin, 1*Bengay, total 27.45 (+tax), used $5.00 EB and coupons on everything, NEW TTL: .45 + tax, got back $11 in EBs Trans 2: 4*Dawn hand renewal, 1*Softsoap BW, 1*Aussie cond, 1*Rephresh, total $16.73 (+tax) less $10 EB from trans 1 and coupons on everything, NEW TTL: .98 + tax. Got back $9.79 EBs for more shopping fun!! ![](http://serve.mysmiley.net/party/party0006.gif) I have 12.29 in EBS. I still want to do the PG deal and get 2 Charmin and 4 Puffs, 2 more Aussie/HE and diet Coke. I know I will end up paying OOP for these items, but I am in desperate need of all of them and would have to buy them somewhere anyway.

leanna - congrats on the new house. Great to see that you will even have your own stockpile room constanz - good to see that you are doing fine even with the flood. Hopefully you are taking it slow. rubyslippers - the 2 Ups on the CF - is one weekly and one monthly beachbum - yes. Tax kills us here also. So a deal sometimes may not be a deal if you take tax into account. Nowadays, I am looking at the tax and if it's close to 2$(WYB 30$) , then I skip the deal unless I have to buy the item. saveinla it is only CVS that I feel like I am paying way too much in sales tax. I don't know how they calculate it but I can buy the same products at Shoprite for the same price and yet pay half the tax. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/confused.png) They said that they feel sales tax should be charged on all man coupons and ecb's that are man coupons. But beyond that they charge tax on a price that I can't even figure out what it is. It is like they choose some number out of the air and charge me sales tax on that number. No matter how hard I try I can't figure out why the tax is what they say. One time I went in and bought one bottle of Coke. It cost 0.99 cents. They charged me 0.25 cents in sales tax. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/confused.png) I just looked at them and asked when our sales tax went from 7% to 25%. The worst part is that they couldn't figure it out either. they just kept saying that the tax is computed by the computer and they can't change that but they know it is correct. The end result is I buy much more stuff at Shoprite than I do at CVS. ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/75_75.gif)

FYI about the flood areas. I was talking to people from NE/NCentral PA and they are asking for cleaning supplies. so if anyone is thinking of raiding their stockpile for things to donate please try and look at your stockpile of cleaning supplies. That is the thing they said they really need. Thanks to everyone who has helped and donated to the people hurt by the floods. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/heart.png)

Nowadays, I am looking at the tax and if it's close to 2$(WYB 30$) , then I skip the deal unless I have to buy the item. Sales tax is an issue for me too. It actually went down a percentage point recently to 8.25%, but it is still very high. For over two years, the registers at my CVS allowed EBs to cover sales tax. This, along with the fact that the $4/$20s and $5/$20s were abundant, allowed me to stockpile anything and everything for close to $0 OOP. Unfortunately, that ended two or three months ago and the $/$$ are few and far between, so I really have to pay attention to how much it is costing me to roll EBs for freebies - especially if the product is something that we will not use or that the food pantry does not really need.

I really like to use them for the matchups each week because they condense all the deals as they come up on page one. Cleaning supplies: There is a 1.00/2 IP for spic and span on Dollar Generals site, print 2. Spic and Span is 1.00 each at DG, so 4 for $2 I got 2 sprayers and 2 liquid/pourable.

rubyslippers Sure, I would take pet Q's off your hands! My biggest need right now is canned dog and cat food and dry cat food. I'm pretty good on dry dog food. Thanks! Let me know if you need my addy ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) My coupons were actually pretty good today! I got all four inserts too so I dragged my butt out to the gas station and bought an extra paper. Hope I am up and hounding before too long. As much as I'm enjoying the time off work (and no way I have enough energy to go back yet, or do much else) days sitting home alone are getting pretty long and boring...

Constanz,
I too was thinking the coupons look good today! I'm definitely going to buy a 2nd paper. Probably not more than that though - I have so much stuff & so many q's at this point.
To everyone, Some decent deals this week actually at RA. No time right now to write 'em out, but of course the awesome FrugalSuz has 'em posted on her blog!

RA, The J&J deal will be a good one if you have enough Qs and your store has adequate stock
Tylenol precise 5*5.99 - use 5*5$ MQ from today's SS (expires in one week) Reach TB 1*2.50 - use 1$ MQ from 4/17 SS & 1$ VVQ
Pay 5.45 + tax and get back 10 Up. Great deal if you have Ups to roll or need the patches.

Coupon question: I had been using Venus razors for the past few years but since those deals have dried up, I am now using Schick Hydra 5 and I really like it. I have a raincheck for the blades at CVS $8.49 with a $5.00 ECB. My question is, does Schick ever put out a better coupon than the current $2.00 coupon that I have that expires soon? In other words, should I hold on to the raincheck or use my Refresh $6.79 ECB?
Constanz: I'll go through my coupons tonight and let you know.

rubyslippers - they have the 4$ MQ once a while on the Schick Hydro - we had it like 3 or 4 times this year.

Apparently the Gain dish liquid is not on ad, so it varies in price from store to store. One gal quoted $2.19 - $2.19 for a small bottle of dish soap!! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)

Well, I DEFINITELY have a shelf clearer at my CVS. When I went in on Saturday, there were AT LEAST (20) bottles of Dawn with hand renewal on the shelf. I went in tonight after my coupon round up and there was ONE bottle on the shelf (so I guess technically they can say they didn't clear the shelf). The shelves are NEVER cleared like this at my CVS so now I'm going to have to take measures to ensure that I get the items that I need. It's no biggie because I'll get a rain check, but still. I also scanned my card and got the CRT for the freebie Ritz Crackerfuls or Nabisco Newton Thins. There were zero, zip, nada Crackerfuls and ONE Newton Thins on the shelf. I picked up the ONE Newton Thins. I guess I'm a shelf clearer too.

I haven't done it, because I used my Gain coupons for a similar deal recently at Safeway. Worked out quite nicely, so as long as the cats continue to print, should be a good deal!

I do not post much- but I am on here almost every day. I have a question. What does anyone consider to be a good price for laundry detergent. I can only use Wisk because I break out from most other kinds. Dollar General has it (I think it is 32 loads) for $4 a bottle and I have numerous coupons for $2 off of each bottle. Is that a good price. Thanks in advance.

beachbum973: Can you send me the link for the RePhresh q, too? I'll send you a PM with my email right now.
Thanks so much.
jandjrake: Since you are limited in what you can use (and if you are funning out of Wisk), I would say grab a couple. CVS will sometimes have a BOGOF promo on Wisk but the one bottle is at least $6.50 around these parts (Northern Calif) so even with using 2/$2 q's, that deal would be a bit more than the one at your Dollar General.

Thanks for the advice. I live in a small town that only has a Fareway and a dollar general. I try to go to Walgreens or CVS once in awhile but they are 45 minutes away.

Is that a good price. Thanks in advance. Jandjrake,I keep a Price Book, and I happen to have purchased Wisk this summer at Fred Meyer's (even though we're mainly a Tide family). I purchased it because it was such a ridiculously low price. Wisk - 50 oz Sale price $2.99 MQ -$(2.00) OOP .99 Or 2 cents per ounce Since I don't do a lot of Wisk buying, I can't say for sure, but I think the .99 I paid is one of those "super low" prices that doesn't come along very often. By comparison, I can tell you that if I could get Tide for that price ($2 a bottle) I would snap it up! Given what you shared about living in a small town, and not having other stores nearby, I think you are smart to shop at Dollar General. I don't have those where I live (darn) but I used to shop at one in NY. Great regular prices in my opinion, so you are very fortunate to have that available! Since you said you're on here almost every day, you know that many of us believe that prices are going to continue to rise, and probably dramatically. I'm presuming you have the Wisk $2 q's that came in the SS 8/21 and expire 10/2. If $4 is the regular price at Dollar General, what I would do is buy a couple bottles right now and then save the rest of my coupons until the end of the month. If another deal doesn't come along between now & then, I'd probably use up the rest of my q's by the end of the month and buy all that I could. HTH

I believe the regular price on Wisk at Dollar General is $5, on sale for $4 for a limited time. I think I read somewhere that today 9/12 is the last day for the $4 price.
